White 4g icon for royal glacier? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I'm looking for a 4g data icon for royal glacier, not the green one posted for cm7.
Any available?
Thanks in advance.

There are white 4G icons in reddv1's 4G icons.zip icon pack http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994733

Thread doesn't say where to place white icons. There is just a flashed for green

Wow. The title of your thread even says what ROM you're on. I'm an idiot. Anyway, standby I'm downloading it now. I'll take a peek and let you know...

ok. sorry it took me so long to get back, I had a break-dancing stripper emergency
first, thanks to TeamRoyal, Reddv1 and DjDarkKnight96
this method will require a new flash of RoyalGlacier
Do a nandroid backup! and i'm not responsible for what YOU do to YOUR phone, blah blah blah, yakity shmakity
If you don't have TeamRoyal's RoyalGlacier.zip or Reddv1's 4G Icons.zip, download them to your computer
Here is how I did it:
from computer using a program called 7-Zip (it's free on the interwebz, google it)
right-click on RoyalGlacier.zip icon, highlight 7-zip, choose Open Archive. Do not extract it
open system folder, open framework folder. Right-click framework-res.apk (it's toward the bottom), select open inside. Open res folder, open drawable-hdpi-v4 folder. The files to change are way down at the bottom. Leave this window open
This is the file path in RoyalGlacier.zip - system\framework\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi-v4\
Now, right-click 4G Icons.zip, highlight 7-zip, choose Open Archive. Do not extract it.
The file names in RoyalGlacier.zip are the same as the WHITE icons in 4G Icons.zip
Just delete one stat_sys_data_whatever_h.png file from RoyalGlacier.zip and drag-and-drop in same file from 4G Icons.zip
Save new RoyalGlacier.zip to SDcard and flash per TeamRoyal's instructions
let me know if this helps

You could open it in a hex editor or text editor if you would like. It is a direct write image, there aren't actually files in it for you to retrieve.
Interesting id like to see what has changing in the new recovery from the old one.
Once I get home ill take the recovery.img from the stock esprimg.zip file and compare it with the one from the ota update and see what information I cam pull from that if any.

Change your Android folder to what ever you want and edit the startup.txt accordingly. You can have as many build as your heart desire.
Yeah I know. What I'm saying is....I used androzip to unzip to sdcard, which when writing to specified location OVERWRITES any existing folder named android with the one it is unzipping. I'm retarted for short

Use pocketrar and you can set the location it extracts to, chose something like Android2, Android3 etc then in startup.txt edit this line:
Code:
set cmdline "rel_path=Android2"
Set the rel_path to whatever folder its in, and there you go.

[Q] Renaming Folders

Can I rename folders on the home screen? I don't like the default name since it tells me nothing about what's inside.

yes you can, open the folder, and longclick the bar where the x is, and rename it.
Thank you.

download "font changer" from market.
- instal
- run it
- close the program
- you will get ".fontchanger" folder in your sdcard, put the font that you want to instal in your android
- run fontchanger, and choose the font.
thanks for the help, will try it now.

copy your font.ttf file and rename it to DroidSans.ttf and replace /system/fonts/ by your font via rootexplorer v then restart

This is a troubleshooting method in case someone drops here and get all squares after rebooting:
You need to fix the permissions from root explorer. Just do this:
1- go to /system/fonts and long touch any original rom font (other than the one you copied) until the menu appears.
2- touch permissions
3- note the permissions (!!!DO NOT CHANGE THEM!!!)
4- close the menu and now take a look at the name of your ttf (the one that you copied) to ensure android didn't change its name when you first copied it. This happened once for me.
5- Repeat (1-3) this time on your copied file, this time DO change the permissions to match those noted in 3
5- close everything and reboot.
6- Do let me know if this fixed your problem.

Pentatonic ringtone

Howdy,
I root and flashed my wife's mytouch 3g slide this weekend and apparently she cant live without a specific ringtone. She believes it was called pentatonic. I did some googling, but none were correct. Would anyone here still have a default install that could see if this ringtone was on there? If so, I would appreciate a copy!
Thanks
you could always download the orginal rom she had and extract the ringtone from there, then put it on sd card in a folder called ringtones (make one if you need to)
