For those of you in the bay area...

My first evo got its rsa keys fried so i just recieved a new one today and was super excited to test 4G. Well, in emryville, i got consistantly between 7-11mbs down and 1.3 up.
I know 4g isnt official in sf yet and to my knowledge no towers in the east bay and i have 1-2 bars of signal with amazing speeds.. wow im stoked for the official release! Maybe this is just lack of cell traffic but im really pleased with sprint on this one.

I'm getting 7-8meg in SOMA. I'm curious to see what its like at the giants game tomorrow. Will test capacity, maybe. I know one thing for sure, my iPhone won't work.

in Berkeley I cant even cop a 4g signal. I should try from Sather Tower.

I pay the tethering fee and is my only source of internet.
Also I am not restricted on download

So I'm from Austin myself, and if I tether my epic 4g ...I will go from a rarely 11 mb/s to 22mb/s?
(Assuming I'm at the right location to get that speed of course)

So this is what samsung was wasting time doing instead of updating our phones. )

Only the Droid X2 and Droid Bionic look good. The rest are pretty much the same old.

They will have 4G for sure, even though the nexus doesn't really bring breakthrough specs it sure is fasst, played with one at best buy

It sure is fast, as long as you're on wifi and not using sprints ****ty data network.

I keep seeing the posts about sprints ****ty network...I just came from Verizon and I see no difference and sometimes better speed and coverage with sprint. Maybe its just my area. I know all places are different.

lucky. a lot of us here have horrible data speeds and have not figured it out yet. however, only the last 2 phones look good to me considering the tegra2. however, the nexus s and evo3d are looking hopeful. the evo 3d if it is the lg optimus 3d is insane! i would have a tough choice deciding between the nexus s and evo3d if that were the case

I remember about a year and a half ago (when I was a Blackberry user) Sprint's 3g data speeds blew every other American carrier out of the water.

Idk who all lives here or near Findlay, but Findlay has been having 4g off and on recently! Go to clear.com and view the map and its sure lit up green almost there!

I'm just kidding, that's great news! Hopefully they can start getting this 4G coverage to more cities because I'm getting tired of hearing about how great this 4G service is! I have a 4G phone but only get to use 3G...WTF!...lol

Clear is the Wimax provider that Sprint uses for its 4g service. Sprint owns like 52% of Clear.
clear.com/coverage is the best site for Sprint's 4g coverage as sprint doesn't update their map until an area becomes a "Clear City"
