Music not updating in player - Droid X General

Just recently, new music I put on my card isn't updating in the player. I use PlayerPro, but I've checked with the stock music app (Rubix 2.0), MixZing, and a couple others. All other music still shows up fine.
I've tried rebooting, pulling the card, and running the sdrescan app. I can see the files using Astro.
Thanks.

Try rebooting your phone. I had something like this before and the next day, after I had turned off my phone and turned it back on, it was there

Anyone else?

see if the player has an option in settings that will guide the app to your music folder and refresh.
I had this problem, and my only solution was to get apps with that option.
rooted x, on liberty 1.5

G1 doesnt pick up music

I've got a little issue, Ive put a few mp3's on the root of the sdcard in a folder called "Music" but the Music app says there isnt any music.
Ive tried a bunch of things
/audio
/Audio
/music
/ *basically on root*
/Music
/dcim/audio
/dcim/Audio
/dcim/Music
/dcim/music
/android/Music
/android/Audio
^ all the directories ive tried. I'm on CM5.0.8
My phone defaulted it to "My Music", so try that.
Use a file browser (like Astro or any other).
Then go to that folder and double click an mp3, Can't remember if it asks you what to use to open if or if it just opens it.
Then the music app will know the folder and the rest of your music will be listed.
If that rom comes with Dev tools(app)
-Open it
-click media scanner
make sure your songs are mp3 or aac(?)
your phone has to rescan for media. i ended up turning my phone off then back on until i rooted and changed to a good rom. it doesnt automatically scan your phone as this would drain the battery.
It worked thanks guys! It actually picked it up in android/music but I moved it back to root. Lol media player lists doubles for everything now but I'm happy it worked.

All my music player apps freeze after the song I select finishes.

I'm having a problem playing my music. Any application I use to play my music will only play the first song I select, but as soon as that song finishes, the entire application freezes and the only way I can close it is by using the task manager. Even if I try skipping the song mid-way, the application freezes. Anyone else experience/d this? Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm running on Froyo 2.2.1 DK28, ROM: AhmgskMod TrulyEpic V2.06.12.10
You deleted those 3 or so DRM APKs didn't you? My phone was always having this problem right after I flashed a new rom and I think I literally JUST found out what was causing it because my phone was doing it again after updating to DK28. Usually I go thru and delete all those APKs that I don't need and then set up my apps and I would havethe same exact problem as you describe weather I'm using the stock music app or mixzing or anything else. But now what I did was restore those 3 DRM APKs that I always delete first, rebooted, then sure enough I was able to skip forward without anything freezing. Then I went thru and deleted those three APKs again and then rebooted and I was still able to skip forward and back no problem.
So what I'm sayin I that I think you first need to play some music in the player or anything BEFORE you go and delete all those DRM related APKs otherwise you will run into this problem.

Ya. I did delete this apks. What do you reccomend I do? Can I just restore them now and then reboot my phone or do I have to completely re flash, play some music and then delete those apks?
Just try what I did and hopefuly it will fix it, I'm interested to see I it does fix it for you. Hopefully you made backups of all those DRM APKs that you had deleted, just restore them, reboot, play some music and see if it still freezes when you try to skip ahead, if it works then delete those APKs again, reboot and see if it still plays without freezing. That worked for me.
I might add that I deleted one APK at a time and rebooted after each delete because I was curious to see which one was causing the freezing but after each delete my music player still played fine. So I'm sure you can delete them all at once and still be fine

What I did was restore them (I had back ups), reboot the phone, then played a few songs (the music players were all working again, so the problem had to do with the drm apks), deleted the apks and then rebooted the phone again. Everything works fine now! Thanks a lot for the help
Glad to hear that fixed it for you as well. So then I must be right that you need to play some music or media files first before deleting those DRM APKs otherwise you will run into this issue. Maybe this is also the reason that my home encoded .mp4's that worked on my epic stock when I first got it would not play in the video player after messing around with deleting that stuff first, I will have to see when I get home from work.

I have attached the only DRM apk I have on my phone. I have never had any trouble with any music player.

music won't play in background

If I start music up then hit home or back then the task gets killed. I tried a reboot and this sometimes cures the problem, then after a while it comes back.
I also tried killing all processes and this has worked but doesn't every time.
I googled the problem but it only really came up with a thread on this forum for another device. Aldo that user had installed other task managers. My device is only a couple of days old and has just had some apps installed, no hacking or such like.
Any help appreciated.
Hmmm.
I've noticed that the tab comes with 2 apps. Audio Player and Music Player. Music Player works in the background. Audio Player doesn't.
You can also try Winamp. I think that works in the background
Hitting the back button will kill most apps, even those supposed to run in the background. But the music player should run when you hit home. Winamp does run in the background, use it all the time to listen to radio stations.
Thanks guys.
On my UK unbranded sim free Tab I have two music playing apps called "Music Hub" and "Music".
"Music" will in fact run in the background whether you use home or back buttons to leave.
"Music Hub" will not. In fact it will not run unless I have a cellular connection to verify my locale.
Earlier I was sure neither application would run in the background but perhaps I was just tired ?
Anyway...thanks for your attention, now off to research how to remove useless core apps.
Hi guys
I have the same problem, I'm pretty sure that at the beginning music was playing in background when I swiched to another app, now the music stops! I tried different players (winamp, audio player) in my branded "Tim" (italy) tab...
any new ideas or solutions???
Thanks!
I just couldn't sleep so I tried along until I found a solution!
The first time I used my Tab I connected it to my pc using the usb cable, and tranferred the songs as normal files in mass storage device. Everything worked ok and music played in the background..
then I formatted the memory, and today I was testing a new program to send files to my tab without using the usb cable (Wireless File Transfer).
The first problem I noticed was that when I opened "Music" or Winamp the songs weren't recognized, and so I used ES File Explorer to open the directory and launch a song... the second problem was related to the music not playing in background!
The solution is related to the fact that the phone doesn't scan for media when I transfer using wireless... so I downloaded "rescan media" and now everything works GREAT!
I simply launch the application, the phone searches for new files... they are recognized in my music progs and they play in background if I swich app!
I hope this helps!
I have the same Tablet. Have solved the issue. At first I thought I just needed to download Samsung Music. Well that was a start. Don't try and play tracks straight from that app though. Once you have downloaded Samsung Music, then go to the widgets and place Samsung Music on your interface. From there you will be able to listen to music and do other things. My Tablet is called, Galaxy Tab A.

Creamed Glacier[ICS] Media Not Found

I've had Creamed Glacier since its Beta 4.1, and then entire time, I have found that my phone doesn't locate music files at all. If I have a music app, it will show that there are no music files on the sd card, while I have over 2GBs worth of them. I have put them in the correct folder, and it has worked on GB, but when I switched to ICS I found that music was no longer being discovered on my sd card (also videos).
Is there a fix for this?
What are you doing on 4.1? There's beta 6.1.

Reflash. I use mixzin and music works me.

I had the problem, if you have any music apps like power amp,Google music uninstall them power off remove SD card, insert SD card power up and let phone read SD card, it should work now. Some music apps mess with the stock music app I don't know why.

Hmm...still not working. The phone still doesn't see any of my music, regardless of the apps I have uninstalled. This is indeed a weird problem.

Try clearing cache and data in the music app then do what I said in the post above

I went ahead and did exactly what you did. I had the Google Music app, PlayerPro app, and the phone's own "Music" app. I disabled the phone's music app, deleted cache and everything else I could find. I disabled and reenabled it. I uninstalled both PlayerPro and the Google Music app. Still no go.
Thanks bmakk2055 for the support you've shown me thus far.
I've deleted every music app, then reinstalled a new app, deleting cache and everything. Still no go.

I have the same problem and this isn't just with music, it happens in gallery too.
That's why i'm not using it right now, cause it pissed me off when i got in the car and couldn't listen to my music.
Also, it's really annoying how i had to yell at my phone to get people to hear me during phone calls.

(Unable to) Play music with stock app

With my previous S2, I never really played music, for no reason actually. But now I got myself a fancy S4, I'd like to give that a try.
I installed a (usenet) nzb app and downloaded a nice music album containing MP3s. They were stored in a folder on the internal storage called Downloads, and I moved the folder containing the music files to a folder called Music (also on the internal storage).
I now opened the stock Music app to play the newly downloaded album. Alas, that album was not found.
I tried the stock app Play Music, but the same thing. My highly anticipated nice MP3s were not in there.
So my question is: what the hell do I do wrong?
Need I to reboot the phone so it might rescan the files on the internal storage?
Need I to put my music folder somewhere else?
My wish is just to play some nice music with the stock Music app.
Thanks, for I am a noob.

Hi,
Silly question.
After you downloaded from usenet, did you unzip the album?
I make a folder called MUSIC , and put it on my sd card.
All music apps find it without issue.

I searched the play store and found an app called Rescan Media. This did the trick! After the background scan, my music files were found in both the stock Music and stock Google Play Music apps.
Thank you very much!

The only thing that work for my (No media scanner) is VNC player.
In my stock music app and in Google play music app I can only see 10 song out of 1700.
