[Q]my X8 become a brick after i change the theme

hello everyone, i am a newbie. I root my X8 successfully.i want to change the theme. so, i replace the framework apk file in the system. After that, it becomes a brick. When i turn on the phone, it stops at the frame of ''Sony ericsson''. But i can go into xRecovery. What should i do? i want to use my X8 asap...
maybe u can reflash it via SEUS
ya...i have tried SEUS,i need to turn on to usb mode to connact the pc companion. But i can't turn on my phone. It is stop at the frame of ''Sony Ericsson'' text. I need to take off the battery to turn off the phone.(sorry my english is poor )... i think i should take my phone to the SE shop to repair...
If you can get to xRecovery, can you flash one of the Roms in the Development section. Things may not work, but at least you won't be bricked.
You could probably connect it to SEUS after
at first, try "fix permissions" in xRecovery
if it won't help, just restore firmware via SEUS
You didn't bricked it man... Brick is when you cannot use any home-tools like xRecovery, SEUS, whatever...
Now if you have backup just restore it, if you not have - flash it with X10 flasher. Or use the guide to install the newest update.

agree....still have hope....keep trying man.....
i solved the problem with SEUS,Thank You^_^
How are you trying to apply the theme? There is a trick to it.
I had a rooted , xRecovery, app2sd2.1 mod dalvik cache, . . .
rebooted and bricked
no recovery, no nothing past black screen ' Sony Ericsson' screen.
downloading Update service from SE, but FA will get me past this screen so-far
( removed sd=no joy)(usb to PCCompan=not found(as I cannot mount))(cannot find fail-safe key-presses to factory boot???)
?
Try to flash with a custom rom and then use SEUS.. It might work
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Seus 2.11.1.9
I'm trying with the Downloaded standalone version, but have a problem.
after I select the X8, it tells me to hold back button, and plug in USB,
now windows finds a 'semc flash' device, but hangs there.
Something is severing the internet connection ( USB internet dongle )
at this point the PC is locked .

Any hope for this X8?

Not rooted, no ROMs, just won't boot past SE logo.
Can't get into ADB as before this happened, the development box wasn't ticked.
Could do with someone telling me how to get into Fastboot (and if it's possible).
Much love ~
just relax mate, reflash using SEUS (Sony ericson update service) download it on sony ericsson.. just follow the instuction in it and it will be alright.
Hi there,
The SEUS thing is rubbish. I hold the back button like it asks (when plugging in USB) and doesn't allow me to progess. The other application (PCC) is not what I need, but SEUS is in the right direction.
Got SEUS working, installed the original update.
Then installed xrecovery and rooted and threw a 2.3 ROM on. Looking good!
Case closed!

[Q] My Xperia Play bricked?! Need help T.T

Apologize that I am still a newbie, I don't know much about technical terms.
Yesterday, I flash my ARC via x10 Flasher to get the latest update with LT15i_4.0.A.2.368_Generic Global.tft. I finally got my ARC fully updated.
Today, I was mistakenly update my Xperia Play using LT15i_4.0.A.2.368_Generic Global.tft via X10Flasher also. However, I didn't notice or have known before that they're using separated FW and I accidentally use Arc's FW to Play...
The result that my Play got bricked??? The screen got only light and no SE logo appeared. The power button got red light on it.
I tried both SEUS and PC Companion to flash back to Original FW but It didn't help.
When I connected to PC Companion, the software informed that I connected LT15i, infact it must be R800i -.-*
Any method to recover my Xplay to Original FW?
R800i Asia I think
Please help I felt that I was so stupid that I did such a stupid thing...
T3T
I had nearly the same Problem. Maybe this might help, it helped for me.
1. FULLY CHARGE YOUR PHONE!!! I was told to remove battery for 30minutes, then put it back in but without sim card and withough SD Card. Then plug the charger back and charge for at least 5 hours!!!
2. Connect your Phone in Fastboot mode (blue light) by pressing the searchbutton before connecting.
3. Update your drivers with the provided Fastboot drivers of this forum
4. Do the steps of relocking your play through Fastboot
5. Try SE Update again with the Software
Ill keep my fingers crossed for you, I know how you re feeling...

Where can I find X8 stock ROM with GUI?

Guys, my wife's X8 just got busted..
touchscreen is gone.. display is still there but not responding to touch anymore.
(I did everything I can.. so confirmed it's a hardware issue).
I've flashed this to a custom ROM.
How can I flash this back to stock 1.6? Along with the SE GUI?
I ran search on forum and found I need to download SE PC Companion, or SEUS.. will that do the trick? I need confirmation because my internet connection at home is quite slow, and I need to send this back for warranty ASAP.
Thanks all.
Yeah, download SEUS, select repair and it will install stock 2.1
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Thanks Godra..
However I found this from SE Website..
How to use
1. On the computer: Start PC Companion.
2. Connect the USB cable to your computer and then to the phone..
3. On the phone: Select the "Connect your phone" option.
4. Wait for the phone to connect.
5. On the computer: From the Dashboard, select the applications to start different services and get information.
----
Issue is the touchscreen is busted, so I can't select the "Connect your phone" option.
Any other flashing method to get back to stock without them noticing that I've modded?
use the Flashtool.
You´ll have the choice beetween different 1.6 and 2.1 ROMs, and you just need to putn your phone into flashmode for this, so you don´t have to touch the screen.
You can try x10 flashtool. I would post you a link to the thread but im currently on my x8 so you ll have to use search...

Thanks codfreak and Godra.. I'll try first and see how it goes.
Appreciate your help. God bless!
Dear all, I found out that I've made a nandroid backup of the original stock ROM and saved it on my computer hard disk (see.. always do a nandroid backup!)
Anyway, I have xRecovery installed on the phone.. how do I uninstall it?
Flash with SEUS. You need first to turn OFF your phone (better to pull out battery). Run SEUS, choose your phone, next.
When SEUS asks, put your battery in while pressing back button. It will restore original Eclair.
unfortunately after using Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0, the app is unable to detect my phone.
Upon connect via USB, it asked me to do something to the phone.. which require touchscreen interaction before it could identify..

You are not trying SEUS?
I think there is no need to touch anything on phone because SEUS is needed your phone to turn off.
wc_how, yeah I didn't use SEUS.. hehe..
Oh well, I sent the phone after nandroid restore.. stock ROM.. as it is..
At the service center, one lady tested my phone.. checked the hardwares.. all appears ok, no sign of drop.. while I explained about the touchscreen issue..
All of a sudden she enters xRecovery before I knew it.. and she was greeted by this smirking Android face...
She paused, take a look at me... I smiled...
She turned the phone off and said "Ok, we're going to replace the touchscreen for you, please sign here - here's your reference number, we will call you - or you can call us when the device is ready"
And I was off.. hehehe
Your lucky then, enjoy

Someone help me
Try pc companion or seus
You'll want to use the PC Companion or SEUS to fix the problem. If you don't have either of them, you can get PC Companion here. Start up the program, plug in your phone. You'll want "repair device". Just follow the instructions to and it'll help you get back to the stock firmware.
