if you really wanted to be a smart ass you would have pointed out that it should go in the off topic forum but as the guy who found it is a slide user he posted it in the general area for his phone and i thank him for that because i found it amazing and posted it to all my friends(expecially iphone fanboys)

Post counts isn't the point here also the way I see is that the more posting you have the higher the chances of you making an ass of yourself. In this case which is found to be true. I guess for the members like myself that has been here longer the June 2010 know that there is an EVO General sub forum. I begged The_Scotsman for an Off-Topic subforum for the Epic but was told no other device has that and they were not going to start a precedent here. There is one general off-topic thread for Android and that's it. So we are stuck with off-topic posts in General. Shouldn't prevent people from helping out though.

It takes requests to head moderators to have a new forum made. There is a main off-topic forum here

But I don't think you will get the exposure this needs. It is more troublesome when 10 people make new threads on "How to stop OTA notifications" rather than threads like this but that doesn't seem to irritate the same people as a single thread like this does.

Thanks for informing us of this terrible situation. Hopefully XDA as a whole can have a bigger impact on this little girl and her family, than we will ever know!

Don't post them in the first place is the easy answer. Call me crazy but when I come to the Epic General section I expect to read about general epic topics not some vote for me threads, help me with my family issues I created, or donate to me, etc. All the nonsense just drives folks away.

No kidding! I understand getting frustrated by an off topic post from time to time, but when it is something like this, deal with it. XDA is supposed to be a community. I don't know about you, but in my "communities" we help others when we can. Like the Milkman said, the title was very clear. If the topic is of no interest to you, keep it moving.

Well its not... eh sort of just ordered my gnex today. Soo pretty soon here I will being jumping forums. Id just like to start an appreciation thread. I don't know if most people realize this but, this forum is in pristine organization. Looking at my new forum... it is SO unorginized so crowded, and people hardly get along. Here people collaborate, help, and inform. However we do have our flame wars.... but those are soon resolved. Also people here are very appreciative... I don't know how or what exactly I did to deserve 900+ thanks... but people sure do appreciate things. Anyways to wrap this up id just like to say thanks for the wonderful expierence with android and xda. Had it not been for the orginized and close-nit community we have here in the Epic 4g forum I would still be running an out-dated version of android or a bloated version.

That is soooooo True!!! I don't understand why the other forums can not keep it like the EPIC 4G Forums. Other than the keyboard, Its one of the reasons I haven't jumped phones yet. Anyways, Best of luck to you over there.

So far so good... was on stock for about 10 minutes then rooted and flashed a custom rom and kernel. I was a little upset when I thought I bricked it... but figuring out what I did wrong I was set up in no time.
