Hi,
I'm new in XDA, and using Moto APAC leak.
I found a lot of themes can display battery percentate, but I only want to change the battery icon and keep the others original.
Tried the UOT Kitchen , but my milestone will hang and keep on boot animation.
Can someone guide me how to change the battery icon to display percentage only?
I don't get you. You want only the battery % to be displayed on the status bar? A snapshot of what you want would be good.
Just for info, the following png files in the /res/drawable-hdpi folder of the framework-res.apk are responsible for your battery display.
stat_sys_battery_0.png
stat_sys_battery_10.png
stat_sys_battery_20.png
stat_sys_battery_40.png
stat_sys_battery_60.png
stat_sys_battery_80.png
stat_sys_battery_100.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim0.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim1.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim2.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim3.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim4.png
stat_sys_battery_charge_anim5.png

Hi sileshn,
Thanks for your reply, but I saw some battery icons can show more levels.
Did someone create this kind of battery icon for MOTO Froyo 2.2 APAC leak or the official Froyo 2.2?

For that you need to do some XML edits and add extra battery icons. Milestone only supports increments of 10, so in reality you can add 30,50,70 and 90% icons but you need to know how to do it.

u will need metamorph.apk to get it work

This is a ported version of the HTC slate skin from sense 2.0 for Oxygen 2.1.3
I love the look of the new sense but I also love the speed and lightness of Oxygen.
Initial theme was done using UOT kitchen and I then substitute some drawable-hdpi and edited some XML:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Feel free to mod it as you please and share it on this post.
I am open to suggestion to make it closer to the original look
Theme ->OxySlate2.zip
Theme with Blue Status bar icons -> OxySlate2-blueic.zip
Locker skin for Widgetlocker from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004437
Dock for launcherpro ripped and modded by me : Dock.png
New Dock with different Browser icon :Dock1.png
Wallpaper : Wallpaper
FancyWidget Slate Clock skin : SlateClock.zip Unzip it under - Android >Data > FancyWidget >Clock Skins
Blank PNG to substitute with launcherpro icons : Blank icon.png
Changelog
Code:
01/06/11
Updated Theme for 2.1.3 compatibility
will keep only blue status bar icons version as final version.
05/05/11
Fixed wifi blue status bar icons that were looking bad
03/05/11 V2 Blue Status Icons
Made a new version with stock Gingerbread Status bar icons for wifi, mobile network and battery but in blueish color. Check screenshot.
01/05/11 V2
Changed Battery look
Changed notification status bar to look closer to original one
Progress bar color change
New Dock with higher quality browser icon
01/05/11
Fixed random FC after menu text color was changed
you can either change the xml code for the writing or more easily
and better looking imo, make the popup menus black, like how they
are in gingerbread by changing :
menu_background_fill_parent_width.9.png
menu_background.9.png
menu_separator.9.png
These files are in framework-res or maybee systemui for gingerbread, im not sure.
I think these are the files for the menus but have a look and
see if they look like the same thing, you can just swap them for some
stock gingerbread ones which are black.
What's the name of the clock? FancyWidgets?
@esk02k Thanks for the tips, I was thinking about keeping the white background as in the Slate skin but I will probably go for a dark background until I find a solution
@Csharpe Yes it is Fancy Widget, could not find a Slate skin for it though so it is the standard H7C one.
Edit: I just made my own skin for FancyWidget, links on first post.
ok check out this post and a few posts onwards.

i was in the same boat but never solved it because its hidden somewhere for
htc sense. I was trying to turn the menus black and the text white,
for stock android you should be able to sort it tho.
its in styles.xml
I really love the slate theme, will give this a try.

Thanks Man that pointed me to the right direction and I got it fixed.
Great! I like it.
This might just get me back to AOSP! Awesome!
This looks amazing! Thank you so much!
Is it possible to have a launcher with an arrow for the app drawer for the dock? Thanks.

I guess it should be cut from a Desire HD screenshot and edited. I will try if I have time.
Just made a new version with stock gingerbread icons on statusbar but I modified the to glow in blue so that they blend better with this theme.
Zip on first post
Great work! Just tested the theme on Oxygen 2.1.1 and it looks fantastic. The blue is not too strong so in my opinion looks great! Keep up the good work!
One request if possible, can the battery percentage be removed?
Would anyone be able to make this into a Theme Chooser theme for CM7? I'd love them forever!
I am having FCs on Oxygen 2.1.2, PLEASE update!
Can you update this for 2.1.3?

Agreed, this was a great theme.
Updated Theme for 2.1.3 compatibility. I will keep only the version with blue icons on status bar.
Looking Fabulous. It's simple, and elegant....like me really. No seriously thanks for the update, and its a great tribute to not just yourself, but to the UOT Kitchen, which grows from strength to strength.
Will we be seeing a Dev-null version?
Thanks and Regards.
must have on my phone

I do not plan to do a devnull version but you never know
I did this theme for myself and I am happy with Oxygen, If anybody wants to convert it for devnull, feel free to do so and share.
So guys, two days ago I made my first attempt in making my own theme in UOT Kitchen and faced some problems.I tried to search for "UOT Problems" but you know,I found waaaaaaaaay too many!
What is the problem?Well,I choose another icon set, another battery icon, other statusbar, overscroll glow and animations, and cook after much waiting and swearing.Everything works and changes ok,except for the goddamn icons. It like accepts only the new battery icon, not the whole icon set.For example,I want to set Androidian icons(closest to Gingerbread's stock icons I think?Cause that's what I want),but I'm still left with these fugly Sense icons.Any ideas?Am starting to hate it already!
And yes,I uploaded all three files needed(com.htc.resources.apk,framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk)for Gingersense roms and in summary I checked and all was green to go.
Many thanks in advance!Hope that those of you who tried will understand!
No one?
Come on,I will share my themes with you guys!
Just to say that I had the same problem and I didn't solve it
I've seen some screenshots of U8800 (posted on these forums) with circle battery mod for the notification bar..... anyone know where I can get this?
Also, does anyone know if there is a fully functional black (gingerbread(ish)) style notification bar out there? I've just come from a HTC Desire and love the black notification.
Thanks

I can say this, it seems like there is quite few people who got the u8800. Thus I seen no themes and less response when you need help.
It's Circular battery Indicator with % (No root required)
Now you can use UOT kitchen to customize your own frameworks:
http://uot.dakra.lt/
You can also use stockwells theme, with black status-bar and circle battery:

this isn't what the thread starter wanted.
this app does not take the position of the "stock" battery icon, but it adds another one at the left of the bar.
i am interested in installing this mod, but there are so many similar threads and i can't understand which one of these is suitable for us (the Ideos X5 owners).

I haven't used the Black Infinitium theme in a long time, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't change the stock icon shape, it just changes the the color... well... to white.
Unless you're referring to the default battery icon it comes with, which is definitely un-stock-like (is that even a word? ). However, that can easily be fixed. Assuming you're using the ROM you have listed in your signature...
LG Nexus 4: CrDroid Build 23

... You should have the ability to switch the battery style. I can't test this, as I don't own a Nexus 4 and have never used CrDroid, but according to the ROM's OP, it has the ability to switch the battery style to percentage text and battery icon... So I'll assume it does. Thus, if that's truly the case, all you got to do is apply the Black Infinitium theme, go into your settings, change your battery style to battery icon (or experiment with whatever other battery style options CrDroid offers) until you find the stock-like white battery icon. I know when I rocked AOKP and the Black Infitium theme, I could do just that. Hopefully your ROM can do the same. :good:
Anyways, let me know how it goes. Hopefully you get what you're looking for.

Thanks but it changes more than the status bar icons e.g. volume seeker and gives the phone a more darker look leaving it stock background colour
I got the white status bar icons needed but cant make a theme
Seriously, I have searched high and low for a LONG time, back to when I was running CM 9 and 10 on my Nexus S 4G for a theme that ONLY changes the status bar icons to white and have still came up with nothing. I feel like that'd be something in high demand and easy to find but I guess not. I mean, even changing the overscroll glow and highlighting would be nice. I've considered learning how to theme just do make one lol. If anyone could help us out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, it's the media folder. The exact path is /system/media.
@fahadsul3man; Be sure the animation .zip is called bootanimation.zip and has the following permissions: rw-r--r--. Reboot your phone and you should be good to go. A suggestion, be sure to make a backup of your original bootanimation.zip in case you ever wish to revert back; this can be done by adding the extension .bak to the end of the bootanimation.zip.

Battery icons in framework-res.apk
Signal/clock in systemui.apk
Change pngs for battery/signal to what ever you want keeping the file names exactly the same
If your rom doesn't support 1% battery pngs (each png represents a 1%-100% plus same for charging) you will need to implement the 1% battery mod - links in signature
Clock colour edit the line of xml in status_bar.xml for the hex code of the clock
