When you touch the home button the these lights turn on before screen light, aren't they independent?

it is not a bug, it is by design...they dont have a backlight. Anyway, it's only four buttons, you can guess where they are, even in the dark...

i found myself using it at outside at night the other day and i found it rather pathetic having to guess where the buttons were.
it just seems unbelieveable that the buttons not lighting up at night was left out/not considered. i was surprised at how angry and frustrated i felt at the time.
They probably should have put glow in the dark markers on them.
Regarding these bottons , Is it possible when recieving a phone call and trying to pick up the device that the bottons will accidently be pressed b/c they are touch sensitive ?? the same thing with the screen when it is on your ear !
Is there a way to lock the hardware bottons once the phone ringing (to use the software bottons instead) and locking the screen after answering ?
waiting for replies..
You wait - time passes
Yes it's possible, I have accidentally made calls when I didn't want to. You can always push the standby button at the top. This disables the TS and touch sensitive buttons.
How about holding down the end key button to lock the device?

I think HTC have forget to do it possible to turn off the vibrator on the Home, Menu. Back and Search buttons at the bottom, when the make the HTC Wildfire.
So are there somebody who know if it possible to disable the vibrator in some kind of way, for this buttons?
2)
When the battery is under 15%, the battery indicator flashes continuously.
Is it possible to turn that off?

It's not possible to turn the Flashing LED off using any off the setting. Rooted? that's another story.

Oooh, very nice! Thank you man, this is what I've dreamed about since I got my Wildfire, to disable that!
Do you also know if it possible to disable vibrator, in the 'Phone' when I enter a number?

1) I don't think you can disable the vibrator in the 'phone', only the audible tone.
2) Yea we must wait till a ''Hard Root'' (which will be soon)
I got both settings at menu - screen and sound

Can't disable Haptic feedback
It is not highlighted and can't be ticked, are there any other ways?
Seriously, I'm already really missing the blinking trackball of my Nexus One flashing ever second in different colors depending on what notification I have.
No Led is sort of working, but when I hit the power button it just turns the screen off and then the icon is there again, so I have to kind of hold it just long enough for it to turn the screen back on, but not long enough to make it launch the dialogue box in which i can choose to put it in airplane mode or power it off.
I suspect it won't be long before someone figures out how to put a part of that OLED screen to use as a notification light...

Better, imo, since NoLED drains more battery than this.
Does anybody read?
I said I AM using NoLED but it's giving me problems.
dinan, that app says it's only for 2.1...would it still work?

You have to hit the Home button to show the lock screen.

There's a froyo link, but no that's meant for the Galaxy S international version. I was just pointing it out because I think someone will port it to the Nexus S soon, so I don't suggest trying it on your phone just yet.

Thanks. That helps, but I guess the way NoLED works is that it turns on the screen each time you ask it to blink...and with the Nexus S there's that stupid screen off animation. So that keeps happening everytime it works lol. Any way to turn that off?
I can't find the options in the menu and the search is useless. Abby way to keep them from turning on?
Galaxy Button Lights in the play store.
The "feature" to turn them off was started with s6 and note 5 if I'm not mistaken. I know I had to use the app on my old at&t note 5 as well.

Not on all phones. Weirdly enough my first had it but my second didn't.
It's weird but my S7E doesn't have the 'touch key light duration' option
