[Q] igo8 voice on bluetooth device - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys
I got nand rom installed on my hd2 (tried several ones) and have also a bluetooth device built in my car. when I get calls I hear them through the bt in my car and it's great.
My problem is when I installed igo 8 nav. and the only way that I can hear the guide voice is through the bt in my car the moment I have a phone call. and I couldn't find a way to hear throuh my hd2. BTW, when I had winmo on my device there was no problem, I heard the phone calls through the car bt and the igo8 through the device.
I wonder is there a solution in android rom?
Thanks for any help.

Best setup for using both a carkit and GPS Nvigation?!

I am soon to buy the Magician in one of it's many forms. However noe thing i have been woundering is how am i am going to achieve the in-car setup i desire. Basically I need both a carkit (conversation through car stereo speakers etc) and i also want to run GPS navigation on the Magician. First of all is this possible? What happens if i am using the GPS and i recieve a call? Also what hardware are people using to achieve this as i assume i can't use both a bluetooth carkit and a bluetooth GPS reciever?! any hlp is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom,
I've got an iMate Jam & recently installed a Parrot BTluetooth CK3300 GPS Car Kit into my 1999 RAV4. The installation was pretty straight forward for cars with ISO connection, simply put in the mic, GPS ant & control display, plug into the car harness & HiFi & off you go. The GPS part of the kit is simply & effective, I use Tom Tom Navigator 5 & it's pretty faultless, obtaining a fix in seconds. Here's the bad part, the call quality through the kit using the Jam is AWFUL. Making and receiving calls is accompanied by a loud, high pitched warbling sound which eventually subsides, but is replaced by so much interference that the call is unworkable. I know it's not the kit because my wife's SE T68i works flawlessly. Everything else about the setup works perfectly (pairing muting, upgrading via BT etc etc). This a MAJOR problem which I have sent on to Parrot & am waiting for a reply. I understand they are pretty good at customer enquiries and expect them to come back to me pretty soon. I'll post again when I hear something. Despite all the bad press the Jam gets I think it's the best one I've owned so far (I'm on my 5th) and with the right software is excellent, but the choice of car kit is essential, until these problems are ironed out I wouldn't recommend using the PDA with a BT carkit.
Apart from the poor audio, how does it work when you are being navigated by TomTom and you receive a call? Does TomTom stop talking to you? Does the display show who's calling and then go back to tomtom display etc?
Hi there,
I have a MDA compact with now the QTEK 1.12 ROM, I have a bluetooth GPS Fortuna Clip-on and a Mr Handsfree Genius Bluetooth Carkit and I love it.
As soon as I start my car, there is a bluetooth connection to the carkit and the sound quality is excellent. You can make a call without getting the MDA out of your pocket, just push the button. The only issue is voice dialing, but that is a common problem for the MDA.
Also it makes a bluetooth connection to the GPS and Tomtom works fine. The only minus is that Tomtom doesn't use the carkit speaker, but, since the speaker of the MDA is loud enough, that is no issue. There is no supply with this bluetooth carkit, so I bought a 12 --> 5 Volt converter for the MDA.
I really love this combination. The best thing, that happened to me.

so it is possible then to have two bluetooth connections running at the same time? ie. i can use a bluetooth GPS reciever such as the one that is supplied with tom tom and also use any bluetooth carkit at the same time? and this will not cause any problems even if i am making a call and have the GPS running?! If so then i will probably just buy the Tom Tom 5 bluetooth kit and get something like a parrot CK3000? would this setup work?
thanks for everyones help,
Tom
It should work. Mine does. See above. Bluetooth GPS uses a serial profile, bluetooth headset uses a headset profile. No problem to use them both at the same time.
Andre
I used my Jam as phone, mp3 player and GPS all at the same time.
1. MP3 thru my car's aux input
2. GPS thru aux input:
hardware: Tomtom BT receiver
Software: Routis 2, TomTom USA 2004 (can open both if U use GPSGate)
3. Phone thru BT headset or aux input
To answer yr question:
Since I can use both BT GPS and BT headset together. I don't think it's a problem for both BT carkit and BT GPS to works.
Phone call always get highest prioity, all other apps (GPS software, mp3 player) will be mute until U finished yr call.
Phone call is not a problem (see above) but dialing is a big trouble since no voice calling built-in. Third partner software like intellidialer and voice commander (from MS or Cyberon) helps a bit
Ive also got my jam working fine incar. I use a socket bluetooth gps unit http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119717 with tomtom 5 then I have a SE HBH-600 Akono Bluetooth Headset for calls both work together! When I have a incoming call it mutes tomtom and displays the normal caller id app on top, answering the call (via the green hardware button) results in my jam going to the phone app totally and leaving tomtom minimized in the background. As soon as the call ends tomtom jumps back to the foreground, it all works very well in my opinion. Ive also assigned the camera button to switch me back to the today screen so I can launch any app (with tomtom still running in the background) via a icon.

phone use while using TomTom6

Having a question, how do you guys use your phone (incomming and outgoing calls) AND TomTom6 at the same time? I mean, when you are in TT6 and my phone rings, TT6 'minimizes/goes to background' during the phone conversation. After ending my phone call, TT6 again appears. Is it possible to still get the route suggestions with the TT6 voices while making phone calls? And is it also possible to have a separate screen in the HTC 9000 so you can see AND TT6 AND your Phone? (I make most calls handsfree in the car so this would be great!).
Also, is it possible to have the HTC 9000 connect to my Pioneer radio/cd player to get TomTom over my car speakers?
no ideas anyone?
really really no clues?
That's strange.
Mine is minimizing when the call is incoming but appears again in mute mode when I answer. I'm also using phonealarm car profile to automatically enable speaker.
But I do no think you can have voth displays.
My suggestion would be to map a hardware button to switch task.

Firstly, I do not have a Navigator6 device but do intend to get one. Therefore, I cannot answer the following:

As far as the following is concerned:

No, because no HTC device support multi-monitors and split-screens.
And finally:
Also, is it possible to have the HTC 9000 connect to my Pioneer radio/cd player to get TomTom over my car speakers?
Yes, this is possible. You can use the S/PDIF jack and hook it up to the amplifier of your car (yes, you will need an amplifier for you car's audio system to do this). ANother way is the wireless-but-low-quality-audio way which involves using a Bluetooth headset hooked up again to your car's amplifier.

Which version of TomTom are you running (the build number) and have you installed the TomTom BT drivers?
I use TT 6.030. Don t know what BT drivers are............
I use TT6.
After phone rings (i asume u using bluetoth hands free)other ways how d you look at the screen., i pres button on my hands free, and screen stase on TT.
When i left my BT at home, i pres unswer, and then loud speeker, and then tiny TT icon at the bottom of the screen, and it pops up. after hanging the call TT stays .
It also works with my IGo 2006.
When I use TT6 with my MDA Pro with a bluetooth headset and I answer a call the bluetooth connection to the gps temporarily drops then reinstates however after the call is hung up the gps signal to tomtom seems to delay by around 30 secs/
does anyone else experience this and do they have a remedy.

Bluetooth Carkit + TouchHD

Hi everybody!
I've used several Nokia Symbian devices before my TouchHD and I've always used them with onboard navigation together with a bluetooth carkit.
Nokia 6600 + Parrot CK3500
Nokia N80 + Parrot CK3500
Nokia N80 + Parrot LS3400GPS
The great thing of this combination was, that every voice command from my navi software was transmitted over my car speakers and the radio was muted!
But with my Bury CC9060 and my TouchHD this great feature doesn't work!
1. Is there a special bluetooth protocoll needed?
2. How can I make sure wether it is the blackstones or the carkits fault, that I don't get voice commands over the car speakers?
3. When I start the MP3 Player in Manila the bluetooth carkit also keeps silent.
Nobody? Here are so many WM experts. Someone must have an answer!
Hello
What version of software are you running in the cc9060?
The latest is v1.74 and this works well with the Touch HD, all contacts are there only battery power level is not working on mine.
The problem you have might be that the car kit connects by default on A2DP and trys to output sat-nav and music via this, if you do not have the cc9060 connected to a aux input you will not hear the audio.
To get around this you can always disconnect the A2DP in the options of the phone ,Comm manager>Settings>Bluetooth>cc9060> then untick wireless stereo
then audio will come out of phones loudspeaker
I have my Touch HD and cc9060 connected to my Focus aux-in and use it as music player while running TomTom, the phone then overlays sat-nav directions over playing music they work well together, the touch screen music controls work well with manillla player and allow control of music without interupting tomtom
If you need to update cc9060 you can get new software from bury's website at
http://www.bury.com/en/hands-free-car-kits/system-bt-bluetooth-systems/cc-9060/software.html
hope this helps
CC9060 Software is already the latest: 1.74
I found these checked bluetooth options:
Wireless Stereo
Hands Free
I'll give that a try and uncheck Wireless Stereo!
Do you already know, that bury will release an actice cradle for the Touch HD in June/July 2009! Then I am able to load the battery while driving.
Update:
With unchecking bluetooth stereo, the navi software uses the phone speakers, whereas it is connected to the CC9060.
But there are still two disadvantages:
- Radio ist not muted when a call comes in.
- Not as loud as the car speakers
I've written to bury and they've answered me the same:
The device must be connected to AUX to hear something over the car speakers.
One question is still unanswered:
What is the reason, that Nokia devices where able to transmit the navigation commnands over the car speakers?
Bury mentioned, that the handy must support this!
Hi Pal
I have the parrot Ck3100 and it would play the sat-nav commands via the stereo speakers with my N95 but won't with the Blackstone. So it must be WM or the Touch HD that is not sending commands to the carkit. I also noticed that with my N95 when I got a text the sms alert was played through the car speakers the touch Hd does not do this.
Hope that helps and if you find a solution I would love to know.
Sully
Damn! Is it the handy operating system or the handy-brand?
As you mentioned already your symbian device is doing it right. But the WM6.1 device fails!
Maybe I should test it with the new omnia HD (also symbian OS) if it works!
Please report back if you find ourt anything more, I am sure it must be possible maybe with a reg tweak.
Sully
At the moment I don't see any possibilities to get that to work.
The manufacturer of the my new bluetooth car kit (bury) said, that it is very seldom, that a mobile phone sends navigation commands to the carkit. They are also not testing this feature, when they are adding a mobile phone to their supported phones list.
Should't a carkit in handsfree mode work as a headset?
Even Parrot was unable to say which device is generally sending every sound to the their carkit. But they said, that their carkit is reacting on EVERY activity from the mobile phone, when it is in handsfree mode.
We need more feedback from carkit / navigations users to finde the weak point!
Hi Pal
Just been reading about vjvolubilis and btmusic and some diamond users have managed to make it work. I have just installed it and will try it out on the way home tonight.

So those are the right apps? Are they free and maybe also available here?
I could test them, too.
they are free to use, i had some success with vjvoubilis. it worked but kept muting the stereo even though there were no commands from tomtom. for btmusic you need .net
sully
btmusic wants to have 2.0. But in my Rom .net 3.5 is already included. Does it work with you?
EDIT: After installing v2.0 via activesync btmusic starts but then a message "license expired 01/09/2008" appears.
I had to download .net 2 to make it work, the phone still works fine after installing version 2 and I am running duttys 2.7rom. Link for .net2 found on this page under requirments http://maxmobilesoft.com/index.php/software/btmusic
Sully
I thought in v3.5 v2 is icluded.
Get it to work now, too. But:
How did you solve the license expired message? Setting back the system language is starting the programm but not a solution for always.
use the link I provided above, you have to register to download but that version doesn't have licence problem.
Sully
Thanks a lot, but I've registered now, too. The app works.
But I am to tired to walk down to the car and test it. Maybe in a few hours after sleeping for a while.
go to sleep man and check it in the morning, there is no rush.
Sully
i cant get my hd to work with my intergrated bluetooth either.
i have tried software call JETware, that many people talk about... still my phone will not ask for the pairing passcode(password or key).
Any help would be great.
thanks
btmusic didn't solve my problem.
Igo8 did not talk to me via bluetooth and the manila music player, too.

Bluetooth handsfree problem

Has anyone got any suggestions regarding the following problem:
HTC Tattoo (UK Orange but flashed with stock ROM)
Nolia CK-1W Bluetooth in-car handsfree kit with Telemute harness(sound through car stereo)
Phone paired with system and connects perfectly every time I get in the car.
Outgoing calls work perfectly.
Incoming calls - mutes music on stereo, rings over stereo, pickup via phone or handsfree remote button NO SOUND from caller(though I can hear them on the phone speaker).
Seems to me that it's either a bug in the Bluetooth implementation on the phone or a setting I havent found. (It works fine with my Nokia E51)
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi...!
I have the same Problems with my Nissan Car Headset from Factory with Android 2.1 and 2.2...! Similar Problems are with the HTC Wildfire and HTC Desire
I can connect the phone with the System, Phonebook reading, take calls and arrive calls but i cant hear anything (on both sides)
With my original Tattoo Rom 1.6 its working perfect and Audio Streaming too...
according to the German HTC Support the problem is well known and they are working to fix the problem... but i cant find other Android users with the same Problems except you
Why????
Thanks

[Q] car kit bluetooth competability issues

Hi,
I have a SE hcb300 bluetooth car kit which worked perfectly with HTC cruise.
I upgraded to HD2 and now i have some problems with it.
I can pair my phone with the BT but i cant accept or initiate calls from the car kit. ( I know that HD2 has no voice commands so not being able to dial out is not such an issue but i want to be able to accept calls from the cat kit).
If I dial out or accept a call from the phone itself it is transferred via the car kit's speaker.
i read that the problem is in the BT stack used in HD2.
Is there a way to change it or is there any rom that uses a different BT stack?
Thanks,
David
I have never used any bluetoothheadphoes or car kits with my HD2, but it does have voice commands - if you download and install Microsoft Voice Command v1.6.
The voice commands feature is less important - I really need the ability to accept calls with the car kit.
Will android installation help?
Hi !
Exact same issue since months with my HTC HD2 on my Audi S3, never been able to find any working solution yet :-(
Seems to me that HTC and MS doesn't really care.
