New Wildfire User Needs Advice - Wildfire General

hi all
having only recently become a htc owner myself (10 days ago) today my better half got herself a wildfire
iv already been in touch with someone about having it s-off'ed but was wondering what is the most CLEAN, STABLE FAST ROM on offer to the wildfire?
it does NOT have to be new just the above
and please im asking for your views please dont tell me its personal preference and to give them all a try as this is not an option
many many thanks
paul

For your requirements, I will probably go with Sunnabh or InsertCoin, which is much newer but seems to be getting good reviews. Both are built for providing a clean and stable experience.

[ROM] [11.03] v0.2 Beta InsertCoin A2SD or[ROM][10/3]-ImPrOS- v1.2 - 2nd Release (you need to create an ext2 partition)

Many thanks for your reply but I don't want a beta or rc roms as they will get updated and ill have to flash it again and this is my Mrs phone so I want to flash it once n sort out the laggy sh*t for her but granted I no jack about the wildfire to be fair I no jack about HTC as I got my 1st HTC (desire hd) like 2 weeks ago

[Q] Did the Desire HD roms lead to a dead end?

..As in, there havent been many updates from the devs for some time on DesireHD roms- is there a particular reason? Is the camera still the main hickup? Thanks
I`d love to have a Desire HD build with working camera, I`d use it undoubtedly! I love the new Sense interface with Skins, it`s wonderful!
It hasn't stopped, but there's so many things all happening at once that some things take a lot longer. With the hd builds the camera was the main issue, they had to wait for HTC to release the kernel source before it could be worked on properly...now the main development is focused on getting it to work on the desire as that is closest to our hd2's. Once its all sorted with the desire it shouldn't be long before its all ported to hd2. With the previous desire builds they are a good deal of the way to getting everything all worked out for us, but with the hd builds and the new kernels, they pretty much have to go back to square one and custom build everything all over again. Also with the upcoming release of magldr for nand install Android, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the devs are collaborating to get everything ironed out on that so the release is as smooth as possible, once the hype has died down after the release of magldr, maybe hd development will resume a bit more quickly. Hope this helps...I know, its hard being patient when the available builds are so damned tempting already!

Hey, rather than starting a new thread just thought I'd ask here.
Can someone please links to the threads containing desire HD (with Sense) ROMs and just give a quick outline of what is and isn't working. Hope it's not too much trouble
(and i tried searching but I got too many results )
Cheers x

android gingerbread

what are the main benefits or features of updating htc desire hd to gingerbread when it comes out,, or gingerbread is just a minor update
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Check the dev forums of the DHD, theres a thread called android revolution 4.0 bets, you ahve some screenshots there. I flashed the beta, and although it has several issues, they really upped sense in a good way
I've tried the Android Revolution gingerbread.. although its beta but so far so good.. some additional function added for example the proxy support..
i'm on leedroid beta GB, its already fully functional, just had a little need of tweak here and there.
its good upgrade though!
Have used Android revolution gingerbread for two days, every thing looks good so far.

Official Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0

Greetings to all! The other day there was news! In the network be leaked the new OFFICIAL ROM for the HTC Desire S based on Android 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 3.0. Accordingly, HTC Sense 3.0 does not need to optimize and change resolution... Are there any advantages in this for our wonderful HTC HD2?
Link to threat Desire S is HERE
BUMP!!
Well what caught my eye is on post 18 he says it comes with the newest stock kernal. This might be the kernal we need to get sense 3.0 running without all the glitches. Hopefully a developer will see this or someone more knowledgable then me and comment on it. Im just a lonely soul that likes to mod my phone so i have no direct knowledge of what we will be able to get from this exactly. I do know our device can run Desire s builds so I'm atleast thinking their could be a port down the road. Would be great if there was. I'll have to go back and read a lot more in detail about it first because i made this comment without reading all of it first, i was to excited.
We need the sourcecode of the kernel not the kernel itself. And we need it from the original desire and not the desire s. The desire s has different hardware.
Oh bummer

Getting My Desire HD

Hi, i should have my Desire HD soon and am very excited.
I recently sold a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (was rooted) and was wondering whether or not i should root my new phone and why...
The reason i rooted my previous smartphone was to make it faster but this one has three times the RAM etc. So would it be worth it now?
Also, does Juice Defender require root? It really helped my battery life with my Xperia X10...
Thank in advance!
I have one myself I have it rooted and installed with a custom rom called "Android Revolution HD™ 7.0.0" Great custom rom, would be a shame to not install ;D
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
Why not go for an ICS version? The IceColdSandwich is really nice, have a look at the android development forum of DHD.
While you are still waiting for your brand new DHD, why not prepare yourself with AAHK (advanced ace hack kit) and some good custom ROM. I would recomend you to try Android Revolution HD 6.3.2 (official base with Sense 3.0) or newer 7.0.0 (Sensation XL base with Sense 3.5).
Just don't wait too long to just rooted your phone and install custom ROM, cause once you have grip with good custom ROM like those cooked by mike1986 or JSLEnterprise you will never wanna go back to stock ROM with their bloated app.
I would second IceColdSandwich. Lord did a fantastic job and it has really made me appreciate my phone. When I got my Inspire (same difference as a dhd) it was really only because I needed a phone, this was free with ATT and I couldn't afford one of the "fancier" ones. Since going with an pics from, however, it feels like my phone is top of the line. Does everything I need it to do and now I can really care less if I have the newest released phone. There are still a few bugs, but Lord has been updating like mad recently so its only a matter of time before they get sorted out

Hey dude. Certainly yes to rooting it
As for Roms to use, a can recommend RCMIX3D Roms and Android Revolution Roms.
My experience of ICS Roms is not good.
But then I use my camera and camcorder loads, and they are the things that are not yet fully operational in any ICS rom.
ICS is coming to the DHD soon anyway, so properly cooked ICS Roms are not far away.
Best of luck dude.
Greg.

If you really need the root privileges then go for it otherwise you could wait a couple of months since ICS updates with sense 3.5 are going to be rolling for the DHD later this year. If you don't care about that update then get Ace hack kit, root it and I would recommend LeeDroid 5.1.1.
Good Luck!

HTC Vision YouTube ROM Showcase

-Nov. 4 2015-
I have this phone back in my hands yet again, got my mum a new phone since she hates Android. I may or may not decide to continue this series, I probably will since I'm going to start doing so on the Moto G. If there is anyone left with this phone at all that would like to see a ROM review or a ROM in action, leave a reply on the thread and I'll see what I can do. Happy watching!
-Nov. 7 2015 update-
What I'm going to do instead of like my previous recordings, I'm going to flash a ROM and use it for one week with casual use, then try and upload it the following Sunday/Monday. It might not be on a weekly basis, but I will post whenever I have a new video up. I also don't know how much I will use it on a daily basis since it's not my primary phone, but I will try to do light web browsing, occasional light gaming, and social media while also tweaking some settings and customizing it depending on the features of the rom.

That's actually what I planned on doing for this week, I'm not sure which rom since there are several good ones to choose from, I'm still figuring that out
Nice to watch :good:
Great that you're doing this I'll be adding to the vision thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348266
For suggestions on ROM videos, try to do as many different categories, you have sense, cyanogen, next miui, then maybe an aosp (guhl99s permission spoofing would be great)
Keep it up!

Great idea. Once I get a few more uploaded then I'll break up the original post into those subcategories. Hell, I take that back. I'll do it now since I have some spare time
This week's is gonna be a day late, my apologies
*Edit*
So my camera decided that it hates life, so I sadly have to skip this week's. I'll hopefully get it's problem worked out or switch over to my old external webcam
Finally found my camera charger, new upload for this week, it's a day early because I'll be busy all day tomorrow. G2 Slim v1.6 is this week's, CyanKat or Andromadus CM11 is going to be next week's.

I loved Slim's roms. I've tested some on the SGS and we had only one once on the Vision but it was good!
Would love to have SlimKat on Vision... Omni ROM look promising too but the promises of the new cyankat are impressive!
Because I am testing out demkantor's build of TWRP recovery, I will not have a video up just yet because of a bug I stumbled upon. I will however turn this from a Friday-only, I guess mini-series is the best way to explain it, into probably twice a week or so. I'll have either CyanKat or Flinny's CM11 up around Monday/Tuesday.
*Edit*
Since the person behind CyanKat is working on an update, I'm gonna postpone my video for that and focus on some other Sense and MIUI roms until it's updated. Once it is, I'll get a video on it up for you guys.
Aw come on, there's plenty of ROMs that work with my 90% working twrp, there's always my 90% working cyanmobile ROM
Keep up the good work, twice a week sounds better than one time!

New vid up, slightly longer than usual cuz I went on a rant about a few things. xD It's CoolOS's GB MIUIv3, I decided to do a MIUI build since I kept saying I'd do one but never got around to it. enjoy.
One thing I'm now going to do for you guys and gals out there is write a full review on each rom that I have done a video on, so you can get a more in-depth opinion and overview of the rom.. The first one is up in the first post, it's CoolOS's Sensei rom. Happy reading!
hope to see some new videos soon!
PS, added your great work above the ROM list FOUND HERE
Written review for G2Slim is live. New video(s) planned for the upcoming days.
New video coming up today/tomorrow after I get some rest since I just got off night shift. So, yeah. xD
I might revive this since I've been contemplating doing it with the Moto G as well, I edited the first post. Why not do both in case there are people out there still with the phone?

I'm not too sure what's out there that's specifically 2.3.4, but there are several 2.3.3 ROMs. Are you mainly after camera features, customization, speed, or all of the above?
