I was wondering if the was a rom like the g2's based on aosp froyo, with nothing else extra added on. Please let me know, because if not this may get me into rom development. If there isn't could you also give me some resources for developing roms? Thanks everyone

Sorry if I sound idiotic, but could someone explain what's different between Gingerbread and Froyo? Just trying to figure out what the benefits are of using Gingerbread compared to another build. Also, does Gingerbread have Sense? Thanks!

Neither FroYo or Gingerbread come with Sense - they have nothing to do with it. If you use a build from a device that has Sense, such as Desire HD, then you will get Sense. If you use something like a Nexus One build then you won't.

Just curious if anyone knows when or if a full fledged cm7 will be released. I've been debating whether to try one of the vanilla releases. But to be honest I would much rather wait for the modded versions.
Its amazing how popular the vanilla ones are though.

All the release so far have been based off of Cm7. Most of the tweaks and stuff are there. So give it a try.

as mentioed there are 2 but they are lacking many working features
so I tried them, they're pretty good and fast, but not for full-time use, think I'll just stick with UD for the time being, thanks anyway guys!

would there be anyway that someone could make a touchwiz 4 rom, i think that if people can make a sense 3.0 sensation port that so can a galaxy s 2 rom, If i knew anything about rom porting i would be making my own roms, But that aint going to happen any time soon . thanks A.Davies
Please don't post the same question in different forums.
I would imagine porting a touchwiz rom is possible, the main reason why it hasn't been done, is probably lack of interest from the community.
Personally I think touchwiz is nothing special.

Yeah i know i shouldnt of posted them in both of them but i wasnt sure witch one to do so i saved time by doing both of them. If anyone can give my any guide to porting roms ill do it myself and if it yeilds any results ill upload it on here.
I know u can just install the toucjizz launcher and get at least somewhat a touchjizz rom. Other than that I think your SOL

Ive tried the touchwiz launchers ( all of them ) but there nothing like it, very buggy

So I had the idea to modify Virtuous Unity quit a bit by removing all Sense and bloat, and adding some stuff. Considering the Virtuous team is taking a break, I thought I'd give everyone something new to flash while we wait for them to return.
Would anyone be interested if I uploaded the ROM in the Development section? It's basically a ROM with all the stability and functionality of Unity, but with the speed of CM7. All the details would be in the thread. But I don't want to upload it if no one will be interested. Thanks
Also, what are the rules on putting in FREE apps from the Market into a ROM, do I need the permission from each app developer, or do I just need to ensure credit is mentioned?
