after installing darky's latest rom my benchmark says it's 1422.. which is 3rd from top. but when i firstly installed darky's rom i got like 1930...
after i again installed darky's rom and whiped all the data.. i'm on 1422 what to do???
It doesn't matter. You can't use Quadrant scores for anything...
/CK
yep. quadrant is just dust in your eyes. I only used it 5 months ago when I bought the phone, and I can say that I was getting obsessed with every little score changing
I'd ask in darkys thread, or in whichever kernel's thread yr using. Failing that, post in q&a.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
It all goes down to how your phone is responding... quadrant is not a reliable tool. Ignore the score.

Very good thread. Thumbs up to poster for bringing such an important issue to us.
NOT. doublefacepalm.

No need for the sarcasm, it's posts such as this which will bring us closer to achieving honeycomb.

1. Honeycomb is not meant for phones and will not work. Wait for Ice Cream.
2. Posts about quadrant do not help development in any way.
3. Quadrant is mostly irrelevant for determining the speed of a phone.
Or was that meant to be double sarcasm?
No (now that's triple)

I Agree, this thread is in every way not development related.
I understand that some users have this kind of questions, but for this there are General, FAQ, and the ROM developement threads to ask this kind of questions.
thanks for all answers

What you need to do is to delete the benchmark app.

In another day or so this thread will get pushed to the 2 page and beyond. What makes you think they'll search for *this* thread when they won't search for all the others that talk about gps in cm7?
Well knowing there are 2 of these threads in the dev section doesn't matter to me what happens to this thread

This probably belongs in the development thread, but I don't have enough posts yet, and I'm not gonna make a bunch of posts just to get the cred. I understand, support, and respect the rule.
I have had problems with my VC settings not sticking. Every time my screen would turn off, the governor and clock settings would change. I saw on the thread that there were others with the same problem. Not finding a solution that worked, I decided to do some exploring.
In /sytem/etc/init.d there is a script called 3cpufreq_screenstate_scaling that is overriding the VC setttings. I had to change the permissions of that file to delete it, but once done, I have had no problems with my clock and governor settings.
And, just to be upfront, I am not a developer, and this post is not a criticism of marcusant's rom. The rom is fabulous. I just wanted to experiment with my cpu settings. I did copy the file as a screenstate governor can be useful.
All that being said, follow my directions, which a incomplete on purpose, at your own risk.

Actually he should have changed the name to how to fix voltage control on MarcusantRom v3.
Its actually in the best general area however probably should be in android development or added to the Rom's OP

I was thinking that it belonged as a _post_ in the Macusant ROM _thread_. That's where the issue is being dicussed, and where it is most relevant. But, like I said, I don't have the cred, and am not going to contribute a bunch of meaningless posts just to get it.

You defenitely did the right thing... that being said marcusant has said he has been having problems with voltage control... try set cpu or cpu master...

Thanks. I'm not having any issues with VC now. The problem is definitely with that script.

That is a good find. You should mention it in the ROM thread.

I do not know whether it exists or not
I just want to suggest to the moderators or developers as possible to make a poll by the chart or anything else
able to ROM, Kernel, Threads, etc.
so it helps us all see the ups and downs of something based on it and vote for the beginner to find out .. :fingers-crossed:
thank you
Wut?

Yeah, its a good idea.
Its a lot better than new users creating a new thread & asking the best ROMs available..
It serves as a good informal guide to using ROMs according to their personal requirements.
Hope the Mods do it !:fingers-crossed:
like I said chris..
poll for
ROM, thrad, member activities, and so on

Right!
It is a bad idea to compare ROMs as is impossible to judge which ROM is best as everyone has different preferences. You can only say which ROM has the most features, is the most lightweight, is the most beautiful etc.

We have plenty of helpful threads and FAQ and still nobody reads them. I mean noobs.
It's like asking "Lets have sticky notes pasted everywhere around a school so students won't ask teachers any questions" while there's a mountain load of useful books and notes on the student's table
agreed! that sure is what they want to do

So, the official update is here. Atleast in some regions while others wait for it. Though numerous roms r out with jb, I thought we could just start a thread for getting the people who wait for it excited (already excited, even so.). so, let us begin with the changes, one question I would like to ask is about the startup of phone app? Is it still slow? Thought, I felt my phone blazing fast, the instant I press phone , it just bring down the smile. . Comeon people!! Share!!!!

Oh comeon!! Repetitive?? When is this posted before? Just thought of creating a thread where everyone can share if they feel like instead of asking who wish to know the experience by looking at number of other post! Isn't this a forum which is actually built to Help other people? What is so wrong with just sharing some experience? Is it so forbidden or something? Comeon people!!

Hi guys
I'm looking for a good ROM/kernel combination that allows me more than 12 hours battery on my SII.
Over clocking is not really needed and it will need to be MHL enabled.
Thanks guys

You should never post a thread asking "Which is the best ROM for...?" or any thread asking for the "best" or "good" ROM. It is against the rules of the forum. Reason being: Every user has their tastes and preferences. Battery life also varies from user to user depending on their usage of the phone. Therefore there can be a multiplicity of variations. Go ahead, flash ROMs and see for yourself which is the best ROM. I will anyways answer your question, the best ROM is stock ROM without bloatware. Great stability and battery life.
Cheers
