Recently bought HTC wildfire and u know m quite frustrated with 2-3 issues that i am facing with the phone
1- when i send text message to any contact and he replys but the reply is shown on the top of my original message...
to make it more clear lets say i text at around 3:00 clock, now when the person replys the reply time is shown as 2:45 etc... it is very annoying as to how a person can reply before u have send the message???
i have tried using various applications like chompSMS, Handscent etc but problem is the same.
2- i cant have a chat by connecting handfree.. when i m listening songs using the htc 3.5 connect and any recieve any call.... do not listen any sound ... anf if i disconnect the handsfree the call automatically disconnects ....
is it that we cant chat using the connect in the wildfire or my set has some hardware problem becoz i am able to hear the music.
Please assist anyone...
At first when i installed the SUnAaBh v1.1 rom. I was getting your first problem. I know what you mean its very annoying. here is what i did.
At first i did the same thing as you, i had tried gosms and handscent. After installing both still had the issues. After I deleted all my threads and rebooted my phone, handscent started to display text messages properly for me. However i am getting this issues with gosms and stock htc messaging app . I just use handscent as my primary now.
I have no experience with handsfree. I have had my wildfire for 2 days now lol.
good luck sir.
You might need to find an app in the market for connecting and using blutooth headset for sound. As for the SMS issues, I contacted t-mobile (my carrier) and they said to factory reset it, did that and working perfectly now.

Ok, so I like to write messages longer than 3 texts, so I have to use handcent. So I don't know whether it's an app problem or a phone problem.
Even when I try and send messages 1 text long they don't go through.
I can have full signal or at least 2/3 bars GPRS but they don't go through. Usually it happens on GPRS though.
Any ideas?
In fact, It's stopped sending them all together now ¬¬
And I have plenty of signal (2/3 bars GPRS [more than I usually have had when sending texts])
Edit: I keep receiving them, I just can't reply
things to try:
reboot, test
reinstall handcent, test
uninstall handcent and test with default app.
wipe phone (settings will be restored, and apps will be re-downloaded for you after you log in).
I've rebooted my phone before and the problem went away but now it's back. Thinking about it I probably just had 3g when it worked. It worked again when I briefly got 3G coverage and now i've sent all of my unsent messages it seems to be working again... for now.
The problem is I can't use the stock messaging app because of the annoying auto-mms conversion thing which hasn't been sorted so I had to use Handcent. I'd love to use the stock app and I actually prefer it apart from that one annoying issue.
This sounds a little like the problem with the HD2 on stock VF rom. Some say it helped to choose 2g only for sending messages (if that setting exists on the n1).
I dont have the N1 yet, so only guessing......
I've been having the same problem since the radio update, I'm seriously frustrated with this phone right now...
Haven't noticed this issue using the stock SMS app...
Easy fix, pick up the phone and talk if it's more than two sentences.
Not. A very helpful comment. Stfu.
I have same problem with even. One word texts. And since update. Reboot always fixes UT but annoying and shouldn't ever happen
Running full stock with update and using ChompSMS with no problems at all. I do seem to have the new 3g problem with the new radio ppl are having but turning on 2G only fixes the problem. Other wise no SMS problems at all here.
my friends always keep complaining me that i never pick up there calls, but most of the time my phone doesn't ring at all. One of my friend even confirmed me by calling my number in front of me, and my phone didn't ring.
what could be the problem. Plz Help!
Another related problem is that i sometimes receive the messages after 10 to 20 minutes of their delivery. And also after sending 3 to 4 messages, the new sent message stays into the sent box and gets delivered after i restart the phone.
Is this the phone problem or something else.

hi my phone has been good but for the whole of today i havent been able to receive any text messages. i can send them fine and email seems to be working fine as well. When I got home I put my sim into my old phone and after a little while i received the 8 messages.
What could be up? do i need to send the phone back?
when i put the sim back in my phone is was working again.
When it wasnt working I had already tried turing phone on and off.
Also unrelated but I have had some weird problems with my phone not working with bluetooth properly. It will pair easily and work fine but then (again today) my paired devices were not connecting and I had to delete the pairing and add them again for it to work.
Just bumping once to see if anyone else has had this problem and has any suggestions.

i have had the same problem with not receiving texts on my galaxy s. though mine was just from one number. after the usual helpful advice of switching off and on removing sim card etc it still wasnt working. putting the sim in a new phone worked and the only way to get the samsung working again was to reset everything to factory. This lasted about a week and then it's happened again this morning.
Ive checked my blocked contacts and its empty and vodafone/samsung aren't being especially helpful.
It would appear a factory reset is the only thing that sort of works.
hope this helps
Same problem here, i just received 20 messages from up to 3 days ago.
Stock Rom, Rooted
Could be a provider issue tho...
Anybody still having this problem. Mine just started this a week ago. Only hard reset fixes it.
Hmm, I've been having similar issues, with texts not being received and all calls being forwarded straight to voicemail. A day later I get a barrage of texts and voicemails.
This has happened about 2 or 3 times now
A friend of mine had this problem, or something like it (she didn't really describe it in detail). In any case, she was told (by Optus) to connect the sim card to another phone (turn it on), and then put it back on the SGS.
I've just had this problem with the Galaxy S (stock Eclair) on Three(UK). Stopped getting text messages yesterday but could still send messages, emails, browse the web etc.
Bit the bullet this morning and factory reset. Two minutes later I received about twenty text messages.
Seems like this may be a problem with the Galaxy S. If it happens again the phone is going back for something else.
Maybe Froyo will sort it out once Three have worked out how to get it distributed.
Bump.
I don't receive certain messages from my girlfriend when she texts me, i do receive others though, it's highly annoying. I'm on giffgaff (O2) at the moment and running Ficeto's JVH rom 2.3.3
Any ideas why this is happening?
i have experienced this too. . . fixed it by switchin network mode to gsm instead of auto. . .
maybe my area has weak wcdma signal. . .

I am guessing your old phone isn't a Samsung ? I was having the same problem and I figured it out. Samsung phones don't receive texts when a full number is put in. +1-555-555-5555. This is the number format Facebook uses. So if the person texts you using your Facebook linked number you'll never get it. Bravo Samsung! Bravo.
sorry for this noob question but no one in SE forums answered this.. you see i'm sometimes having issues in receiving SMS.. i tried changing sims and still the problem persists.. and only the repair function or the SEUS fixes the problem.. but it's very tedious to do that every week because the problem occurs every week.. (i'm a heavy texter) the problem is that i cant receive long SMS totally from one person who i am texting with (but before i can) and from other persons i can.. After performing the repair the SMS comes in.. Its like there is a Bar that fills up then if it reaches the limit i can no longer receive long SMS and after that no SMS comes in even the short ones. If I filter the messaging app will it solve the problem? and another thing it says that it will clear data. (the original size of the app was 564) then if opened it becomes 572. if used the clear data it returns to 564 and if opened again it will go back to 572.
the question is what does this filter function do? and will it help me solve the SMS reception if i cleared the data?
i had this problem and i switched sim card and nothing work but finally i found out that i if i deleted some apps (i allmost didnt had any space left in my device) and the when i did that i rebooted my phone and then it worked
Yeah just delete some apps..it worked for me..hope I helped

and what does the filter function do? well i dont have any apps on my x8 meaning the internal memory can accommodate SMS but still the problem persists after quite some time.. what can i do about this?
Hello
Recently I upgraded a friend's device version, defy standard.
He was on 2.3.5 seems to me, and we went to cm10 with the guide lies.
After completing installation device rose as usual, and now he found a problem with making calls.
Sometimes you see who is calling and you can not answer,
Sometimes you do not see at all who is calling
Sometimes receive SMS messages but do not know who sent.
And sometimes do not get them at all.
Not to mention the voice messages, or if you miss the call to know who called you ..
What could be the solution to the problem?
