I just started noticing that when I apply a little bit of pressure on the bezel of the screen that the touch screen is unresponsive. Anyone else notice this?

I always think this happens but it turns out I'm usually touching the screen some place else at the same time.
I noticed if my xoom is under water it doesn't work that well.

Weird. Mine works fine. Might wanna Exchange it. Could be Factory Defect.
I actually had this happen after having my Xoom in a carrying case. I had to do a hard reboot, but it came back just fine after that.
yes
I noticed this happening in the google books app. All of the sudden pages wouldn't turn, but i could go across the scroll line at the bottom. Had to reset to get it working.

Is this a common issues with the Sanding Epic. It seems that screen wobbles against the keyboard when pressed on.

Yes and sprint won't fix it either
Should have done my research when I bought this phone. :/ I still like it but the wobbly screen gets annoying.

If you are under the 30-day return policy period, you should be able to get it replaced due to that reason. It is a common issue.
My girlfriends rooted (MIUI) evo is not registering all keys. I have tried cyanogen and miui.us 1.7.1 and 1.7.8. They keyboard functions but misses I, k and n.
I noticed actually that it effects the screen keyboard or not and doesn't register in that specific grid. Any tips? We've tried reflashing and wiping data etc. Nothing seems to be working.

When the keyboard isn't up, do those areas of the screen register?
No they don't.

Sounds like a defective screen.
If you have TEP the Sprint store can assist you.
Just recently occurred though. The device hasn't been hit with any excessive shock and the screen shows no signs of damage. Well see what we cab do though

It may just be defective.
Electronics fail.
My Evo's back button light went out the other day and it's never been dropped.
Happens.
Bummer. Guess I'll have to unroot it so she can turn it in and get it replaced.

Yeah, as long as there's no obvious physical damage it should be a very quick repair process.
Has anyone else seen this...my bottom "back" button (menu-home-back-search) seems to be much less responsive than it used to be...all the others seem ok... Is there a way to calibrate their sensitivity?

I don't think there is a way to calibrate those. But some thing you might want to add to the OP is what rom you are on maybe there is a setting that I don't know about.

might be a hardware problem then. if you went back to stock and same thing is happening.
Yeah...my that's my guess too...likely that my phone just has a little hardware issue...it still works, but I frequently have to hit the back button 2 or 3 times to get it to register...sigh.

its a hardware issue. My search button isn't as sensitive as the others. Good thing I don't use that often.

Coming from an s3 I was able to use my finger nail if I wanted to click on stuff and scroll. No joke I can post a video lol.
Just got my nexus four tonight and I love the phone overall but the touch sensitivity is really bad. Any ideas how I can improve it?

Lol You're fingernail at the time you were using your s3 must have been short, thus allowing your finger as well to touch the screen without you noticing it. And now that you use your nexus 4, you're fingernail is long again..

Lol ... No. Actually used the back of nail where no skin would be able to touch.
On the n4 I press as hard as I want with my nail and it won't click anything.

This topic doesn't make sense. How does the screen suck when nails aren't supposed to be able to work on a capacitive screen normally?

I never said the screen sucks. I said the touch sensitivity does. And I was using my nail as a comparison between the s3 and n4 screen touch sensitivity.

Really? What are you touching then when you're testing the sensitivity? Do you even understand how capacitive screens work?
The sensitivity mod allows you to tap with the back of fingernail (i know i tried lol). It uses the earlier touch driver, but it does have the side affect of making the phone stall for a minute or more when first booted up; but if used with the supplied modded stock kernel you only have this happen once, also 'Matr1x' kernel also has this feature.

Everything and anything on my phone.
Even if I put my finger on the screen slowly without adding too much pressure it will not recognize the touch...try it.
I guess I'm just used to the s3 really sensitive touch screen.

Can you scroll on your home screen or click on apps with your finger nail?
Can you tap on an app with your finger ever so slightly, but definitely make contact with the glass, on an app icon or keyboard, and no action happens? Meaning the app doesn't open or the letter pressed isn't typed in...

I can scroll with the back of my fingernail, and can open apps with a very small amount of pressure. I don't see why I would use my fingernail anyway

Wow most of you are assholes.. I stopped reading after the 3rd negative response. Does anyone know what an example is? That is what the OP was saying when they said they could select things with their fingernail. It does not mean that they want it to do that but only showing an example of its sensitivity that their other phone had and I can tell you that you CANNOT do this on the Nexus 4 unless you push somewhat. My GS2 would scroll with no issues by grazing the screen I actually have to push before doing the mod.
There is a temp fix and it works fairly well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028289

Screen went all wonky and virtually unusable. Rebooted it a few times and it never got better. I was going to factory reset it but this is what the factory recovery looks like which makes me think it is hardware related. Its been in an otterbox defender since purchase and I haven't had time to do anything that would brick it. I had installed nova launcher, widget locker, and my regular loadout of apps but nothing too fancy yet.
Just pulled it out of pocket and saw static. I guess its going back to Verizon tomorrow.
