If you sucessfully got HSPL of your HD2 using the advice samsamuel told you (wich is one of only two ways of getting it off hour HD2). Then just try reflashING the T-Mobile ROM. But if that does not work reflash HSPL to your HD2 and run a task 29 on your HD2 then remove HSPL again and reflash the T-Mobile ROM again. If you do not know what a task 29 is it will completely clean out the area of memory (NAND) that a ROM is stored in and reformat that space as well. It is good to do this when flashing a new ROM as it gives the ROM the best chance for a clean install with out a.y hiccups from the old ROM. Just do a such on google or here on XDA and you will find it.

You have to flash the stock ROM via SD card. This will remove the HSPL.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681317
i have nand android also. once i tried to go back to winmo by flashing via sd card, it just won't work.
anyway, at that time i need to use garmin and thinking of getting desire hd. thank god i failed to flash back to winmo, because after that i bought garmin A10. now i saved money (bought garmin A10 instead of desire HD), and have 2 android.
who said you can't have everything you want?
by the way, do we need to use 8G or smaller card? may card is 16G. is that why i failed to flash via sd card?

Yes it is recomended to use a 4GB SD card or smaller to flash via SD card. Also make sure the SD card is formated using Fat 32.

Hi Guy's, I'm totally new to trying to boot android fromSD on the Hd2. I have tried putting the Android folder from MDJ Froyo 4.6 onto the root of my SD card. I've run CLRCAD and haret. All get is the black screen with 'loading linux' (which remains stationary). I have left the phone for up half an hour and its still stationary an no Android. I,ve tried reformatting 2 cards. Help !!!
Hi ! You'd better change to an Android NAND Build, I'm currently using Android 2.2 NexusHD2 Froyo V1.9G Build on NAND, but I'm also using SD Android builds to test them..
So I never met problems when booting into Android.. but I'm using the latest Radio: 2.15.50.14 ..
By the way if you're booting into Android through CLRCAD & Haret, this means you're currently on WinMo 6.5, so it may be that your current WinMo 6.5 ROM is old, so try this one, if you're using European HD2, try to update your ROM to version 3.14.405.2, which is this one: http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1043&news_id=782, but if you're using the T-Mobile US HD2, then try to update to ROM 3.14.531.1, which is this: http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo2 ..
Your Radio Version may also be outdated, so that's why you can't load Android, which requires the newest versions of Radio to use... try the newest version 2.15.50.14.. which is this one: http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F

Make sure you have radio 2.08.50.xx or higher.... what kind of HD2 do you have? Are you using a custom rom or stock rom.
did you install hspl3?
just like me i tried to install( when i was new)face this problem.
also if you have original rom installed get rid-of that find alternate best rom then try to install android .but b4 you do any things read carefully.
what size is your sd card? check if it doesn't get full at the boot. i had the same issue and it turned out that bigger sd card help.

If he has not HSPL... then he has not the good radio.
If he has the good radio... he has the good spl
What happen to one of my friend (can't remember if it was on HD or HD2) was an incompatible SD card. Try with another SD (if your radio is ok).
Stick with the sd version for now. Nand is still buggy and twice as difficult to install. Try nand when you get a little more knowledgeable.
So you tried 2 cards and formatted them both. Both cards are over 2GB?
As a couple members above mentioned you need a radio of 2.08.50 or above on your phone for android. EX: 2.10.50, 2.12.50, 2.14.50, or 2.15.50. To get the radio you either need to install rom 3.14 on your phone only if available for your regioned phone or install HSPL then 1 of those radios.
Thanks very much. I'll try and give it a go.
The ROM I'm using is a stock O2 UK ROM version 1.72.206.3, Radio version 2.07.51.22. I'd like to try using a cooked ROM, but I am going to have to read carefully how to flash as I've only done this once with the stock ROM. I will also try using a new sd card when i get a chance to go out and buy one. !! Thanks to everyone who has replied.

You have problem with the radio version. You have a .51 radio (ie 2.07.51.22) instead of the .50 radio (2.08.50.xx or higher .50). You will need to install HSPL 2.08.hspl and then flash a compatible radio. There's probably nothing wrong with your sd card, it's your radio version.

NAND builds are no more or less buggy the SD builds and they are not "twice" as difficult to install at all.
My Leo's touch screen finally died on me over the weekend, which I guess is a good run since launch till now. But anyway, I am getting a replacement phone and got to send this one back. Now it has android loaded onto the nand and I am not to sure they would be happy to get it back like that, so should I just go get the newest update off tmobs website or someone got a link?
Can I reflash the stock rom without needed the screen, if I remember back then you just plug it in and run the exe and it did the rest?
Also is there anything else I should do before sending it back?
If you are using a t-mobile HD2, then yes, you may flash the newest t-mo stock rom. Do it from your sd card if you want to remove the HSPL. But you can also remove the HSPL through Cotulla's HSPL 4, just run his exe and choose the latest SPL.

Thanks but how do you run it from the SD card? I normally just use cwm for flashing roms, and I want to just purge the phone clean. Then I got to pull up all the info to reflash my new one lol.

Hey guys, so i'm the new one!
I have some problem with my first attempt to put WP7 on my HD2.
I have succesfully put the HSPL 2.08, then the Radio 2.15.50.14 and after that the Magldr13 on my phone.
BUT after i tried to flash the "Pdaimatejam v4" ROM it had some error messages for the partitions, so i guess my 16GB Sandisk Class2 SD-card just isn't working.
So my installation failed :-(
I restarted my phone and now i'm stuck with the screen "booting wph, wph loading, 12345 go go go" followed by the start screen - after that nothing happens.
My question: How can I get back into the Magldr??
Am I guessing right that I now have to get a SD Card that works and flash back to WM6.5 and after that try to flash again? Or can I just try to flash again without going back to the stock?

you dont have to, and if you choose to do, it will not delete the current radio
Ok, so basically I just have to put a compatible SD-card in my phone, start the Magldr again and flash the ROM again? is that right? The old "failed" installation will be overwritten?

Yup, finding a card is the tricky bit, once you have a working card your laughing.
It should install without an SD card at all, its not much use in that state but it means you can just hard reset the device rather than have to do the whole flash thing again.
Edit:
Oh an congrats on actually reading the threads! you wouldnt have got as far as you did without doing that and is alot more than most than most new folk do on here!
Well I have 3 other SD-cards around here. I will try them and hopefully one works. ;-)
Thanks, dazza9075. I've read many threads here, many tutorials and watched "how-to" tutorials on youtube. I guess I just like to be prepared!
Hi guys, i've just won bidding on ebay for a HTC HD2 with stock rom.
I won it for £62 Although there's a catch, the usb slot isn't functioning, so you can't charge the phone via usb or access files via usb. So the owner charges it via an external charger where you have to take the battery out and put it into one of those charger things. I've got one of them too, and it works a charm.
Now the real question is will I be able to put any version of android into the HD2 without access into the phone via usb? So would it perhaps be like the HTC hero where you put a rom into the sd card and flash from thereon? I hope it's like this, because I can't stand windows 6.5
Thanks in advance guys!
You can run SD BUILDS from the android section and use a different phone or a micro usb

As far as I know you cannot flash HSPL 2.08 via the SD card and therefore cannot flash NAND Android (replacing WinMo with Android) but you can run SD android from the SD card. Just update to the latest stock build with radio 2.15.50 then download an SD Android rom, run CLRCAD and HARET and enjoy.

So I can run ICS? from the sd card essentially?
Check if your hd2 has radio 2.15.50.14 or other with a .50 number in it for example 2.12.50.02.you can check it from os or in red small letters in right corner of the screen when phone boots
if it has you can run sd android roms
then power down the phone.Hold volume down and press power.Dont let vol down until you see a tri-color screen. If it says hspl 2.08 or 3.03.cotulla then you can put clk bootloader v1.5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053 and run nand android without the need of usb port
if nothing of these things (no hspl,no radio 2.x.50.x) exist in your phone, you cant run android sd or nand
Dudes, dont give him wrong infos.
Ofc you can install nand roms without your usb connector. Simply use cLK bootloader instead of MAGLDR. But, as alrdy mentioned, you need hspl.
If so, you are able to install cLK from your sd and set up CWM recovery layout size over it. Without PC. Just search for it here in Q&A and forget sd-builds.
I might have some time tomorrow to search the correct link for you.
And clio is right. For further information look here

Just a sideinfo: you could try to disassamble your hd2 and change the usb connector or the motherboard... or buy a defect hd2 ti test around.. for both you could search for it on ebay.. for the disassamble guides on youtube.

Therefore nobody gave him incorrect information If you can't flash HSPL via SD card, NAND Android won't work properly. Nobody said you couldn't flash cLK via SD card though
Also, if you don't have a .50 radio you will have to update your stock ROM via SD card. Download the stock ROM for your device and extract it somewhere, find RUU_Signed.nbh, rename it to Leoimg.nbh and place it on your SD card. Reboot your phone into bootloader and follow the instructions from there to flash. I've never done this before and this is just off the top of my head from what I can remember reading, so if you need to do this google the process first just in case I missed something
And yes, you can run any ROM off the SD card, from ICS to MIUI to CM7 to Sense.
Guys, there was time in HD2 BEFORE hspl existed

IF you are technically sound and IF you have some patience, look up HD2 goldcard. There were a few common goldcard images somewhere - this is a hit or miss for you as to create a goldcard for your phone, you need the USB of your phone. Since we can't go with that, try the different images - and hope one of them works. Repeat the following steps with different goldcards until one of them clicks or until you run out of them.
Once you have a goldcard in place, look for cLK 1.5 RC1 from Rick_1995. This version of cLK includes clockworkmod. Place the leoimg.nbh file in the root of SD Card, power on the phone with volume down. If all goes well, the leoimg.nbh will flash, which means you will have cLK bootloader with Clockwordmod recovery.
Read up how to create partitions without a PC (and hence without using USB) using cLK 1.5, and you should be good to go.
Important Note: I have never used a gold card to flash cLK 1.5 on my phone. A gold card disables ROM ID checks, and was used in the good ol' days to flash stock HTC ROMs on carrier branded HD2 phones. The same may or may not apply for flashing cLK 1.5, give it a try - this is the only chance of ever getting NAND Android on your phone.
If the goldcard method did not work, see if you can buy another HD2 with the motherboard working (example, screen broken but booting) and replace the motherboard to get a working USB port. Or stick to Android from SD Card, follow @clio94's instructions - just make sure you have .50 radio, or flash a stock rom with a .50 radio using the leoimg.nbh method.

You`re right. For european hd2 model the only stock rom with radio .50 is the latest v3.14 that includes radio 2.15.50.14
so if his hd2 doesnt have hspl and no .50 radio he will find under battery the serial number of his device and then flash from sd card the properly 3.14 rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283
and he will be able to run android from sd
I got an old HTC HD2 for free to fiddle with. My experience with HTC is years back with the HTC Artemis / P3300 / T-mobile Compact III. In that day I flashed it, used custom roms etc. But... that knowledge sunk away the last 5 years.
So I charged the HD2 and it came alive. To end with a screen: aMAGLDR v1.13 (build feb 1 2011)
This seems to be a bootloader.
With holding down volume and power I get the rainbow screen with
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
CotullaHSPL 0x05 0x40
serial
if I connect to usb to windows 7 it is recognized and serial switches to, of course, usb. Windows 7 installed drivers but I can't assess it.
question
I have no clue if any or what ROM or OS is existing on this phone at this moment. I guess none or it was on a SD card the former owner removed (I don't know the former owner. It arrived via via). Can I find out? I tried several options in the magldr menu but to no avail.
What to do next? I just want to get it running and don't really care at this point for which OS to go.
The jargon is overwhelming. Where to start.
My guess is I have to download a custom rom (but which of the dozens..) and install it on a SD, right? And than use the magldr to load it. I googled my a** off but even for a technical person like me it's overwhelming. Main reason is we are years after te release and I feel like an internet archeolist.
So you have tried options 1 & 3 in magldr menu, and got "wph not installed" and "no boot sources" respectively? If so then you are correct, the phone was using the sdcard to boot a ROM.
I would recommend android, look for a Jellybean, NativeSD ROM. But you will need to partition your card.
If you just want to get it up and running without partitioning, look for an SD build from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd2-android/sd-dev for example https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868306 I have this running on my HD2 at the moment, but looking to put another ROM on it soon since I have to send my main phone off to get fixed

Yeah, it looks like android was installed in the phone's NAND memory.

Sorry to storm the thread.
@Robbie P, Nice to see you still around
I'm trying to do the same with my HD2, it was missing a battery for the last 4 years and I finally got one.
CM11 was installed I guess, not sure which rom, but it has the blue angry android boot image,
it's Installed on the nand , with dataonext.
problem is everytime I reboot, it's like the phone was just factory reset,
and In storage, available space is 0.
the bigger problem is that the usb port is probably damaged, because I can't access it through windows 10, 7, it says Windows has stopped the device or something like that.
so repartitioning the nand is not possible through the toolkit, if partitioning is the problem.
Could you please tell me my options here,
and if you do recommend a rom, please do.
PS: my touchscreen sometimes stops responding, the touchscreen is popped a little at the right corner, is this something I can fix or not?

Thanks man
what i've found out on that thread is that he only helps to let me install a recovery, which I already have, I have TWRP installed.
Problem is that I was before had android on nand, but all recent roms I find are all run from SD, but I don't know where to start, specially that I don't want to mess with the device, at least it has TWRP
Question is do I need to do something specific to switch to NativeSD?
do you recommend a specific rom, and a procedure if possible?
Thanks again!

Sorry for the late reply,
My wife got sick and she has had a surgery.
Yes I do have clk 1.5.2.1
SPL 2.08.HSPL
Thanks
Update:
So I've installed MAGLD, and then installed CM12.1 by macs18max
It works fine, but it's very slow.
PS: If you can guide me how to install Winmo and Android on SD together please let me know.
Hope your wife is feeling better.
in Gilbert's thread it mentions you must have hspl installed to flash android with a broken usb.
I might be wrong but flashing winmo might erase hspl, not sure. So might be irreversible.
If that's ok, you can run nativeSD and sd builds from winmo using clrcad and haret, the sd recovery can also be run from haret. There is a winmo program to boot android from a menu somewhere if you need it.

Thank you,
I've already flashed WinMo 6.5, part of reviving my HD2 was to get it working as stock again.
Yes, I guess I lost HSPL by now , and mostly I won't be able to get it back without fixing the USB, but that's OK.
I'll try android using haret, thank you again!
Actually hspl will be fine as you can confirm by switching on while holding vol down, it should show up on bootloader screen.
Good luck
Unfortunately I lost HSPL,
Thanks.
