I know, I should asked that on the dev forum, but due to forum restrictions (min 10 posts), I cannot.
Anyway, just wondered if it's possible to install UrukDroid on the the HDD of this device without loosing the stock firmware.
All the wikis I have seen concern installing Urukdroid on SD card, nothing for the HDD.
I want to boot at least Urukdroid from the HDD and in the same time,, may be later have the possibility to boot the stock firmware in dual boot.
Step by step install will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks a lot

hi all,
after having a toshiba tg01 on windows, and now a g2/hero in black, after using a combination of goldcard & cyanogens recovery image i now have a freshly rooted handset with eclair rom
i now have a couple of questions just to help me tidy it all up.
1) do i still need to keep the sd card a gold card, if not do i just format it to get it back to stock, and if i do is it ok to use as an everyday mem card?
2) is there anything i should know, such as what to expect now i am rooted?
also can i say what a wonderful job on all the tuts on the subject of goldcards and roms on xda, after being a windows phone only user it was a gentle learning curve to get this rooted and modded.
thanks

I took the liberty of moving this to General because Android Development (your original sub-forum) is ONLY for development and modification of software, ROM's, kernels, hacks, etc. To put it simply since you are not developing, your post does not belong in Development.
Also I'm going to start deleting posts from users that do not start posting in the correct sections. Any further incidents regarding posting in the incorrect sections may result in a 1-day ban for these users. Please read the forum description carefully before posting in the future to avoid any of this. Thank you.
hi guys. I wanted to ask how i can run dual boot on my hd2 t mobile (windows mobile and android...) What should i do...?
Well, this was really one of the most frequently asked questions and there have been many tutorials so far.You could have done a bit of research before asking the question. But no worries, since you are asking, i will just post the links for the step by step tutorial.
1) For HSPL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
Follow the steps. Only steps 1-3 will apply for you. Step 3 is optional, unless you want to flash a custom WM ROM.
2) For Radio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Download Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14**. If you want to download a lower radio, ensure that it is a .50 version(x.xx.50.xx....).
3) For Android build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=735
Download any Android build you want. I am using AmeriCan Android(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652). After extracting, copy the Android Folder into the root of your sd card. Boot into WM,navigate to the Android folder using the file explorer and tap 'clrcad' followed by 'haret'. Android will now boot(first boot will take some time)
4) For dual boot apps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733752
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723200
Download any one of the dual boot apps you want. But for both, ensure that you install them in the device, not SD Card. These apps will let you choose if you want to choose WM or Android. It also automatically executes 'clrcad' and 'haret' from the Android folder, so its just a matter of choosing the OS you want.
Done.Ensure that you backup your contacts, settings, etc via PIM backup or if you are using a different backup app,you can use that as well. Also, follow all steps in the links clearly. If you have any questions, ask. Failure to comply with instructions may brick your HD2. I hope this helps and kindly do a bit of research before posting questions here. But since this involves flashing, i am helping, so that the chances of you bricking your phone is minimised.
there's also exceller's android loader

If you are wanting to dual boot Windows Mobile and Android then you do not even need HSPL. You only need HSPL if you want to flash anything to the NAND of the HD2. Android from SD runs via the SD card and does not effect the NAND in any way. So no you do not need to flash HSPL again.
ok ty very much i made the dual boot... yeeey ... can you give me a good WM rom? i flashed my hd2 with the ugliest rom ever
Check out the Energy ROMs, people seemed to love them.
Hey guys,
I have done quite a bit of searching around and have not really found a direct answer. I have dualboot American Android running and I want to update it. What are the proper procedures in updating a dual boot ROM? Thanks

You can update it by changing the contents of the android directory. You should have a backup of your data

Hi guys,
I bought a HTC HD2 from Ebay and it had Android NexusHD-2-Gingerbread V3.0 NAND already on it. But I want to put NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.2 on it now and I couldnt find a complete tutorial on how to do it most tutorials just explain certain parts e.g. installing clockworkmod, MAGLDR etc.
So do I have to factory reset the phone and then put ICS on it or can i just upgrade it?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe read at first this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
I start allways with task29, install magldr (or clk), recovery with 5/200/5 (for Rom you want to install).
Make backup your SD-card and to partition the right way (with 1gb ext3 or ext4)
Afterwards copy the ROM zip to your sd card and install.
This is only a short way to go ahead with Android Rom flashing.
More detailed tutorials you will find .
If you stuck on some point, let us know..

CLK worked better for me i recommend it
clk makes ur phone more native like but there are plenty of guides available and there is also an hd2 bible in the development section.

I'm total newb in anything related to flashing, installing OS on a phone. Just got some old HD2 from a friend which software seems fckd up. When i turn it on i just get "aMAGLDR v1.13 Build: Feb 1 2011 03:46:07 byCotulla 2011". So i want to install Firefox OS 1.4 or maybe older ver. of Fireofox OS if there is not good one for HD2 to play with that OS. Or if there isn't Firefox OS for HD2 i would go with stock android...what ver? 4.4 would be awesome if there is for HD, or maybe Cyogenmode. Can someone help? I'm totally newb and i need literally every step explained.
Thank you.

Get an SD CARD abotu 4gigs move to the development threads , NAND or NATIVE SD Builds pick the rom read hot to install it, have fun.
There is FirefoxOS port but not fully functional. get an android or Windows Phone 7 Rom
You have to rid a lot before attempt anything on your phone. MAGLRD is already in place, is a piece of the puzzle. I give you few tips of what you have looking for:
1-Format with Task29 your Phone.
2-Instal MAGLRD again. As formatting will delete it as recommended.
3-Instal CWM Recovery and set-up Partitions Size in flash.cfg (2MB + 150MB + 1MB) This details you find on any custom rom thread.
4-Boot in Recovery from MAGLRD and Install Rom, which you put on SD.
5-Wipe all.
6Have fun, with Android, there is no Firefox OS.
Don't forget to hit thanx.
Good Luck.
