I've tried flashing the OC kernel several times, and while I was able to get it to work no problem before 3.0.1, now it doesn't want to take.
I can confirm that the xoom_ocboot.img flashed properly, and the bcm4329.ko kernel itself is on the Xoom in the right place, but it just wont work.
Can anyone help with this?!?
Oh and I can confirm that I have fully restored root, so that isn't the issue.
EDIT: I ended up wiping everything and starting from scratch, and I got it sorted out. Mods please delete

Weird issue...
Doesn't matter which rom, when I'm not on stock, my phone will freeze...
I have used odin and flashed one click root, clockwork mod then installed different kernels, roms and with same result. It will freeze eventually until I pull the battery... am I doing something wrong here?
I mean, I completely wiped using Odin so I don't see the residual thing here.
And in case there are, I wiped data, cache, dalvic prior to flash or followed chefs instructions to the T.
Am I the only one that's experiencing this? (probably am T_T)
Any inputs would be appreciated.
Same here. I've found that its the custon kernels that cause it. I just flash the rom I want and then flash the stock kernel back.

Hey, thanks for writing to confirm. good to hear that I'm not the only one but sucks to be one of the few...
I have done multiple wipes, cache clearing (both cache and dalvik)
Gone fresh from di18 fresh install, rooted and unrooted (I heard that old 1 click conflicts with genius dog's kernel) I have come to conclusion that it's the under voltaging that's the culprit here... I may be wrong but what kinda grinds my gears is that why is that only you and me are having these issues?
I'm using Andromeda kernel and it seems to be stable for me.
Any ways around this ??
I just recently started having this problem. I never had it until the day I flashed bakedsnack 1.3. The ROM is wonderful besides the occasional freezing. I usually freeze up about 2 times a day and have to pull the battery. This ROM does use a custom kernel though and I was OC'd to 1.3ghz but reflashed and went to 1ghz and still freezing.
Have you tried OC kernel before? i.e. genius dog's kernel. (not dogging Genius dog or anything. I'm naming his because his kernel is most widely used and I'm dying to use it.)
Just want to try to eliminate the culprit here lol.
Also try flashing andromeda kernel and see if your problems persists because I'm having no problems however my mflops will never go over 8.5 T_T
My accelerometer just stopped working. It was fine and when I went to youtube, I realized that it would not switch back to portrait from landscape, and now it's not working at all! Not in apps, not at home screen, no where... My image gallery doesn't even do the tilt animations.
The situation
-Rooted
-1200 OC Voodoo lagfix with bootanimation
-LauncherPro
I have checked to make sure orientation change was enabled in both settings and preferences... Ugh, yet something else I've seem to have broken.
I have also tried flashing other variations of Voodoo. ARG!!!
I've noticed the exact same issue. Is that Dirrk's OC kernel? If so, I have the same setup you have listed. I'm also having calendar issues with both jt's clean rom and bubby's magic rom. I'm trying a restore from a couple of days ago but I'll probably end up going back to complete stock and starting over. Isn't experimentation fun?

I was thinking that too, but I don't want too! Experimentation for the win!
I did a restore from like 2 days ago and still my accelerometer was not working. I read in one of the Vibrant threads about other people with this problem, and they said only a stock restore fixed their problems... sigh.
What files do I have to flash with Odin to be completely Stock? I read several threads that said I needed only one and others that said 3.
OK, for anyone having the same problems I was having, I managed to fix mine and hopefully it will work for you.
All I did was remove Voodoo via the Uninstaller. I did not do it manually and I did lose all my data and root, but getting root back is cake. You do not have to go back to stock entirely, but yeah, you kinda do. CWM was still there I was able to just flash Voodoo right back on LOL!
****, I forgot to backup with Nandroid, again!!! Oh well.
Any "known good" fixes or causes yet?
If anybody here doesn't mind testing, could you check out the following thread and test the new z4mod app on your Captivate? I only have an I9000, but the app (and lagfix) should work fine on the Captivate as well. Let me know please!

Is there any difference between this one and the one from before? I used the z4mod to root my stock 2.1 on Sunday. It didn't work the first time I tried and it rebooted. The second time did work however. I was in the process of installing Doc's I9000 rom.
EDIT:
Scratch that. I mistook this for the rooting app. Oops.
Testing on top of cog 2.3B6. Had voodoo enabled already. Will also try to do this to my rom with voodoo disabled later.
EDIT: Don't flash on top of voodoo enabled rom. It soft bricked. Can't get past ATT screen. Will try again with lagfix disabled.
EDIT2: does not seem to work on any top of the cogkernerl (voodoo is part of it) at all.
when it reboots voodoo starts talking, even though it shouldn't. i'm thinking its detecting changes to the partitions, and changing them back, which then bricks the rom, as you then mount items that are not there.
Perhaps this would work on a kernel that does not have voodoo as part of it.
Works on Captivate stock JH7
I tried it last week and it worked great, it took about 8 or 9 minutes to root, but rooted I am. Just waiting for source now. Sorry, thought this was just root. I updated but haven't tried it out yet. I'll try it out after a fresh charge.
So i recently decided to flash DJ05 and voodoo5 to my fascinate, Needless to say I was loving life. But here are also where my issues came into to play. I seem to have a flashing problem. As soon as a new update, rom, theme, anything comes out, I flash it. So while my phone was running like a Ferrari, I decided to flash geekniks kernel v1.54. My phone would not start again from this point on. Had a backup, did nothing. Flashed the previous kernel, nothing. So finally I resorted to good ol' odin. Now that I have my phone up and running again, I flashed DJ05 modem and DJ05_clean-0.6. Everything seemed to be running fine until I rebooted my phone. All of my setting were set back to default? Changed them back and rebooted again and the same thing happened. Everything works beautifully until I reboot. So besides my life story at the begining, has anyone else expirenced this, or have an idea on how to correct this? Also, I did try the "Settings-Privacy-Factory data reset". Thanks In advance.
You need to completely remove voodoo - that's what's causing your issues. You can't just go from a voodoo kernel to a non-voodoo one. There is a sticky in this section at the top called "How to completely remove Voodoo" which has the detailed instructions on how to do this. I would also suggest reading some of the other stickies on here to get some helpful advice.

So basically, I tried to help out my friends continuum and ended up with some problems.. these are the exact steps I took..
-Flashed adrynalynes test4 cwm file via odin..
-Put yellow_update.zip on the sdcard, and updated it through that, which seemed -to work
-Flashed within CWM, IMNUTS 530 PBJ voodoo kernel, and rebooted
-Converted successfully as stated by the robot voice, but after it was done I had both the scrambled screen issue, as well as I was unable to download things from the market.
-I attempted to convert back to rfs by disabling lag-fix.. but I still had the problems
**After rooting which seemed successful, I also did not have Superuser.apk installed, and since i could not get a file explorer from the market I am basically screwed.
I have done quite a bit of reading and people seemed to have solved these problems so it must have been something that I was doing wrong originally. One thing I found is that I should try using the blue update instead of the yellow one..
Also has anybody flashed the newest IMNUTS voodoo kernel without facing market issues.. or how about the nonvoodoo one??
What I want to do now is get back to stock unrooted, simply so I can be sure that Im starting clean when I attempt to root again.. (or should I just try to flash stock rooted)..
If anybody has faced issues like this or know how i can fix them, please let me know.. THANKS
These problems are known, and you can fix them by flashing adrynalynes kernel and odining to dl17 stock xP

just download dl17 stock odin image and you'll be back to full stock with superuser and market should work.
and upgrade to FROYO, just saying.....
and i am not sure why alot of people had market problems because i used both voodoo and non-voodoo and had no problems at all, maybe i'm just lucky...
