A simple way to put this:
Heavy use - 1 Full Day
Medium use - 1 1/2 Days
Light use - 2 Full Days
Stand by/very light use - 3 Full Days(easy)
________________________________________________________________
A few other factors that contribute to my battery life are custom ROMs and custom Kernels. I, personally, run SkyRaider 3.5 with Lou's # 8 kernel. Results may vary.
Don't be afraid to test out these different kernels that are out there, you never know which one will match your phone perfectly till you try them all. I reflashed Lou's #8 in the end after going through 11 different kernels
Verdict: 2150 mAh HTC battery = Good to Go
Glad to see it lived up to expectations

So, apparently you didn't use your phone much.
The OP pretty much nails what you can expect with the 2150.

I would say that looks like light-medium use, still though I was never able to get that on stock. My battery almost always died out before 6pm (starting from a 7am day) and that was just terrible.

Not to be a spoilsport or anything, but I own the 2150 mAh battery and I have NEVER used the stock battery. I have noticed that it takes less than one day medium use for it to die. Is this because of my rom choice? Because it did this LONG before I ever rooted it. I admit, the first two months, these speculations of battery life are spot on. But after that, it seemed to just die faster and faster.
I don't know. Maybe it is just me.

Like I said, different ROM/kernel combination's will put out different results. Try a new setup and see if your results change. If not, call Verizon and have them send you a new extended battery because yours isn't performing
Not bad, I was able to get this with the stock 1300mah, CM7, and incredikernel.

Impressive sir.
My 2150 hasn't been holding a charge all that well to be honest. The seidio 3500 still works great. I like the 2150 best as the size is perfect and had just the right capacity when new but I'm a little bummed at how its been lately. I've had mine pretty much since I got the phone right after it launched. The seidio I used in my Eris too, so its been around the block a couple more times

Wow, this is one of the most impressive screens I've seen, simply because you actually used your phone. I may have to try incredikernel once MIUI jumps to 2.3 on the Inc. How do you use your phone, primarily?

Just curious if enough people complain, can anything be done to improve it?
I know there are tweaks but i prefer one from htc directly.
If anything, the updates for battery life will come from Froyo.
What HTC DOES need to fix though, is the touch sensor lag on the phone. It's impossible to play ping pong on my Evo.
gotcha...yeah i was playing with a friends iphone, and before today, i didn't notice the lag on the screen until i web browsed with the iphone.
Take action into your own hands and fix it yourself. Removing most of the bloatware and social networking crap increases battery life substantially.
Personally i don't care if I miss my buddies face book status update or if Angie replied to my comment about her tits on twitter. Some can't live without that though.

I have to say that I find the battery life fairly decent...and I am running most of the widgets and have gmail set to push... I took it off of the charger this morning ~7:30, and it died at 9:30 this evening. Thats with about 30 minutes of Pandora streaming over 3G, downloading several apps, watching a couple of YouTube videos, a phone call, some texting...basically normal use. I think that 14 hours of battery life on a phone like this with that type of use is pretty good... Its not a circa 2001 flip phone with a monochrome lcd display that can last for a week or more...but it is heck of a lot more device. just MHO
God I remember those good old days, charging your phone once every two weeks. Car chargers were unheard of.

yep! nice from one perspective, not so much from another! Oh yeah, and I just got the phone on Monday, so that was really only the 2nd full charge cycle. Charging it with the phone off all night tonight, we'll see how long it lasts in the coming days/weeks...I bet it does better! Anyway, I feel pretty comfortable that as long as I anticipate how long I need to go between charges, I can tailor my usage to that...so if i need it to last 20 hours, I will not use Pandora, watch YouTube, or download stuff... Not that hard!

What are you doing to get Android System battery usage down so low? I turned off the Sense home screen and installed ADW. That helped a little. And I'm only using like 4 widgets and some shortcuts. It's still at like 40-50%.
The longer you use the phone the lower Android system goes...not doing anything special everything pretty much stock as the phone came. One thing that does cause huge battery drain that I ran into was setting up the Flikr account but removing it put the battery use back to normal.
i get the exact same battery life with my evo as i did with my hero, using the same battery though. wonder if that makes a difference...
Finally below 10% juice left. See images. This is the battery from Verizon's site. If ENOUGH of us buy this battery, they'll make cases for it. Right now, they claim there isn't enough of a demand. I see sooooooo many people complain about battery life, but don't want the 3500mAh battery, due to its size. This IS the happy medium. Lets go folks!

This battery is only a little more than 1/3 added juice than the stock battery, so if I can get 3 days, stock users can get almost 2! The key is to use setcpu and create a profile for"screen off" and set the max cpu in that profile to 460 or so.
Good luck!

You guys are smart! I have the 8/1 leak but just about to upgrade to the new "official" leak. Yes, it's the hydra v1.0 ocuv kernel @1.15GHz. S-off, with clockworkmod 2.5.0.5. The theme is the manup revolution theme, but I'm not sure I'll use that one again because the battery meter in the notification bar is not accurate and when I try to change it, I get issues.
The main thing, besides a good bump charge, is the setcpu profile. I'm running setcpu in "on demand". Make one profile for "screen off" and make your max cpu 460 and leave the minimum at 245 or whatever. I made a 2nd profile for battery less than 25% that makes the max 560MHz. I've had NO non-responsiveness. Just always there when I need it and even with the "screen off" profile set to low CPU speed, I still hear my phone vibrate before I get the email in outlook, at work.
Any more questions, just let me know!
P.S. Check my sig to see if it answers anything else you want to know about my set-up.
EDIT: XDA members can get SetCPU for free here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419

This battery is a great piece of hardware. It allows the phone to lay flat while protecting the camera lens and as jermaine151 mentions, there is more phone to hold onto while typing. This is a great buy and I say that even though I paid the extra cost by going through HTCpedia prior to Verizon making this available.

I'm going to swing by the store on my way home and see if its available. I've gotten my stock battery to last through an entire day with mediocre use, so I would love to be able to use this and get over a day with heavy use.
I got mine by calling vzw customer service. I'm not sure if they have them in stores yet. Btw they included overnight shipping for free for me.

Well, one of the threads is "More than Meets the Eye" and is RLS 5 and as far as I can see supports 4G. Yet, last time it was updated was quite sometime ago.
The more recnt one is the one I'd assume would be better and faster and more preffered. Buuut, I don't see that it supports 4G, and its RLS 1. I don't have any idea what RLS means, but I'm just trying to figure out what the difference is...

Myns warntwopointtwo is actually the first Rom for the EVO and it was and still is one of the best looking roms in the EVO , warm z is a port not 4g and synergy is sense 2.1 mix with sense 3.0 the best of both world including 4g and gingerbread

Right, I was just on Synergy but my battery life was really bad, even with that power saver so I switched to try out MIUI again. Hadnt tried it since it first came out. Anyways, I still don't think I quite grasp what the difference is between More than Meets the Eye and Yabba Dabba Doo.
myn's warm twopointtwo is based on stock evo software (froyo, outdated software from december btw). it's an oldie but a goodie.
synergy is a project with like 8 devs on 3 phones that is a sense 3.0/2.1 gingerbread mix. it is (in many people's opinion) the best rom for the evo ever. battery is bad because htc hasn't released kernel source yet, so no kernel battery saving mods. bug htc on their twitter for them to release it lol.
I guess battery life on Synergy is a matter of your phone. I get good life out of it, I can easily go 24 hours with normal use and I leave BT, GPS, 4G and wireless on.
Some report that it needs to settle in, how long did you give Synergy?
dkdude, love your carousel and widgets for Synergy. Have you given any thought on trying to get landscape to work? Just asking as that would be da bomb! Anyways, thanks a lot. (Sorry for the hijack)

My battery life is crap. I replaced the original 2 year old battery a few weeks ago, and still no improvements. I am using SIMPLEAOSP right now, with the default kernel it comes with.
I have to get something different. I am getting like 12 hours of mild usage before I need to find a wall. That is unacceptable. I have done all of the battery tweaks I can do within 4.4.4 and still keep most of my daily functionality (disabling NFC, low accuracy GPS, etc).
What would you guys recommend I try. I am tempted to just hold out until L is released, but I cannot keep living like this (firstworldproblems). I was just going to buy a N6, but it is WAY too big and WAY too expensive.

Wakelock detector + Greenify can find and put to sleep what's keeping your phone awake.
Wipe your phone and return to stock. Flash your ROM and don't use google now. But honestly you probably just need to put your phone down.

I do use google now, but I actually like it. But that hasn't changed, and my battery life has.
I am hoping that wakelock + greenify can figure it out, because after replacing the battery I have had ZERO improvement. Which leads me to think it is ROM/app related.
Today I flashed a new ROM (purity) and threw franco's kernel on. The testing will resume.
One a more interesting note, today during my battery life searches I ran upon a thread about T-mobile using significantly less battery during the day, compared to AT&T. http://blog.laptopmag.com/tmobile-phones-longer-battery-life
I did recently go from the $30 T-mobile plan the a $45 straight talk plan using AT&T. I wonder if that is making an impact as well.
So yea...I am working on it. WOAH!
Kind of the same problem here, received new battery today but my Torx is too big! Have to get one that fits.. but i suspect that the main problem is the battery drain in standby/deepsleep. I can get to 90-120minutes of DOT, that was never much better, but what the phone is doing while i don't use it is the problem. I tried BBS, WLD, CPU Spy and Greenify.. but i suspect that some google background service is the bad boy.
I did 2 test with 2 different batterys with Nova Battery Tester
1-original 1650mAh (3yrs old)
2-Mugen extended 3200mAh (+- 2yrs old)
these are my findings
1650mAh battery

as you can see it lost a bit capacity, i was very suprising to see it only lost about 400mAh in a period of 3 years
MugenPower 3200mAh battery
here is the result of the test of the Mugen 3200mAh battery.
(bought it used a year ago, so i dont know how long it was used before i bought that).
i did my research, this battery has been tested (new) and give arround +- 2400mAh in real-time though.. Mugen claiming its 3200mAh
It lost a but capacity but not by much as you can see it lost about +- 250mAh in a period of 2 years orso, so im very pleased with the performance
btw for informative purposes the screen was at full brightness in both tests
Please post your result also inhere so we can see the differences!

Yeah thats why i bought it used for like 25$ it had 2 cases (one with a kickstand wich was broken) and still with 1 month warranty left on paper .. so i contact them (dutch shop) and told them that my case was damaged so i send them my mugenbattery-kit and got everything back as new within a few days! and i dont know if they included a new battery also.... maybe it was a new battery but im not 100% sure ... i should have marked the battery before send it in
and somehow my CPU performance is performing better with the mugen battery according to the test
ill post my results tomorrow hopefully, doing first test now, but the second battery, supposed to be a extended life one, needs charging..
The app crashes at the end of the test, was looking forward seeing the results, oh well

I have ordered a new genuine battery since my old one is dying after 2 years of usage and flashing. I will do the test with the old and the new one to see the difference. So I just set the screen to full brightness and always on, switch on wifi, gps, bluetooth and leave the phone from 100% battery to 0% right?

No! turning on flightmode will do the trick (everything should be off otherwise you can recive calls and messages in the middel of the test)...then open Nova Battery tester app it will automaticly turn on the screen on its brightest level, before you click on "start benchmark" go to the setting and switch to "long" test (for best accurate result-from 100% to 5% if im not mistaken). then start benchmark, :good:
dont touch phone and leave it until its done
