Well if you're waiting for the SGSII, give it a bit. The one that has AT&T bands just went through the FCC only yesterday (March 11th to me). There is a post about it on pocketnow.com. I'm thinking it's actually the one for Bell Canada some the model is the GT-I9100. The ones for the US should be here in a bit.

Eh, I'm probably gonna switch to the international version of the SGSII. It's supposed to be a true quadband. I'm just waiting to hear if the tmo version would also have 4 bands for UTMS. Would love it if it came with 900/AWS/1900/2100.

Verizon Galaxy S

Hey all
Someone gave me a Verizon Galaxy S. Is this a fascinate??
Anyway, I'm in the UK and this thing is CDMA :-( Any suggestions of what to do with it?
Yes it is. I would root it and unlock it if possible. The i would install a custom kernel and rom.
Btw i have a tmobile galaxy s, but the things you can do should be the same.

Because he said "Verizon Galaxy S" , so it must Fascinate
For OP : I live in Southeast Asia and im using Fascinate, just unlock the device and then inject with my local carrier (CDMA for sure), voice, sms, and data work perfectly.
Woah, Wait up guys, you seem to have forgotten something!
The Fascinate is not the only Galaxy S phone on Verizon! The Samsung Continuum (Crappy in comparison, no AMOLED) is also labeled as a Galaxy S!
OP, take off the back cover and take out the battery and tell us what is says for model, if it says SGH-i500 it's a Fascinate.

Anyway, the gs3 probably wont be out for sprint until september (based on previous release history) so if you cant wait for that go with the Evo. While the galaxy nexus is a great developer phone, the new Evo is going to have much better battery life, considering the One X has better MUCH battery life than the galaxy nexus and the Evo has a bit more battery than the One X. If you dont really care about battery life and want to have the latest and greatest all the time then go with the galaxy nexus.

Yeah well I dnt rlly like htc their build quality is great but idk I just feel like samsung makes a more efficient proccessor that exynos 5152(I think) sounds amazing if I were to get a new phone it wud have to be the gnex but wait. Does the gnex have an sdcard slot? If not I'm waiting that cud make it or break it for me
Edit: just checked the specs of the g nexus saw the gpu is a power vr sgx540 why wud samsung use a slightly older gpu in a high end phone like that? Isn't that wat we have ? Don't get me wrong its a rock solid gpu but it doesn't perform well enough to be put in the galaxy nexus. I wudve thought I wudve been sadled with the same gpu as the sgs 2

I agree with this. Skip the Galaxy Nexus and get the Evo 4G LTE. The Galaxy Nexus hardware already feels dated. Also, judging by the amount of development for the Evo 4G WiMax, there should be a good amount of developers working on goodies for the new Evo.

From what I heard, Sprint and Big Red have an advantage thanks to their CDMA networks. Korean networks run on CDMA LTE, so...with a bit of tweaking from Samsung, we could *possibly* have the quadcore GS3 on Sprint
As for AT&T and T-MO, their networks are more complex to support as they have a GSM HSPA+/LTE and what not, something that isn't yet implemented and supported by the Exynos chip, or the Tegra 3 chip for that matter.
So in theory, we *MIGHT* get lucky with the Exynos. Again tho, take it with HALF a grain of salt

if i'm ever going to get the Galaxy, i'm definitely going to get the International version. hate how the U.S carriers screw them up and such... ruins the whole point... i have an international version of the Original Galaxy S, GT-i9000, and if it weren't for it being international... i'm not sure how i can stand it lol. International ftw!
Yeah.im leaning towards internat versions for next major purchase.but if the note or sgs3 or the onex comes to Tmobile, then thats good enough for me for the next 2yrs.

S2 already got the ota update for ics. And yes I made the point to check specifically pulled out my phone and said for this one. I thought I heard him wrong as that's what I thought Samsung said and why. The fact we cm9 working was so awesome

uh-huh! And so first thing you do is run home and make a new XDA account to tell us all about it. Add to that that Sprint employees never seem to know what is going on. I got a bridge I am willing to let go real cheap.
I'm sure he meant the epic 4g touch

I was at AT&T today and the rep told me that the Epic was getting Jellybean.

Nope.
This thread made by the OP is staged.
#1. It's a new account. Trolling is expected.
#2. The story given is too sketchy, why would a Sprint Tech *magically* announce that the Epic 4G is getting ICS when they were going to buy a Galaxy S III?
#3. If the OP is being truthful (let's give him the reason of the doubt) Then the Sprint Tech who said it is retarded and trolling.
Edit: On a Happier Note, I had a dream last night that the Epic 4G was the first to get Key Lime Pie running on it. LOL
