I have a Verizon wireless card (USB - 3G) and haven't been able to find anywhere that says it will or won't work on the Xoom for data access. I would assume with the USB in that only the VZAccess manager would be required. Does anyone have any info on this?

I'm trying something at work and don't know if this is possible. I've done a little looking but don't know exactly what I'm looking for.
We have MDTs in our vehicles that have a wireless data connection and a secured WiFi network for our tablets. We are limited on what we can access on the MDTs (normally just our CAD program only, but I found an exploit to access Windows Explorer) and they operate on Windows. I was wondering if there is something that I can plug in to a USB port that will link with the wireless data network and add an additional WiFi network that I can access/control.
Is it possible to connect the tab via the prop. USB cable to my computer and get internet? I've tried Google and the Samsung FAQ page but couldn't find any info on this. Thanks!
PS: If only Android supports ad hoc connections I wouldn't run into this problem.
I've been able to connect to the phone via wifi hotspot and USB tethering, but I'm not able to get an online connection.. always says "No Internet connection" in Windows.
I have an eligible data plan with tethering enabled, and it seems to connect to the phone just fine (Windows 7).
Has anyone run into issues? I don't currently have PC Companion installed, but I'm unsure if it's necessary to tether (especially with wifi spot).
Edit: Solved. After some searching, the only thing to fix this issue is to enable tethering on the phone, then disconnect from the network (airplane mode), then reconnect. Now tethering works.

I think it should be the same way if you were connect to 3G, just connect to wifi network and enable the native usb tethering feature.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to connect Nexus4 to a Windows7 PC via USB and use it as a cellular modem?
Is there a way to do this without a third party app?
Go to Settings
Under Wireless and Network, go to More
Go to Tethering and Portable Hotspot
Check USB tethering (cable must be connected to computer, you lose access to phone sdcard when tether)
