No bluetooth headset when 3.5mm jack plugged in. help! - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Hey guys
In winmo 6.5 I could plug a 3.5mm jack into my car stereo to listen to music, and my bluetooth car kit would take the audio from calls and relay it to my handsfree speaker and mic.
With winphone 7 I have lost that option.. having a 3.5mm jack plugs in overrides the bluetooth and so all audio is routed to the 3.5mm jack.
I dont want to be unplugging the jack every time a call comes in, or I need to make a call.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Xander

No one going to throw me a bone here?

how to enable microphone while

is there any way to enable build-in microphone while using 2.5mm audio jack connected to car's stereo?any registry edit? Thanks in advance!
I think that the insertion of a jack into the socket operates a hardware switch so I don't think there can be any software tweaks. It is the same as plugging headphones in to a radio etc. the insertion of the jack breaks the connection to the speakers and diverts the output to the headphones.
I got a 2.5mm 4pole male to 3.5mm 3pole female adapter with built in mic and volume control off ebay for less than £5. A cheap 3.5mm patch lead to car stereo later and it works perfectly, other than a slight alternator induced whine is audiable when charging. This is more likely to be from my cheap car charger as it goes when not charging. I like the way MP3s etc get muted when a call comes in. TomTom, Mortplayer and phone calls all at the same time, I love my Wizard.
Guess u didn’t try it. I have my wizard attached with the car stereo and when I get a call i can receive it and talk, the mic gets activated auto. Works perfect for me. Give it a try should work for u.
didn't try what?how does your mic work?
Well I use a 2.5 to 3.5 mm converter which in connected via RC wire to the car stereo linein, when I get a call I just receive it and I can talk. The music stops I can hear the person call and can talk back, the microphone works perfect.
with mine 2.5->3.5 mm jack(done it myself, the 2.5mm jack has 3 poles, not 4) can only hear but the other person doesn,t hear me
my jack has 3 poles, bougth it from ebay some time back, works perfect for me

Okay thanks. Though I tried to use stereo headphones I had from my old MP3 player, and for some reason they're not working.
It works as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, if you are using handsfree. there are another two additional connectors that connect the mic, but works fine with normal headphones, are you sure that the headphones work, is the volume turned up! I know it sounds patronising, but the volume can get accidently turned down.

registry edit to turn mic back on when audio plugged in

I have been searching for a way to have a cheap hans free unit in my car.
I have my mogul setup with usb/3.5 mm audio converter with aux cable into my stereo. This gives me mp3's playing and also I can hear when someone calls me. The problem is they cant hear me. The mic is shut off with this setup. has anyone found a way around this? thanks.

Use this adapter http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-STEREO-H...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and have your 3.5mm into the stereo, and plug in your stereo headset into the headset port. You will then have audio going to both the headset and the stereo in your car, as well as audio input from the headset. Sounds kinda cool if you have both the car stereo and headset on and have some music playing. You can also have a car charger plugged into the extra port for a charge while you go.
I plan to take a headset and splice to wire the mic through my driver side column for better mic placement. Now I just hold the mic in my hand.

headset won't work on tilt 2..help!

i have a headset, i bought a 3.5mm aux to connect phone to aux to headset (the ones you wear to go to the gym), but when someone calls, I can't seem to talk on it. is it because i don't have a mic? is there a way i can activate the mic on the phone?

Headphone Jack Issue

I am interested in purchasing this phone, but I read there is an issue with not being able to use the microphone while headphones are plugged in. I hook my current Android into my car stereo through my headphone jack and when people call, it uses the speaker phone to talk while I hear people on the car stereo. Would I still be able to do this on the Fascinate, or does that also disable the speaker phone mic, or are they the same mic?
im not sure what you are asking but i ahve no problems with it, i plug in my headphones with the mic in them and they work great, use them for listening to music and talking and love it
He means he has his phone plugged into the speakers in his car through the aux jack, and then when he gets a call he uses the speakerphone option to talk, and incoming voice audio plays on his car stereo. I do not think this will currently work on the fascinate...
You've heard right. It blocks speakerphone when headphones/aux are plugged in. It's quite a pain considering I use it as my music player in the car. It also ignores bluetooth while plugged in as well.
I got used to unplugging it when I get a call, though.
This is correct, and was almost a deal breaker for me. However, the car dock has a function where you don't need to plug in the AUX, only the micro-USB, and you can charge it as well as have audio output (the audio goes through the charging port, then is output by a 3.5mm output on the dock, and finally to your car's AUX in). This feature isn't enabled yet, but once Froyo is released it will be - and then we should be able to take calls over our car speakers without the mic being muted.
Just something to keep in mind,

So Indy, we can't use the car dock the way it was intended until froyo drops? That means I can't hear my nav thru the speakers while docked or any music?
Sent from my Fascinate
As I understand it, yes. There is a sticker on the port letting you know that it won't function properly until the release of 2.2. I'm still waiting on my dock to get here in the mail, but I've seen several threads elsewhere where this is discussed.
I don't think the dock has room, but if it does, you could still run an AUX cable from the headphone jack to your car's input, and have nav and music through the speakers - you just wouldn't be able to take calls with it connected because of the mic being muted with an AUX cable connected. Once 2.2 is released, as I understand, you'll be able to do it all.
Thanks for the help. It looks like ill be waiting before I make a purchase. I use slacker radio too much in my car and my deck doesn't have an auxiliary in, its old school tape deck so I have a device that plugs in the tape deck.
