Porting Honeycomb music app to G2/ CM7 RC 2 with CWM3 - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi im trying to port the honeycomb music app posted around these forums to work on CM7 CWM3 but it needs to be updated to Edify Scripting to work on CWM3 but I can't sign .zips or .apk at this time. Here is the zip that should work on pre CWM3 builds.

There's an apk floating around here, had it but just didn't like it much.

Edit: I found it, and uploaded it. Tried it out again, didn't like it again No need for that recovery flash crap..

There is already an apk for it somewhere .search for it .also you won't need to flash it. Just uninstall the music opp with titanium back up and install the apk .it works fine but its not impressive at all.

Fresh Toast Kernel link

Anyone got a link to fresh toast with bfs and fps?
The fresh updater doesn't work, says the mirror doesn't exists.
The Fresh Updater works fine. You're just a retard. Follow the tutorial on geekfor.me on how to update the server info in the updater, then update to your heart's content.
And the kernel is in the dev forum. Use the search bar. Of course, then again it's on the first page.*rolleyes*

kernel =! rom
You could run one of the programs in ava toolbox to extract the kernel from fresh's rom. I'm not sure if there is a program to make a zip file out of the extracted kernel to flash it though.

I'm actually looking for this
http://geekfor.me/new-release/fresh-toast-experimental/
but doesn't really matter anymore, settled on king's kernel for now.
the download on fresh updater probably isnt working because that is a 2.1 kernel and will not work on fresh now. anyways, kings kernel is probably the best one out there since fflokes kernel imo. if it was the server you can reset it to default in the app and i'm sure you would have been smart enough to do that if you were smart enough to know how to flash a kernel.

Hulu App/Hack?

I've heard that there's a Hulu App out there, at least for the ViperRom.... However, I can't seem to find it---at least compatible with the edify/CWM3 scripting.
Anyone know if there's a workaround?

ptfdmedic has it on his list of zips that he's made edify compatible (column on the right-hand side).
Direct link: http://www.multiupload.com/ZPTQM401M1
In addition, a tool has been made to convert zips to be edify-compatible.

Me too.
I'm on mROM v3.
I uninstalled all previous versions of Flash.... no dice.
I want my HULU TV?
Anyone know how to get Hulu App to show and/or working?
A Hulu App would be SERIOUS competition for Youtube.
VIPERrom 4.2c/EXT4
no dice on 24xxx Frankenstein ROM/EXT4 either- flashed in CWMv3
Any other ideas?
Here's the link to the thread with the app:

does it work only for viper?

If you are on Viperrom with EXT4 file system, I don't think it will work. I think that link goes to the zipped hack using amend script.
-edit: I haven't tried it personally. I just say that because I am used to seeing EXT4 or Edify script explicitly stated when a zip uses edify script.
Any updates on this? I think Hulu access would be huge pre official plus droid client release, and even better a possible reverse-engineering.... hint hint
Maybe NZBPlayer for droid would be a great alternative...

I switched from the hack to using playon now that the released it for android. It works so much better since it's smoother even on 3g and doesn't require me to keep downgrading my flash every time my phone decides to update it (the caveat is that you need playon on your home computer to stream) but if you really need the hulu apk, I'll go ahead and attach it. One of these works but I can't remember which one. I've also included the flash program.
The Hulu app doesn't work in landscape!? Seriously??? Can anyone else confirm this? Is it just me?
I find this as absurd as the Skype app that doesn't support video calls.

Gingerbread

I was wondering if someone could make a clean version of nexus one gingerbread without the google apps,i hate going into task manager and seeing them run everytime on any rom i dl..if so i would donate for your troubles...either for either installation method would be finefine

GPC has released a clockwork mod version of his. Simply go into the APK folder and delete them all before you flash the rom! I agree they are a bit annoying.

[Q] The New UOT Kitchen and CWM 2.5.0.1

Has anyone tried the new UOT kitchen with CWM 2.5.0.1? I get a script error on attempting to install the zip file. I noticed that the site is using the new edify scripting engine, could that be a problem?

You'll have to compile a theme made for the theme chooser app if I'm not mistaken. I just made a thread for this and a Google search answered my question.

FR008 does not have (or use) a theme changer.
Doh'. Saw CWM and thought you said CM.
UOT customization with sense would be awesome.

obviously something you are doing on the site is conflicting with the ROM you are on...what all are you adding with UOT? try adding 1 thing at a time (i.e. add 1, compile, flash, add 1 & 2, compile, flash, so on and so forth) until you get your culprit. then you'll know not to add that feature
Just adding the battery icon, specifically the gingerbread one. I'll try one that i have used before and see if I get the same results.

UPDATE: Created a new update using the the SCB with %, Version Z (exactly the same configuration that I have previously created and successfully installed using the old site) and I get the same exact error attempting to install in CWM. The install scripts are completely different.

Netflix on Aria.

Just letting you all know that editing the build.prop in the system folder works for our lovely little Aria as well if you're running CM7.0.0 or above.
I assume that lets netflix run on aria? Or was your post title unrelated?
It was related. I have an Aria, and Netflix works fine.
What about other ROMs?
I have no idea. All I know is that it works on cm 7.0.0 and above.
What do you edit in build.prop? And why do you have to for Netflix? More specific please.

The instructions are on there.

Those instructions won't work on the Aria. The build.prop will revert after rebooting unless you edit the file while the phone is in recovery.
I rebooted and it worked.
Take build prop out of cm zip edit it and put it and overwrite the one in the cm package then flash
Signatures are fancy.
Just curious, if you don't do this work around do you get the phone not supported message on the login screen? Because before I knew about this I could log in and select a movie or video no problem.
Signatures are fancy.
There's also a hacked API file running around on xda that doesn't require you to modify your prop file.. just install the APK file and go.

Yeah I did this
Has this fix been documented?
I don't have Netflix.

Can we get a link to it please?

I would like this link as well.
I don't have the link but if you goto cyanogenmod forums under stable mod for the aria, its within the first couple posts. A guy there has a link there. I did the Mega uplaod and netflix is working great.
Here's the link to the one uploaded by AP:

And here's a dev thread in our Android forum with links to modded apks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150
http://www.mediafire.com/?smiw61zqsst01o7
I created a quick update.zip that just replaces the build prop with a new one with 2 changes:
The GB Signature is updated to GRJ22
The Model is changed to HTC Vision
This *SHOULD* allow you to install netflix. I'm testing it right now. First I have to uninstall the hacked version.
Does, in fact, work. Could not find it in the market though.
this hack is also working on my nook color
