Ok now thats covered lol. I need help trying to figure out how to change the Windows mobile 7 to store on my external memory (16GB MicroChip). I formatted my Chip and did other options but still no luck. So every time my phone turns off, i have to resync my Contacts from my SIM, change the settings, and anything else that has been going in the memory... PLease someone help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

NVM Problem Fixed

first i will assume that your Microchip is the SD card.
and your problem is for your SD card so you have to go for another one,
try Sandisk class 4 8gb....
and that's would fix your problem...

Memory card is gone for good !!

Good evening everyone...
I have a problem with my X2, the memory card have disapeared for good, its been a while now and I have tried every fix in this site, still no luck.. I have done a clear setting (hard rest) and many things still the memory card no go... some one help??
Is that the Original Card that came with the phone? How long did it work, if ever?
Did you apply the reg setting to DISable card sleep?
Did you try a DIFFERENT card?
Did you try that card in a Different Phone?
....and the results are....
Hi there,,, yes its the original card and its working for quite some time now,,, Its been working for 4 months now, and I have tested it n my PC and its working, its tottaly the phone, can u explain what you mean by card sleep disable trick??
Well, with a Registry Editor I go to:
HKLM\system\current control set\control\power\state\suspend and then to same key but RESUMING
and sete the shc1 value='0'
which makes the sd card never go to sleep. So far for me and I am using even a 32GB card, it never disappeared.
If all does not help and the card works in another PHONE, then the last thing left is to try a DIFFERENT card in your phone.
Else, phone back to SE for warranty!
thx man Ive tried that but its already set to 0.... I think the phone is having an emotional problem, cuz he dont see the card even with a SEUS clean rom install,,, seems the hardware is the problem not the software,, this is bad cuz the warranty isnt in my country and i cant do anything to fix it now..
Hii! new updates... I just got a new HC card 4 GB and it worked,, so i guess the device some how dont wanna recognize its original card any more, even hto its working on PC.. anyway thanks dude, i just got new memory card and its working, this X2 will drive me crazy some day but not today i guess!

[Q] focus 7 problem

hello all,
last week I bought the samsung focus from the US. (i am from Austria by the way..) and the first 3 days were absolute great and I was happy about my new samsung. but on the 4th day the phone shut down all the time, I cant stop it.
now when I start the phone I can only see "Samsung" and dark colour. this picture belongs to hours and hours. nothing happens.
I don't know what I can do, I have already tried it with the "hard reset" and a "micro SD" because I have heared that this 2 options can help.
But it doesnt work
Can anybody help me with this problem?
or knows anybody when there will be a new update?
I am going crazy because of this situation....
thanks for all your help!

Did you have a microSD card installed in the phone before the phone started rebooting?
Tussi1 - it's me again.. forgotten the password...
thanks for your comment!!
When I get the phone without microSD and I have started it without it. and everything works well the first 2-3 days.
I bought the mircoSD when I saw that I can't start the phone anymore. Because I read a lot that such a microSD can help when you this problem with samsung focus. I bought 2 different types (different GB's) but nothing works.
It was a 4 GB sanDisk and a 8 GB kingstonDisk. Both doesn't work!
As I already wrote there is only the SAMSUNG design on the dark display...
do you think I need a other microSD for rebooting it?
thanks!!!

At this point I would just take it back and exchange it. Sounds like more work than it's worth dealing with.
Did you format the SD card?
I realize you can't get past the boot screen currently but WP7 is notorious for SD card incompatibility.
Also, have you attempted to boot the phone while connected to a PC?
If these attempts fail, a return may be your only option but how feasible is it to return a phone to the US from Austria?
I believe you need to remove the SD Cards and do a complete reformat. I ran into the same issue after using an incompatible SD Card. Pull the Card, Turn OFF the phone by holding Power Button when NOT connected to power. Hold down Volume Down, Power button, and Camera button whilst the phone is off. That will make it turn on and ask if you want to format.
I believe that was it. Anyone know different?

[Q] HD2 Power button Issue

I have search high and low on the forums for an answer to this issue and am not finding anything. I have a friend who I just helped set up Android on sd. I gave him same versions I have had great luck with. HE has a reoccurring problem with his power button. When you push it to bring the unlock screen up, it wont go right away. You have to push it several times to get it up.
It does not have issue in WM 6.5, just any Android op on sd card. He has tried many different version, hard reset the phone, formated the card and started over. Nothing fixes it! His sd card is a 6 GB class 4, brand new.
I have successfully run Android from sd for sometime now on my phone. NO PROBLEMS! I haven't had it do this so I have no idea how to help him.
Can anybody give me some direction???
I'm having the same problem. Every time I press the red button on HD2 it seems like the touchscreen get blocked. Somebody help us!
it may be sd card related. i have 2 sd cards:sandisk 16gb class2 works great. but toshiba 4gb class4 gives the problems you mentioned. there was a thread about sd card and android.search for it in xda.if your sd is not good for android you may face problems especially with sense sd builds.
look at this thread ...it might help u

Maybe you should try an other SD, try yours for example, if it doesn't work, try NANDROID? This will probably fix the problem, because here's no sd card required to run
Hope this helps.
It's definitely not SD related with mine... I think it's dust, anyone know how to clean the contact?

Needed help.

Hello
I need help quickly, I was angry from my phone.
This is the problem in detail:
I bought a memory card, I set up Android, and then started to work.
Well, here is no problem, soon after the use, the higher the temperature of the phone.
, closed it down, and when try to run the Android I did not find the memory card.
After a few attempts to run the Memory Card, Windows gave me the note "memory card corrupted"
I bought a new memory card, also the same steps, it succeeded, after a little use warmed the device.
I went back to Windows, I went to sleep a little, when I woke up, I did not find memory card, and repeat what happened in the past,
The old memory card back to work, but Android does not work, I worked formate, and also the same steps it did not succeed. I thought the problem of the laptop, it worked formate did not succeed it.
What can I do?
Have there been this problem with one?
I apologize if the problem is long.
Thank you.

Hi,
first of all lol @ buying a new card..i believe it was not necessary doing this
second, next time be more detailed if you want a proper help, details like card brand, capacity, speed class,fake/not fake..!
Usually high temps are caused by constant battery drain in things like GPS or WiFi antennas.
even when playing games the area where is the sd card and right around it will get warmer,as the card is higly used so it's "normal"
what u used to format the card?
And in the end... THIS IS A DEVELOPERVERSION!
Its not ready for daily use. Its just a "testversion".
If you have Problems, live with it.
If you dont want to live with it, go back to WM!
Sorry for beeing rude, but there are tons of post like "this dont work.. that dont work" and it has been stated clearly that it is still under development.
So many questions are the same,it seems stupid.please search the forum.

For starters some cards are simply not compatible with WP7.
You should try and make sure that your card is properly formatted before flashing. Use Panasonic SDFormatter to format your card..
FULL>Overwrite.
Size adjustment ON.
Format the card and then try again, If it doesnt work still then you need to use another card. There is a supported card thread in WP7 forum.

you probably would have more luck if you put this in the HD2 WP7 forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=975
you would also find that a quick search wil give you the answer as there are more threads on SD card issues than there are anything else
however because you are new an that was your first post im not going to be a complete arse!
the SD card issue is probably the single biggest issue with WP7 on the HD2.
Im not going to go in to details, but the the basics are as follows,
some cards will work, some cards dont, there is no list, but statistically you stand a better chance with a class 2 or 4 card
other than that there is nothing you or anyone else can do, its Luck, pure an simple.
there is a small chance that you can format the card and have some success, look for the panasonic SD formatter, use it and completely format the card.
It might help but it probably wont.

Oo, ya just beat me too it! but there is no reliable list
Thanks all for the answers
First I will format the card and see what happen. If still doesn't see the card I will buy a new one.
How can I know which SD Card class I already have?
Sorry about my post in the wrong place I will take care next time
have a nice day guys

it ususally tells you on the card its self, a wee number in the corner, some older / OEM cards may be blank, in this case there isnt much you can do to tell, if you can find the model number on it you could google it and see if anyone has posted the spec, perhaps there is a way to view the spec on a PC, ive never tried.
if you do end up buying one just be careful, dont buy anything you cant afford to have sit around gathering dust, there is no way of knowing if it will work until you try it, and even then there is the possibility of it being unstable, random restarts is the most common but there is a whole bunch of stuff that has been put down to dodgy SD cards.
what id suggest is coming back to us (on the WP7 forum) with what you have found, but use one of the many many many threads that are already there, we get a bit touchy when someone opens yet another SD card thread
stick to class 2 or 4 dont go for anything that goes on about ultra fast blar blar, probably go no higher than 8GB just now, as the cost starts to jump up after that and as i said, there is a very real chance that it will either A, not work, or B have issues.
once you get a working one though it is trully very very fast!
