Google Instant Search with Fast Flip. - Nexus One General

I currently use long-press search for Voice Search. Anyone know of a way I can get Voice searches to automatically go to the Fast Flip previews?

Annoying Bug

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem...
I click the app drawer open
Click the search button
Pops up Search Apps
Then, Google Voice Search overrides almost immediately and can't do anything but that...
Anyone else have this
Yes, same thing here. I never noticed it because I typically don't hit search after opening the drawer.
Yup me too, except I have handcent sms so when I open the drawer and try to use the search hardware key a permission screen asking to use voice search or handcent quick compose by voice for default. To me I think it may have been meant as a voice shortcut and I don't think its really a bug I kinda like it. My vote would be too keep it unless there is another shortcut that will take me to voice search without taking up an icon on one of my home pages.
edit: I didn't realize until just now that the shortcut to voice search was holding down the hardware key...maybe it is a bug ...hehe

Easy mode hides mute and headset buttons

My father has this device and has vision limitations and I set the display to use the Easy Mode. He told me that when he is on a call the mute and headset buttons don't show up. He has difficulty reading the top bar even with the large font selected. I think what would work for him instead of enlarging text in the bar would be to have a lock screen that has large icons/widgets that would be a way to fix this? Also is there a way for him to open either Waze or Google Navigation from a contact and also if S Voice would do this.
Also I don't want to anything that could be an issue with AT&T and his warranty. I know this might be a lot do but any help is appreciated.
Thanks

1.) Easy Mode does disable those functions when you're in a call. On a phone call, the only options displayed are "Mute", "Hide/Unhide Keypad" and "End Call".
2.) There isn't a way to "fix" the native lock screen with larger icons/widgets. The only enhancements you can make is the clock/date size from small, medium or large. If you do want customization for the lock screen, maybe search the Play Store for a lock screen launcher they may add the customization you want.
3.) If he is using a Galaxy S 4, Google Navigation is integrated into Google Maps now. Voice commands with S Voice will open native apps pre-installed on the phone such as this. That shouldn't be a problem. Waze, which is not native and is installed via the Play Store, probably will not open via S Voice. Again, there may be easier ways to do it. For example, I don't use S Voice on my GS4, I use Google Now.

Easier and integrates well with Android devices.
Hope this info helps!

[Q] How can I replace LGs Voice Mate by Google Voice?

Is there any way to replace the LGs Voice Mate by Google Voice? I access Voice Mate by sliding my finger from the unlocked screen of my LG G2 from the bottom up towards the left and liftiting it once my finger reaches the microphone icon which launches Voice Mate.
Ivan
I agree, Google Now is all we need. I wish LG would let us get rid of some of this bloat...
Yea I know I mean Google is right there next to in in the middle, I'm sure someone will mod it soon enough we will be able to change the quick access shortcuts.

Google voice search, without the "beam me up Scotty" thing!

Simple question, but haven't found a clear answer:
Is it possible to launch the Google Voice search screen on the watch, without either having to swipe several times to the left or having to sound like a dork? I just want to be able to bind it to a clickable area on my watchface (for instance through Watchmaker), so I dont have to say "OK Google".
Is it possible through Tasker or by any other means?

Pujie Black is what I use, but I'm sure other Watch face apps have the option too.
After you open the app in any other way you find, won't you still have to talk to your watch and look like captain kirk?
Well true.. But saying "OK Google" is kind of a giveaway, compared to just saying "How will the weather be tomorrow". That just makes me look crazy and not dorky.
And oddly enough I find that I have to say "Okay Google" very loud and V-E-R-Y C-l-E-A-R-L-Y, which just adds to the goofyness... Google seems to be understanding "OK Google" far worse than it understands everything else..
So is it possible?

Trigger voice search in Android Auto programmatically ?

Does anyone know the intent that should be used to trigger voice search on a phone running the Android Auto app ?
I have tried calling android.intent.action.VOICE_ASSIST - which does bring up voice search, but it appears to be the full google assistant window, as it covers 2/3 of the screen, and sits on top of the screen if no command is heard.
I also tried android.intent.action.VOICE_COMMAND, this looks more like the voice search that is started from within Android Auto (only covers the top 1/4 of the screen, and disappears when finished listening) - but this doesn't appear to accept any voice input.. despite showing that it's listening.
Anyone have any ideas if there are other actions that can be called to kick off the voice search ? - I'm basically looking to replicate touching the mic button in the top right of Android Auto.
Thanks!
Did you ever find an answer to this?
