Hi, I'm coming from the Droid X and want to know of any ROMs with kernels that support tun.ko for VPN Connect? I've finally got the IPSEC client working and was hoping others have done the same with the Fascinate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't pulled the trigger yet on the Samsung, being able to VPN into our Cisco gear is a pre-req.
Thanks in advance.

Guys,i would just like to know if there's a Kernel which is based on LInux 2.6.38 version?
The thing is, that kernel with Linux version 2.6.38 is capable of packet injection.
I would just want to know if it is possible for the galaxy Y to both enable the WIFI and tethering capabilities of our devices.
I'm planning to develop an app wherein the device(galaxy y) will be a router connected to a WIFI and at the same time, capable of servicing (thru wireless tether/not bluetooth) other device as an hotspot.i hope this is possible for the development in our device.thanks in advace.
Please enlighten me if there are more concerns regarding this.thanks!
Hey guys, please do reply on this Question.really need some answers from the experts.. :crying:
Is it possible for GALAXY YOUNG to be connected to WIFI and simultaneousl sharing that WIFI connection via wireless tether (not bluetooth)?
thanks for the one who will answer my queries.
i'am afraid not. AFAIK all kernel based 2.6.35.x
Hi have been trying to get a TP-WN722N to run on my i9505 rooted and cwm recovery
TP-WN722N chipset = atheros ar9271
needs ath9k_htc driver
and htc_9271.fw
has anyone got a module i can insmod?
Am new to android as of 2 days ago so am still learning how to do everything. Bricked about 3 times.
Am trying to connect this usb wifi adapter to get monitor mode and injection. for aircrack/reaver
(maxters - aircrack-suite-for-galaxy-note-2)
or a link to a newbie tutorial to build kernel source supporting ath9k drivers?
Anyway will donate $15 to anyone that can get me running (is this allowed?)
cheers
Will still donate if somebody can help
compile kernel
Am about to compile kernel from source and build modules.
Will post after if it is successful and anyone is interested?
Will try do ath9k and rtl8187 drivers.
success
Success. Had problems with compiling on ubuntu 13.04. Then couldn't insmod the compiled modules due to dependencies for the mac80211 module so I ended up just compiling wanams adam kernel with the required modules built in and bang no more problems. Copied firmware to folder.
Tp link tl-wn722n wifi adapter running in monitor mode. Aircrack and reaver working with no problems. No -1 channel issue. hasn't cause any other problems with the phones built in wifi or anythng else.
Hope someone may find this useful. Will upload when i can post links if anyone wants it. But would be better to compile yourself
P.s. i am using this for easy pentesting on networks which i have permission. Not intended for illegal purposes.
This is awesome! Great work, i would love you to update the files as i am pretty new to linux...

So you placed all of the modules and everything into a kernel and flashed it? May you please post a link in a drop box or something, to the working kernel with the modules in it?
Sorry for the huge bump

Hi there. Decided to stop lurking and finally made an account. Also, I realize this is an incredible bump, but it's the only thread I could find on the subject.
I managed to compile the latest release of the CM11 kernel (same as my S4 is running) with ath9k and mac80211 support baked in (not modular), but my AR9271 is still b0rked. It shows up in lsusb, so it's working, but not functioning. I've tried like, everything....... except giving it extra power. Did you need to do that? AFAIK it only draws about 200-300 mA at most, and the S4 is more than capable of that ._.
Does anyone know if there's something special needed to get the adapter working apart from plugging it in? I'm losing sleep D:

I have a home server, running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with Amahi. It has OpenVPN support and the Open VPN server is infact working, according to the Amahi dashboard on Amahi's website (not my local server).
I have two Android devices that I would like to connect to my OpenVPN server, one is my Verizon Galaxy S4 (running the Hyperdrive rom). The other is my Nexus 10 running the latest Cyanogenmod Nightly.
I have followed this tutorial, but there isn't an OpenVPN setting in either device's Network settings menu. Does anyone have a good how to on setting up OpenVPN for Android?
Does anyone have a guide for this? I have searched quite a bit and haven't had much luck in figuring this out.

Have you tried the OpenVPN Connect client from the play store?
Maybe have a look here:

If you did not add VPN support during the install OpenVPN will not work. I just re-flashed Hyperdrive RLS 9.1 safestrapped on my VZW S4 and upon adding that option during the aroma install - OpenVPN started to work. I unfortunately wanted to do a restore from my old one (without the vpn support option) because I had everything setup perfectly. Is there a way to later add the VPN support that the aroma installer takes care of during initial setup?
I think you can dirty flash, since it's the same rom and same version.
I did select VIN support, but that doesn't have OpenVPN support.

Hello people.
For gaming (and 3DS) purposes, I have tried to install both PA 3.69 and CM 10.1 to get to use Homepass methods that rely on MAC spoofing to get more streetpass hits.
But none of these two roms actually boots, they just stay on the Google logo.
Is there anyway I could boot these, or use anything that could work for MAC spoofing in Android 4.4 ? (I don't expect it since I've heard it was fixed)
Thanks in advance for your answers !
Bump, I'd really be grateful for any help
Hello everyone!
I am trying to get bluetooth tethering to work for my 2017 model (7. Gen) Kindle Fire HD 10.
Looking into this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892396 I found out about the BlueVPN way.
Unfortunately I am getting an error, that "My device does not support VPN connections Cannot find com.vpntether.VPNTetherService
Trying to install this via the Tun.ko installer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aed.tun.installer) I got another error "Cannot find a compatible tun module for your device! Please try again later..."
Did anyone get this to work with the 2017 model?
Any help is appreciated!!!
Kind Regards
Dustin
