Thanks a lot. Now hopefully we can get Assassin's Creed™ - Altaïr's Chronicles for free too
Someone should make a thread with the apks of the Free Games so far.
Has anyone been having problem with this game? The game runs fine, but I keep getting a force close message, even when the game isn't running.
Ive had the same problem with it giving me FC errors even when game not running i uninstalled

I've tried to get this but all I get is a 'bookmark'.. no link to get the game
Even tried on my phone :/

Same, uninstalled.

I'm getting random FCs as well when the game isn't even running. I did uninstall the crapware that you had to install first though. Not sure if that's related. Game play is decent. Fun little game. I'll keep it around for a bit longer.
I am getting fc's when the phone boots and randomly as well. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removing the hos folder, removing the gameloft app, ect. Nothing seems to affect the fc's. The game runs but is glitchy starting. Sometimes it won't load, sometimes it will play the opening video then go to black screen and never load the game, occasionally it will load the game to the "touch the screen to continue" but the screen will be completely unresponsive. I did get it to load completely a few time and was able to play a bit. It is fun but the fc's are very anoying. I may keep it thru xmas then uninstall. The other free game from gl earlier this month "dungeon hunter" runs flawlessly.
Epicly posted using the xda app!
I'm getting the same issue. wtf is it doing that its force closing when not running? Is this the reason they are not on the market their apps doing tracking type **** even when not running?
It could be related to the version of the game? I noticed gameloft gives the Epic a different version of their games, the icons do not have the HD high resolution image.
I still have yet to try this game because I haven't downloaded the data package that is required....
Can anyone post a link to download the data package?
i dont think that the EB13 update that was posted by samsung on the website is the real thing....to be honest i think that is just another test release from the looks of it because they are pushing an update out via OTA that you have to wait for......i mean i messing with the one that samsung posted up and all of the things that it was suppose to fix is not fixed.......im going to wait for the OTA
I think it's already been confirmed in the OTA status thread that it's the same thing from Samsung's website...
EDIT: I guess it has not been confirmed yet. Anybody with an OTA update care to confirm or deny?
Suite yourself, killer, but you're the only person I've seen who's expressed that opinion ever since Samsung got the correct EB13 files up. Yes, at first they had some EB01 files listed, as well as had some misnamed as KB13, but for ~15 hours now they've had EB13 posted, and many people on XDA, including experienced developers, have downloaded, flashed, and started digging into EB13. I feel pretty sure it's the real deal.
I think that the majority of people's issues are coming from bad upgrades/flashes, and they need to A) clear cache (including Dalvik if they're using CWM) and B) if the issues persist they should do a clean wipe/flash.

Clearing the cache is stuff you do when you don't have the official stuff....you shouldn't have to go through all that trouble if it was the official release.....idk.....im going to wait for the OTA and see if there is any difference.....just to be sure
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
just get it off Samsung's site. it works perfect took 2 minutes to install and have no issues whatsoever
Have anyone even gotten the update via OTA
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
im waiting for the OTA , and not received it yet. im a very patient person
If it's not official, then GalaxySSupport shouldn't be tweeting that it is.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Its the official. The ota is pushed from sprint. Thats the only difference. We may receive small patches and things for other bugs but this is the official froyo for our phones.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I got the ota and I'm having issues no camera,no pics in gallery but they are still on my sd card, no music player I got a player from the market and it works so my music is on my sd card. The music icon is pink also not sure if it is supose to be.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
i know the Syndicate development team is waiting for the OTA version before they dig in and do their thing. it might just be a precaution, i really don't know myself. i'm waiting on the OTA so i can send it to them, but if anyone has it, they could do that first. of course once you install it i think it might be too late.
It has been confirmed in multiple threads, there is just 200 pages to sort through since it's release. The files are the EXACT same.

Yea there appears to be an issue with eb14 reading media files. Apparently formatting you memory card then reloading your files resolves that.

No, clearing cache is stuff you do when you want to eliminate the possibility of a preexisting mess screwing up your experience. The only time an OS upgrade will work 100% perfectly and smoothly is by doing a wipe and clean install. If you just flash overtop of what you already have, expect complications.
This is true of all OSes. A clean Ubuntu install will always be more worryproof than upgrading from, say, 9.10 to 10.10. A clean Windows 7 SP1 install will always be smoother than installing SP1 on top of an existing Windows 7 gold install.
At any rates, wipes and clean installs shouldn't be scary or 'unnecessary' to regulars on this forum. It was a whole terrifying 10 minutes of work to resync my phone and get my apps downloading.

No worries here. Root, then use Titanium Backup to save your apps and data. Flash, crash or trash your phone, but just reroot and use Titanium to restore it. And you get your Birds data back.

I hope I put this in the right thread. I flashed a different kernal, clicked set on boot with setcpu and it instantly locked up my phone. Now I've lost all my photos and videos and my sd card is blank. Any ideas if any on how to retrieve them. Thank you in advance

There's a software online called "minitool power data recovry". It has a price ($40-$145, they have a functional demo), but its performed miracles for me in terms of data recovery.
But my first recomendation, anytime you experience data loss, STOP everything your doing with the drive (or sdcard), every second you try to access it, you might be loosing more and more data.
Sent from an Epic with 4G
After you figure out this mess get Titanium Media Sync so you don't have these problems anymore. I gather you don't have a cwm backup?
Sent from Bonsai 7.1.1.1
Also never pick SetCPU for set changes on boot until you thoroughly test your settings. This way it will restore to stock settings if you lock up and have to reboot. The same goes to Voltage Control or any overclocking/undervolting app. Every phone is different and requires custom settings and extensive testing.
I did....i have nothing now. Idk what happened to the phone

Did I just get a bad card... If its the latter will TEP replace it?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Edit: went to Sprint store and told them about my problem. they didn't ask any questions just replaced the sd card... Unfortunately they said they were out of 16 gb cards so I got an 8, however they gave me the 16 gb bad card back and a business card with the store managers signature on it and said come back in a week with the SD card and they will replace it... Seems like I'll get to keep the 8 gigger (as he put it) too...
I saw this problem earlier in the week, and my friend's epic wiped all pics/videos- blanked it, but somehow kept the apps.. the data was still there- I used diskdigger (pc app from diskdigger.org, which you have to pay for- i think it's $15 now) and an usb sd card reader. I did a surface scan for traces of files (dig deeper), where you have to tell it what to look for (eg: look for .jpgs only), and it pulled up a ton of files- some of them browser cache files, some were the missing pics, etc. I guess you could use any file recovery program, but the thing to remember: if you think you lost everything, don't use the sd card! Writing anything to it might write over the files you are trying to recover. A new 16gb card off amazon is around $30. I'd love to know why the epic erases everything.
I have had a kernel do this to me twice in the past. Turned out to be some error in script. It has long since been fixed. It was like my SD card got formatted. Everything was gone. Hope that's not the case for you. Out of curiousity, which kernel did you flash?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
I flashed genocide kernal which I run on my other epic at 1.4 on demand and it works great. For some reason it totally wiped out my other one.....strange....

Yes same thing for me got replacement with card from Asurion and I am convinced now their cards are not probably 16gb and faulty. I can't access the card at all on my pc even with some advanced tools.

hey guys i recently purchased a nexus 7. I also purchased asphalt 7 for market. Now since i dont have a wi fi i want to download the data files through my computer.l So what should i download powervr data files or mali data files or something else. Plz help guys as i am new to nexus 7
You are breaking new ground...
If you take away WiFi, you are kind of left with a single player game machine.
I would never have considered using a Nexus 7 without WiFi.
If nothing else I would suggest doing your downloads at a coffee shop or other business with public WiFi.

Titanium Backup Manager?
You can only download the games data folder via your android device or find it via the dark side of the net. These data folders can be big usually between 500MB - 1.3GB in size e.g. GTA 111 and Max Payne respectively. If you manage to download the games via the android device, then you can copy the games data folder to your PC for safe keeping saving you from downloading it again if you were to ever wipe your device.
The games folder is located in the "data" folder which is located in the "android" folder on your devices storage. This is the location you would copy the games data from and restore to as-well.
I have hard time believing you purchased and don't have wifi suddenly to stop you downloading files using download method in game. You downloaded the game from internet also and don't know which data to include. If you bought the game and figured out that without wifi you can just download separate files i would think that you'd now enough about android and your device already to download right data. Just sayin

He can purchase the game from his computer, but I agree. You need WiFi to get games to the tablet that require WiFi. Buy a cheap wireless router. Netgear and Cisco are available nearly everywhere.

I just got my Nexus 10 and was syncing with my account (downloading 50-some apps) and started getting "Error "[app name]" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]")
I have a good internet connection and I can navigate the store, surf the web, etc. but I only got a couple of apps downloaded before this message started coming up for every other app that was supposed to sync. Is anyone else getting this?
I tried a factory reset with the same result. A few apps download then the errors start flying. Very frustrating.
Thank you for this. I have also been getting the same error although I have a galaxy note 10.1. I'm guessing its most likely a server problem on Googles side.
I was just about to factory reset as well.
