Gingerbread...
Refined the user interface, improved the soft keyboard and copy/paste features, and added support for NFC....

Awsome. Would you recomend swapping from froyo to gingerbread? And if so are there any recomended roms to use?

In your opinion, which rom out there runs the fastest on the G1. (regardless of android version)

I tied many 2.1 and 2.2 ROMS but I always return to SuperD. For me it's the fastest and most stable ROM for daily use.
Yeah if your goin 1.6 I would have to say super d or supercsdi for sure

For those who like trying various roms.

The developers who brought us mikshift have a beta release called mikshifted g.
It offers:
-based off leaked Gb rom
-gingerbread 2.3.3
-HTC sense 2.1
-HTC sense 3.0 lockscreen
-HTC sense 3.0 messaging app
- HTC sense 3.0 USB modes
I've tried just about every rom on here then saw this one and decided to share the info. It runs pretty dang good for beta release. As far as I can tell everything works great. You can find the rom on the Mik Mik devs website.
Have fun
It's also in the dev section here on xda...

Yes the aamikam "the wizard" knows how to cook a Rom. When I switched to android I tired quite a few. Found his to be the fastest, most stable, and finished roms around. His latest MikShifted G - Sense2.1 Beta is also great. Have to keep reminding myself it's a BETA.

I was being a little bit facetious. There isn't an actual thread for it, it's buried deep in the MikShift v1.1 thread.

2.3.4 for DZ?

Hey,
I read a bit in this Forum and saw a 2.3.4 for G2. I started to hope i can get this too on my DZ. Because the actual Stock ROM seems not stable and have some bugs. So 2.3.4 only for G2 OTA, or can we expect this too on DZ?

Actually, you can have 2.3.5 on your G2! as long as your rooted and you are running Cyanognemod 7!
Talking about official HTC release.. i really hope so, because now sense crashes often.
CM and MIUI are both 2.3.5 based so you'll have to jump on one of those. As far as i know, the latest leak from T-Mobile is 2.3.4 and the latest Sense based rom is 2.3.3.

[Q]Mysense rom

Is there a rooted 2.3.7 mysense Rom for the mytouch 4g
No but there is a plain old gingerbread rom that's exactly like the stock except its rooted.
Nope not yet just 2.3.5
Is it sense 2.1 ? 3.0 seems to run a little slow

Why do you want 2.3.7? You don't have an NFC chip, sooo?

Utopia 1.0 or swiftdroid asis/sdsl 1.1

The most stable rom with good battery life ( excluding 2.1 roms ) is CM 7.2 by tejas build three.

Utopia 1.0 is good daily rom based on android 2.2 with excellent battery life and stability but it's not good for gaming. Application compatibility is lower than SDSL which is based on android 2.3 and SDSL supports theme choser themes which makes it more customizable. So basically SDSL is better for gaming and for people who needs more customization or want to use certain applications that requires android 2.3. Utopia 1.0 is better if you're looking for stable rom for daily use.
The rom I used for the longest period was PCFighter's V5 with supercharger and and loopy smoothness script. It was the better I've ever tried, stable and fast. Now I'm on ICS, and while I find it faster than GB, I think still isn't enough stable for everyday use if your friend simply wants a phone that work.
EleganceSwift 5.0 , very stable and comfortable rom. Without any tweaks is very fast , and very long battery life (in my phone 3-4 days without wifi )
