Hi folks!
First of all, thanks a lot for all the dev team and community for letting me enjoy at a 200% my hd2. I am currently a satisfied and happy WP7 user planning in getting a dual boot.
So... what concerns us here, is the problem that when connected to a headset, microphone stops working. i guess that is because the phone is unable to detect whether there is or not a microphone into the headset connected.
So the solution I am using is a standard (not even 5€ cost) blackberry/htc/.... headset cable which can de-attach the earphones.
I've attached the picture of the one I sell in my shop in Spain. Button working perfectly for voice-commands and you can connect any standard 3.5mm jack earphones.
Why bother? so... basically i have a 3.5mm jack in my car to connect my phone to it.... and only thing I hated was that noone could hear me in a call while driving.
One more happy customer from the xda community!
Cheers guys!

PD: waiting for a new rom from the wp7 community...... :'(
This is the solution I am looking for. I am currently don't have a radio in my car and my Leo is my all for music. Its going thrue a DSP and in to an amp. Sounds great! Care to share make and model number of the piece you got there?

Hi i've been coming on here for a while but have never found the need to register or post, but today i discovered something i thought i could share with ya.
Currently i use a pair of phillips earphones with a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor to listen to music on my qtek s100, anyway i was boppin away listenin to my tunes when i recieved a call from the mrs, i obviously unplugged the earphones and tried to answer the call but unfortunately the phone was stuck in hands free(sumthing to do with the switch being stuck), anyway i was desperate needed to talk to the mrs so i plugged the earphones back in to see if i could hear her & @ that moment i realised that she could hear me even with the earphones if i used one earphone as an earpiece & the other as a microphone.
Sorry if someones discovered this before, i did a search but couldn't find anything, & i just wanted to share with my fellow magician enthusiasts.

Well it works.. but it's not the earphone ...
apparently, the mike that is located near the mini USB port still works even when the earphone are plugged in...
I noticed one more thing.. when I make the call, other party can hear me, but the opposite is not true
cheers
Hello everyone,
I am using the Qtek 2020 for some years now and I still like it.
Now I have an old army jeep, which doesn't have anything of audio build in.
Now my question is this; is there any other way of connecting my Qtek to audio devices then using the 2.5mm jack? Since my jack is broken (when I connect headphones the speakers on the device will mute, but no sound on the headphones). And thinking of the age of the device I don't consider it to be worth spending a lot of money getting it repaired.
Thank you for any advice you can give me!

Hi, I have an XDA Serra, very pleased with this phone so far, the only downside is battery life, but hey I can live with that.
I am using it in the car for Sat Nav (Co Pilot 6) or in car holder for calls on the move.
Unfortunately the sound generated from the handset speaker isn't great and therefore I would like to be able to either use a car holder that amplifies the sound, or use the phone through the a car stereo.
My current stereo is pretty basic so I am looking to change it for a Bluetooth model, however I would like to know what works and which model to buy (not too expensive).
I would like to be able to 1) hear phone calls 2) run co-pilot 3) play music through the car stereo. Is it possible to do this through a BT capable Stereo? anyone got this working succesfully?
Cheers, Blair
There is another issue with the sound: as the speaker ist on the back side of the phone, most car holders will cover the speaker, so the volume goes down. Same happens when you lay it on the table.
re
dark_lobito, thanks for your response, I must admit I didn't pick up on that at first, just checked my car kit and it appears that the speaker is not fully covered, but is blocking some of the speaker.
I bought this http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=169986 which is OK for the price, and gives enough sound for a quiet room indoors. It's not amazing but is good enough for using as a portable radio/music player, but not in the car.
I have been looking and there are quite a few car stereos with BT audio streaming, as well as phone capabilities. But I need to know if it works as I want it to before splashing out.
I am hoping somebody has got these functions working with a BT Car Stereo to advise me.
Cheers, Blair
My car has an Auxilliary input, so I used the adapter that came with the phone and plugged the charger and Aux In wire to the phone. That sends the sound through the speakers of your car.
Also when you use the adapter that came with the phone it lets you use the microphone also so it works perfectly.
re
samz465, thanks for reply, but I'm not sure what u mean? The only adapter I got with the phone (O2 XDA Serra version) was a cable that allows u to connect to a 3.5 jack.
Sorry to be a pain, any pictures showing what adaptor you mean?
Cheers, Blair
Can I jump in here?
I have the HTC Pro too (Sprint)
I also have a car with an IPOD input
Well tonight I connected that to the phone's dongle via the 3.5mm input.
It sounds so good with my speakers ..BUT when I connect the USB headset that came with it, and make a phone call, they can't hear me but I can hear them just LOUD
Am I doing something wrong?

You might want to check out the Motorola T605 - Bluetooth hands-free car kit. It has stereo BT profile and an FM transmitter.
Might save you the cost and installation of a new head unit.
I've never used the T605 so I can't vouch for how good it is.
i've bought a car kit fm transmitter from ebay & made a quick review of it here. it works ok but you can only charge it if you don't use the fm transmitter & vice versa, it does not have a speaker unfortunately... does the job ok otherwise. decent/good enough sound for GPS & even for music playback
Too get better sound you should also try SRS WOW HD. It boosts volume and certainly clears up the mumble. Voices are recognizable as voices instead of monsters coming out of a can.
I have an AUX jack in my car and with my icrap i could plug it via the 3.5mm connection and use it as hands free, but with the LEO i plug it in and i can hear the other person via my car speakers but they cant hear me!? is this a common problem or am i missing somthing?

I had the same problem with my HD. People told me that I was wrong and that the phone could detect it was not a 3.5mm connector with a mic band on it, but it never worked for me.
I'd love an answer to this as I regularly use my phone as a music player in my car - same setup as you described.
One should be able to test this quite easily: call a friend. And if you don't have a friend - just call someone. Tell him that you sleep with/think he is an/damaged his (whatever) and if he starts shouting at you.. well I guess you have your answer. If nothing happens - same story I guess. The last possibility is great - you can now call everyone and finallysay the truth to him or her - all the things you always wanted to say, but were afraid to say. All thanks to HTC...
i know it doesnt work, thats why im posting the message!! any other smart arse comments?
It works, at least on mine, I am often listening to music using classic headphones and I can call people / use voice command with the microphone of the HD2. It is the same with the AUX input on my car.
Maybe you have a jack that has the microphone contact ?
Hi,
Previously I was running my HD2 on the official WWE rom 1.66 from HTC.
I'm an avid music listener so I had and aux cable fitted into my car stereo
so I could listen to my playlist from my HD2 through my car's stereo.
As I've found out I could actually answer calls and talk through the system itself. Which was kind of cool since I figured I'd already saved big bucks on some car handsfree tool. But then again the 3.5mm jack has no mic input in it. So i figured it was using the phone's built in mic instead for receiving audio and the car's stereo for transmitting audio.
Currently I'm running on Dutty's Leo HG V1 WWE rom with 2.08.50.08_2 radio
which is sweet since it's very stable, fast, and close to stock as i'd like it (kudos to dutty). But I found out since then, I couldn't use my car's stereo as a handsfree anymore since i can only listen to music and not making calls with it, where i could only hear the person on the other side but they cant hear s**t what i'm trying to say.
can anybody help me on this?
thanks and really appreciate it.
(sorry for the long essay i'd like to make it as detail and understandable as possible )
Most likely a ROM issue, all those I've used work fine in that respect. I'd try a couple other radio ROMs first, if it doesn't do it then change ROM altogether.
hi,
i go with kilrah, seems to be a rom thing. the only way to get around this problem without changing the rom is maybe to use a cable that offers a build in microphone. i get one at ebay some time ago, it stick between your hd2 and the headset/carcable, and works quiet well. here is a link to ebay . as i said bevore its more a workaround then a solution. i use this thing to leave my hd2 in the pocket and use my own headphones that dont have a microphone.
regards mad
thanks bros.
figured it might be the rom anyways
thanx guys for these thread
cause i have the same problem with energy rom
so, would anyone used a rom where the headset were work perfectly??????????
