[Q] How to put android nand on 1024leo tmobile Hd2? - HD2 General

Hey everyone, this is my first post.
So, i recently attempted to put magdlr and the android nand on my hd2. But when the dft application to get android gave me an error. I found out that it was my ROM that was the problem. So, I flashed my Rom and bricked it. I have a new hd2 today with
ROM version 3.14
Radio 2.15
I still want that android rom and I ask if anyone can give me step by step processes on how to get it?

If you can get it to the bootloader tben it is not bricked. While the phone is ocf gold down the volume button and tap the power(end) button and the tri color bootloader should come up. let me know if you can do this and I will guide you further.

The phone won't turn on, charge, or even show a screen.
I can't go into bootloader, can't go into hard reset mode.
When I go into usb mode, all I see on my computer screen is something about Qualcomm. Nothing else, I can't even access the harddrive space.
I'm pretty sure its fully bricked.

the problem i have right now isn't returning the phone, I already have the phone in hand right now. The question i'm asking is..how do I put android nand on my phone right now? My ROM is the newest right now.

Oh yeah it is bricked then.
A few questions though. Do you have a T-Mobile HD2, I think you do. What exactly did you try to flash to it, I want spacifics like ROM name and Radio version. I ask this cause I garantee you that you flashed wrong radio version.
Using a JTAG and a ORT iz the only way to fix a bricked HD2. Go here to learn more.

Ok no problem just download HSPL 3 or HSPL 4. Run wich ever one you download and install HSPL 2.08 as this is the highest HSPL that MAGLDR supports right now. Next download MAGLDR 1.13. Afteryou have both of these installed pick out a NAND Andriod ROM from here and follow the instructioms of the ROMs' developer to install it to your HD2 as there is two different ways to install now via computer and USB flash or via SD card flash. For a great dtep by step guide got to XDA member MSkip's guide it is a really good giude.
Hope tbis is what you are looking for

are you guys sure that hspling my phone to 2.08 is okay even if I have rom 3.14??

Yes you are totally cool. Besides if you are going to flash a NAND Andriod ROM to your HD2 your Windows Mobile will be wiped from the phone and become a Andriod only device unless you flash something else to it.
The things you have to fear is flashing a non compatible radio for your HD2. Sense you have a TMOUS HD2 like me you have to make sure your radio is a TMOUS radio. Easiest way to do this is look at the third set of numbers. Example.
Radio version 2.15.50.14 Yes Radio version 2.07.51.22 No

As long as you have a 50 in that spot you are good with two exzemptions. Do not use radios that look like this.
2.04.50.xx or 2.05.50.xx They will brick your TMOUS HD2

No HSPL

Since my HTC HD2 from Tmobile the SPL is 2.1
Is it possible to use a cooked rom without HSPL? Or is there another HSPL 2.1 hack.
Also, I searched the forum on downgrading it, which involves microsd. I'm not sure how to do it, anyone care to explain it to me? Thanks ^^
As long as you have one of these SPLs currently on the device - SPL 1.42.0000, SPL 1.62.0000, SPL 1.66.0000, SPL 2.07.0000, SPL 2.08.0000, SPL 2.10.000 you can flash HSPL3.
And you should always have hspl when flashing cooked ROMs
Dude I'm pretty sure there is no spl 2.1....
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
It's actually a 2.10.000
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6891358&postcount=1893
So I download HSPL3 and do it? Edit: For installing HSPL3, do I have to enter the tri color screen than do it or no? And also, is HSPL3 compatible with TMOBILE?
Also, how do I find out of it's a LEO512 or LEO1024? Like how does it know the HSPL is compatible with me HTC HD2 Tmoible? I know the SPL is 2.10.000
But I read that there is 3 different kind of Leo. So I dont know if it will be compatible
Edit: Let's say I bricked it, how would I enter boot loader?
Bump. need help ASAP ><
To confirm the instruction
1. Run HSPL3 (Do I have to be in the tri color screen in order to install it?)
2. Run the rom I want using CUSTOMRUU (It's a Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (23133) V18) (Do I have to be in the tri color screen? Or can I just plug in the phone and run the custom RUU?
3. After I flashed it, and I want to install Android on it, do I have to do anything about radio version or no? < I am asking this because on my current build, I hear robot voices... After I install the V18 everything should be fine and I don't have to worry about the radio right? Thanks again ^^
Bump! I really need help >< I really want Android on this phone and I keep hearing robot voice when calling..
I don't use the Miri ROM but I would search his thread for all instances of "Android" and see what other users are doing. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Dude... so there's a post in this section, actually one of the first ones in the area... stickyed close to the top (4th thread actually), that talks about EVERYTHING you just asked... and it's specificly for our 1024LEO (T-Mobile HD2)
give it a glance... it also provides the links to HSPL3 and instructions on how to install it.
I ran though this the 2nd day I had my T-Mobile HD2, first phone I've EVER customized, and it's all really straight forward & easy.... just be sure to RTFM
Also, as a bit of help....
when installing a ROM, the RUU will reboot the phone into the Tri-Color to perform the flash... however, if it's the first time the phone has been plugged into the computer while at the TRI-Color... the flash process will time out before the computer finishes installing the drivers required to see the device.... so I suggest going to the TRI-Color manually and pluging the phone into the computer... let the computer install the drivers (when finished, you will see the words change from SERIAL to USB in the white area of the Tri-Color screen) then run the ROM install. The RUU can be run both from the OS and from the Tri-Color
Oh, thanks!
Last question. Currently I have a official ROM from HTC, and when I boot up android, everything works fine except that when I make call I hear a robot voice.
Will flashing to custom rom fix this problem? Or do I have to update the radio? :|

Official T-Mobile ROM? it's possible... both my Fiancee and I have the HD2, I flashed to the Energy ROM, and she used a kitchen and made a custom version of the T-Mobile ROM... when running Android mine works fine on voice, she however gets the robot...
we both flashed to the radio to Leo_Radio_2.12.50.02_2
I recall seeing something about formatting the SD card and trying again to fix the robot voice issue... but I would suggest doing some searches in the HD2 Android Development section first (found in the "other" HD2 section )... I know a lot of people were reporting that issue, so I'm sure someone has "The Fix" for it.
last bit... remember to ALWAYS check if a ROM is TMOUS supported before you flash... getting a ROM from this section is a safe bet (and i think a lot of the custom ROM cooks are starting to cook the Android loader in... I know the Energy ROMs have it) but when you start going to ROMs in the Android Development section made specifically for running Android you need to make sure.

Did i brick my hd2??

Can anyone help me restore my hd2? When i start it up it stay stuck at the HTC screen in green letters. I held volume down and power and flashed this to restore to stock RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe

No if you can still get the bootloader to come up you have not bricked your HD2.
How did you flash the ROM via your computer and USB cable or via your SD card? Will your HD2 just not boot all the way into Windows Mobile? I need as much info as you can give.
i think you just bricked it. Like lawl, i'm sorry but I have no sympathy for this, you flashed your HD2 with the wrong rom. xD You shoulda read and researched before jumping into the fire. xD
Well if you can still get into the multi colored screen, then flash the right rom for it, which would be a t-mobile rom, since you said there is a t-mobile logo at the top.
Well as stated above also, if you can get into the tri color screen, you haven't bricked your device.

Well i connected my device via usb and ran the .exe file. It completed 100% but it remains stuck at the htc boot logo. Took out the battery and restarted it but it just remains stuck at the htc screen.
The reason i wanted to do this was because i installed magldr and i got to that black screen with like 10 or 11 options and tried flashing a rom but it wouldnt work so i wanted to start all over.

I have been reading for the past two weeks, ive had a nexus one evo 4g and epic 4g all rooted and running custom roms, i am no developer but i am fairly experienced following directions and flashing/rooting devices. This device has been the most difficult because it is very confusing that there is different tmobile/telestra, 1024 flash/512 flash size, spl hspl ... i am just very confused about how to run android on this device, trust me i have been reading a lot

Yes go to T-Mobile.com and in the search bar there type in HTC HD2 update you will find it. The T-Mobile site will ask you to enter your IMEI number, this can be found by removing the battery cover and battery. The IMEI will be an a sticker behind the battery. Enter it and you will be abale to download the official T-Mobile update it will have ROM 3.14.531.1 and radio 2.15.50.14..
With a TMOUS HD2 you have to make zure the ROM is compatible with a TMOUS HD2. Even more important youmust make sure the radio that will be flashed is TMOUS compatible, are you will brick your TMOUS HD2. To see a list of TMOUS radios go to here .
Edit: Do not use one of the ROMs from the above link. Sorry I know the above poster was trying to help but you have a T-Mobile HD2 so you really need to get the official ROM from T-Mobile. The link he give is to the HTC site and if you download the wrong ROM by accident andflash it you will brick your HD2.
Oh yeah oops. Sorry, my bad, didn't even read the thing.
Note: This update is not intended for use on T-Mobile(US) HTC HD2, and doing so may have undesired side effects.

It is all cool Skellyyy, I know you were trying to help. The thing is us TMOUS owners have to be very carful when it comes to flashing. We have to read very carefully what we are flashing. minumal if we flash the wrong ROM but it has the right radio, like what appears to have happen to LoveisPeace 2012, our HD2 will just not boot up into Win Mo but still go into bootloader. If we flash the wring radio or HD2 is bricked, dead, done, nomore.

Works both ways man, if you's flash the wrong radio, your phones bricked. But... you's have more internal memory not needing to partition your SD card.

You are very correct Skellyyy the wrong radio to any HTC HD2 will brick the phone no matter what model it is. But the TMOUS model is a lot more suseptable to this as it can only use TMOUS compatible radios. Most other models such as the European model and etc. can use most radios, and I said most not all, that or out there. This is why so many new TMOUS HD2 owners brick there phone cause you really have to read and study to find this info about the radio.

the regular hd2 can use them all. Worst that happens on a regular hd2 is you put a 51 radio on a 576meg enabled rom, and teh phone hangs at boot screen till you change the radio, and thats a rom issue, not the phone thats incompatible.

hehe, it matters less and less nowadays, since most set ups require ..50.. radios anyway, so we all use tmous radios.

Going back to windows mobile 6.5 from Android- SIMPLE

Hello,
Heres the story:
I sold today my htc hd2 and someone came by to my house to get it and pay. Now i got a message that he cant get used to android. Now I need info for a simple instalation of windows mobile on the htc hd2. Like Getting a windows mobile RUU.exe and simple install it with 1 setup. The phone has hyperdroid, magdlr 1.13, cwm 1.3
I need your answer fast.
David
You can just download the official rom and flash it over usb, it will overwrite everything, HSPL, radio, splash screen, everything back to stock. Or you could do the same with most other wm6.5 roms, but if you're giving it to someone not comfortable with it and you don't want to be their phone support guy for the next however long, I would give them the phone stock, or link them to the proper official rom.
If you have a US T-Mobile HD2 (1024): http://support.t-mobile.com/doc/tm54430.xml?
If you have an HTC HD2 (512): http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownloadList.aspx?p_id=297&act=sd&cat=2
The above instructions are correct, but did not mention that if you have flashed HSPL and MAGLDR that you will need to flash the stock ROM from an SD card that is under 2Gig in size. Just copy the original ROM file to the card, enter bootloader mode and go from there.
One thing, though - if the person who bought your phone can't get used to Android, he's in bigger trouble than he thinks. I mean, what the hell did he think he was buying? Is it that he can't get used to a PDA phone, a touch screen or does he prefer communicating by carrier pigeon? Rhetorical questions, I know, but geez... what the F did the guy think he was getting, and why is it now your problem?
I'm no expert, but I thought I remembered hearing something about how you weren't supposed to flash the original rom from sd, because it somehow makes it so you can't reflash hspl later if you change your mind.
Not 100% on that by any means.
I know this may involve an extra step, but to avoid usage of SD flashing, you can flash a custom HD2 WM6.xx ROM. Then flash the stock ROM..

That may have been the case in the early stages of HSPL development. If you flashed the wrong rom and got stuck on an spl that was not supported by the HSPL versions out then that was so. This is no longer the case now with all spl versions being able to be HSPL'd.
I gave him an link to an official RUU wm 6.5 NL rom. It's an exe file. I told him he haves to run this exe file in android and if that doesnt work he haves to go to boot menu (holding volume down) and if that's doesn't work he haves to try out the usb flasher option in magdlr. I also gave him the link to this forum post.
here is a simplier way to explain it. i use it sometimes if i forget how to do it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc89Gh0QpIY&feature=related
Hi, New to HD2 but not to flashing ROMs ( Mogul, polaris, TyTN 2) got a second hand TMobile USA yesterday. Came with a nand Android 2.2 install, Magldr v 1.11 and spl 2.08 hspl. I intend to flash back to the stock rom ( latest version T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1 ) so I can dual boot with an sd android install. I also intend to check out some of the custom 6.5 builds along the way.
Have installed HTC sync for Android and and all appears to be good. I can also get a usb connection while in bootloader.
I'm assuming its as simple as the 2nd post but I don't want to brick my new phone on my first day . Would somebody please confirm that I'm not making any obvious mistakes? I gather I will then need will need to flash a new HSPL, which version is recommended for my purposes?
I apologize in advance for asking such a simple question but the HD2 forums are new to me and much larger than those for any of my old phones. I have been reading for most of the past week and think I know what I'm doing but I might be completely wrong.
EDIT
Is anybody out there?
I know that posting in "[GUIDE] Flashing Your First HD2 NAND Android Rom [For Newbs]" would be more appropriate but I can't seem to post in it as I just get a bulletin message saying I don't have permission. This is the closest thread I can find for my question.
Many Thanks in anticipation of a reply
Oh well. No replies. looks like I will just have to give it a go. Will play with some other Nand android builds first and upgrade MAGLDR to 1.13. Will also experiment with different radios to see if I can improve battery life as it is shocking (loses nearly 30% in 7 hours while 'asleep").
BTW I think my current radio is 2.08.50.08 (settings/software information/baseband version - second half of string). Happy to stand corrected if this is not where you find the radio version in android - as I said before I'm new to this OS.
In case anyone is wondering. The reason for multiple posts in a dead thread is to reach the number required to post on the more appropriate development thread.
Hope that does not upset anyone. I do promise to come back to this thread and post how I got on. ie successes, failures, tips etc.

Is magldr really dangerous for HD2?

Sorry for the Question but it magldr really dangerous for HD2?
I know that writing a dirty code in the Radio Rom onthefly.
I think it was a code of HTC Desire.
But what is when i go back to hspl 2.08.0000?
Then isn't possible to write a dirty code in the Radio ROM.
Or not?
It´s only an Idea.
No, it's not dangerous
But why have many users problems with magldr?
Not with clk. I dont know why.
That makes everyone insecure.

yep sure, it will burn your car
Magldr simply is an OS witch can load other OS.. it has his kernel etc etc.. So, you could unplug cable when phone is flashing magldr, it's only a "copy" of the data into NAND SD
you can't unplug cable when you're flashing ROM RADIO, and SPL, in that case phone freezes, and, i think it's definitely dead, or you can try to reput SPL files in ROM memory via htc's serial cable, sure, not with USB cable
So, Magldr is the same as Windows Mobile, you install it by using the same method, by HSPL, as you do with Windows Mobile, and, if you unplug cable when you're uploading original Windows Mobile, phone will boot in SPL, but not in WM (because you don't have files in the NAND ROM)
i hope you'll understand what's the difference between OS and SPL.. thus.. what is magldr

who has problems?
the only issue in 1.13 is the charging mode, you can't charge phone when it's offiine, magldr freezes and (in 1.13 reboots, in 1.12 freeze phone), i think it happens because magldr doesen't have the right "libreries" witch can "load" the charging process, if you see, in all phones, when you plug the carging cable, phone will load something.. in nokia, phones boots and you see the charging icon in the screen, in htc phone boots and you see the led indicator, so, in chargin mode, phone's hardware is on, it's 'configuring' the right way to charge battery (that's not so simply)
other issues? i have WP7, and i didn't have problems with all WP7 rom i tryed, with android roms too, i think you could have a broken HD2, or a tmobile version (you have to upgrade the certify android tmobile version rom).. if you can't flash android or wp7 roms by magldr, i think you don't have the right driver in windows, so windows (pc) can't talk with hd2
if you have problems, write here

Thats magldr brick hd2 because a dirty code for activated rmnet.

maybe they have a brocken hd2, or a driver conflict in windows (pc)
if you can flash wm6.5 roms with hspl 2.08 you can load magldr. if you don't have hspl 2.08 you can't load hspl (and cooked roms)
i think users has problems, not phones

i remember the days when i had android on my sd card and everytime u rebooted,it went back to windows mobile lol. then 1 day i saw on youtube a lad puttin a cyanogen mod rom on via cwm and magldr.........I WET MYSELF lol and av never looked back. yeh,i **** myself 1st time cos i to worried about brickin my phone. but all U AV TO DO is follow all the instructions EXACTLY as they say and u won't brick ur phone.your best and safest option is to search rootin hd2 on youtube, download all there files in the link and also most videos show them doin it,so follow it step by step, pausin the video as u go along(makes it easier) then ur laughin,u need any help inbox me and i'll even find u the video/person i watched and learned from, magldr is spot on,then u'll step up to cwm lol,i av cos its abit more straight forward,u just put the file on ur sd card and install via cwm,it extracts and installs for u,simple............hope this convinces u lol
I have no problem with flashing but another users have many problems and also 2-4-8 Weeks/Month after flashing. 3 reboots and.....crash...nothing more.
And now? What is the reason? No Hardreset...nothing help...Upsssss....

Two things, I understand your awareness of the sudden influx of bad block information, but dear God man please use some contextual syntax so that people better understand you. One sentence or phrase that fully describes your thoughts in your opinion isn't necessarily the proper way to communicate clearly to other people.
Bad blocks people, OP is talking about bad blocks

SPL?

I'm trying to fix a co-workers' HTC HD2. It *had* WM 6.5 but she somehow installed SPL 3.03 (?) and I have been unable to make ANY progress with flashing a ROM onto her phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Note: I'm only familiar with working on my Captivate, the XDA community has been good to me in the past, hoping some of you can spare a few minutes to help me help out my co-worker.
Download HSPL4, boot into bootloader (tricolor) and flash HSPL 2.08.
BTW: Wrong forum!

@syngamer if its Android that you want to put on the phone then read the requirements in the above thread before you start. As you have SPL 3.0.3 on the phone you will want to follow *THIS* guide to install HardSPL and select HSPL 2.0.8 from the list or Magldr wont run properly. Also boot into the bootloader and make sure you have a new radio as that can cause problems too.
MArk.
Thanks guys, but no matter which guide/tutorial I try I keep running into the ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
you should give more detail, especially things like the full filename of the file you are using that gives the error, and details of what you are doing to perform the flash, and details of what you think you mean by ''It *had* WM 6.5 but she somehow installed SPL 3.03 '' since thats a normal spl?
ALso, is it a normal hd2, or is it a tmous hd2? (tmous is t mobile US and has green send key red end key, and its very important to know which it is)

It's a T-mobile HD2. She started trying to flash Android on it and got cLK 1.14 but couldn't progress from there.
well i cant really help with the next steps, cos ive never used cLK, its a bit too advanced for me, give me teh simplicity of magldr any day.
You didnt explain the errors tho, , i mean, if you have cLK installed, you should be using fastboot to flash cwm next i think, whereas teh error you describe sounds like you are trying to flash with teh phone in bootloader(stripey screen)?

Well, I've got Magldr installed, CWM is now on there and from there I'm set. Currently flashing (trying to at least) NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).
EDIT: holy ****, that was fast. I currently see an HTC logo...wondering if first boot takes awhile like most...and disregard. It's now loading. Success! Thanks for the links/guides everyone! This is why XDA is the best.
Congrats on your restoration f the HD2!
BTW she can dual Boot the HD2 if she likes
