Don't know about version numbers, but at MWC 10, they said that we got the new version of HTC Sense, which was then: the 2nd version.
And then we got Froyo which updated it to some stuff, I'm NOT SURE, but we may be on par with the Gratia's/Aria's Froyo: an update to the second version of HTC Sense.
Like I already said, I don't know the numbers, but there's also the Sense with the Desire Z and Desire HD, as well with all the new phones that just came out at CES. So the third version? Maybe that.
And then the new Facebook phones and the newer versions of last year's high-end phones got updated at MWC 11 this year, so I'm guessing that's a new version of Sense as well. Flyer also got a remixed version for its software.
The latest few phones (including Desire HD) are "Sense 3" IIRC, not sure what version Legend has.
i checked my htc sense version via the app manager and it shows v1.00. I cant understand. My phone is on 2.2 , build 3.15. What are the latest features of the new sense ?
Htcsense.com is one of the main features I used on my DHD

Hi all!
I saw this in ROM dev forum many times - and I don't understand because I'm a newbie in Android scene... what is the difference between FroYo Sense and a Desire HD Sense? Both are Android 2.2 (FroYo) with HTC Sense on top of it. Or not? What means HD in this case (related to Sense UI)?
Thank you!
The Desire Sense if the build of android found on HTC Desire, while the Desire HD is the build of android that is found the the HTC Desire HD device, released a couple of months or so ago, which has some new features such as Skins for the interface and other stuff (well, i used a non Desire HD build for very little time, so i don't exactly in what other aspects it is different)
mcbyte is right in hd sense you are able to install new skins in apk format and change it in a "theme manager" (don't know if it's called exactly like that).
other benefits are htc likes - a widget which shows up market apps etc. in an easy way. you can sort them better than in market. further there is htc hub, where you can download new backgrounds, themes, ringtone sets etc.
these are just two of the advantages of hd builds. if i remember some more i will post'em here
wrong post
thank you guys! I thought that the difference is bigger, because in Darkstone's new RAM build's thread some people wrote that a Sense HD build is not possible because it can't fit into the RAM - BUT a Sense build is possible. This is why I was curious the precise difference!
mods can close this (if they want)
sorry for my previous post. i thought you were asking about the difference between sense and non-sense builds.
Well is this possible ?
I'm sure there is some concern now as i can see no build
is it being worked upon or what ??
No Gingerbread Sense Roms for Desire HD or Evo or Desire
so we have to wait for that to get Sense 2.3 in out Leos
Is there any updates? It would be perfect to get an Android 2.3.2 + Sense UI NAND ROM on HD2 (MDJs_CyanogenMod7_v.2.6_NAND_A2SD+ based, for example).
It's all in HTC's hands. They have to upgrade their current code to Gingerbread and release it to phones. Once we have that, nothing can stop us! MUAHAHAHA!... Sorry, got carried away.
Is this something someone here can port for the HD2??

I would love a sense gingerbread rom, simply because I love the sense clocks and phone dialer
And Sense has better integration with MS Exchange...

It will be great. I can not make without sense , and that is what is stops me to insstall something different.
Count me in!
Sense with gingerbread would be great
I think we have just to wait that HTC releases a Gingerbread update for the Desire HD or the Desire Z. With all the work already done by the devs here for porting these devices to the HD2, it shouldn't take a long time to have a Gingerbread + Sense on our beloved HD2.
Rumors says that a Desire 2 has Gingerbread w/sense..

the desire s and the incredible s both have sense with gingerbread so may porting their rom would help
I think the devs have to wait for HTC to release the sdk for it too.
i want this happened too..
if i am correct a couple of days there was a gingerbread Rom on android.h2roms.com which supports sense. Unfortunately there is non avi at this moment. Can any1 confirm this? Or was this just a mistake which was corrected now?
As far as I now, there are no Gingerbread builds with real HTC Sense.
Most are fakes, because they are just including some third party widgets for the clock and the weather. They should not be allowed to put the word Sense in the title of their build.
Gingerbread w/Sense
All who are interested. Check out this thread. I haven't used it yet (still downloading) but looks very promising.

Cheers
do you know any nand build of that rom? please post it, thanks!
Would certainly be interested in this. Good luck to anyone looking into it!
It would be nice to have a Gingerbread Sense build, not a "Sense-themed" one.
i simply like sense because you can manually link your contacts to fb. I like having my contact info with pictures =)
Try Sense of Eclipse. Very good Desire HD build with Sense 2.1 and a lot of Sense 3.0 stuff.
Okay, I can't believe I actually have to ask this question. I've read comments all over the web from people who got the new Gingerbread OTA update for their Nexus One's Feb 28th, but I haven't seen any actual screenshots of the UI (just of the About Phone page).
Engadget says the update comes from Google, which to me means AOSP. If I had instead heard it came from HTC, I would then assume it was Sense. With no new ROMs (as of the writing of this post) based on the new build, I have no other information recourse.
Can someone please just tell me if this new OTA update has Sense installed or not?
The Nexus one is (i think!) built by HTC though it has no HTC branding. It has Standard Android OS - No Sense!
Hope this helps!
the nexus doesnt use sense, only htc phones use sense

Thank you for your input, but the Nexus One was built by HTC.
No more like HTC branded phones only use sense e.g. HTC Desire, HTC HD2/LEO, HTC Desire HD (You don't see a HTC Nexus one on it's name do you?). The nexus one is a google branded phone, hence the name Google Nexus One. So it will never receive sense in any of its updates.
Let me post this link to put the flaming down to a minimum here:
http://www.htc.com/www/product/nexusone/specification.html
No where does it say that there will never be sense on the device.

Greetings to all! The other day there was news! In the network be leaked the new OFFICIAL ROM for the HTC Desire S based on Android 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 3.0. Accordingly, HTC Sense 3.0 does not need to optimize and change resolution... Are there any advantages in this for our wonderful HTC HD2?
Link to threat Desire S is HERE
BUMP!!
Well what caught my eye is on post 18 he says it comes with the newest stock kernal. This might be the kernal we need to get sense 3.0 running without all the glitches. Hopefully a developer will see this or someone more knowledgable then me and comment on it. Im just a lonely soul that likes to mod my phone so i have no direct knowledge of what we will be able to get from this exactly. I do know our device can run Desire s builds so I'm atleast thinking their could be a port down the road. Would be great if there was. I'll have to go back and read a lot more in detail about it first because i made this comment without reading all of it first, i was to excited.
We need the sourcecode of the kernel not the kernel itself. And we need it from the original desire and not the desire s. The desire s has different hardware.
Oh bummer
