Hi All. Ran a virus scan on my computer last night and it came up with this. Anyone else getting it? is it a virus?
I grabbed the one click zip from the Developer forum. Did not add or change anything other than unzipping.

Well...before this gets too techy.
We root our phones with a "virus" or an Exploit. It's how we obtain root. Not surprising to see it come up.
But it would only hurt a linux box that happens to be compiled for ARM....and has ADB(where the security hole is)....so pretty much only Android phones...
Found this last night as well. Funny thing is that MSE never reported it before. I do wonder though if some of the rough experiences I've had trying to root etc. are due to my AV and firewall programs interfering - but they seldom speak up while I'm trying so I'm not sure. When I do anything phone-related again though I'll be disabling them.
Its because of the DroidDream malware. Since they use the same exploit, its now automatically assumed bad.
No need to remove it, it cant hurt any x86/Windows systems at all

I needed to install some stuff after I flashed my rom, so I quickly wrote up this tool.
You can throw whatever APK files into it, and connect your phone with debugging enabled, hit install and It'll install all the applications in the list.
Currently, this is just a prototype, but it will eventually get better, and I will add more features. For now, It should work for just a simple batch install.
If you have any problems, just shoot me a PM. Otherwise, I think this should be dead simple to use. If you have any suggestions for what I could add, Post it here.
Oh, and, If you wouldn't mind, Shooting me some donations will ensure you'll get more of this stuff!

Hi all,
This will be one of my first contributions to (XDA).
I'd like to start of by adding a little - probably already known fact about my S5.
After I rooted it using using (ODIN v3.09) and the SMG file I had noticed after quickly browsing through
everything that when I decided to try a normal (default) update I had no success.
I have attached a screen shot of the prompt a had received.

A work around to this issue was found by accident when I tried a previous program called "SnapPea".
http://www.snappea.com/
I was using SnapPea as an alternative to Kies etc. It's free and I have had no issue thus far.
It worked well with my old S2 and is working just as well with my S5.
NOTE: you may find a "ADB Debugging Deamon" conflict if you are running any other clients in relation to Mobile Phone editing
but these can be ignored without major concern as I have found due to running MOBILedit.
For the basic Mobile editing i.e. contacts, pictures, install and uninstall and of course the option of updating your s5 G990i!
I would highly recommend it.
Regards

In light of the emerging Vault 7 dumps, I have begun to wonder if any of the CIA's leaked Android tools could be used to gain or exploit root access/ allow a custom boot loader to be installed on the AT&T G5. If anyone with programming know-how would look into this I'm sure many of us would be interested in any possibilities that might emerge from this avenue.

I will grab a look.. maybe I could end up with some info .
BTW - anyone tried requesting AT&T to release the flashabe version for LG G5?

Yes, I have been asking them for months. I just reminded them we're still waiting last week.
So far, AT&T's employees have been less than accommodating on this front. Some of them have given deceptive answers/ or appear to be unknowledgeable as to the nature of flashing a device.
Phone suddenly ended up like this.

Doesn't matter if you go to recovery or download mode, it can't display anything else other than that. Is it a hardware problem? If so, what could be the cause?

I think I have the same problem as you, but I can go into download mode and recovery. Another problem also is that my phone also randomly becomes frozen with similar scrambled pixels that while in the middle of a task (i.e. browsing the web, social media, etc.) I would like to ask you, how long have you had this phone for and have you rooted it? Because this problem occurred a few weeks after I rooted it. It could be either rooting it (which triggers KNOX, which is a fuse or something which blows, so it cannot be undone) or a battery issue since my phone is approaching 3 years. It is in light of recent events concerning Apple and with slowing down their phones to prevent things like this. However, I am purely speculating but yeah. As of now, I am not aware of any fix and am pretty sure this is a hardware issue since I have flashed many custom ROMs with no success. (Sorry this is a long read. )
It's definately a hardware issue.
and i think its a rootkit but i cant find anything about it

The member that replied to your post that you are quoting actually had hidden a spam link in response -- hence it not being applicable, relating, or helpful.
I've had the same issues that you are having, but can you not simply uninstall that ThreatTrack Security Firewall from the Program and Features? Removing it should remove its hold on your firewall settings and whatever influence in your system -- but if it is truly a rogue nefarious program, you should search for any registry keys or leftover files in your system; maybe even run a malware & virus scan...
Yeah I figured it out last night what was doing it lol I feel stupid
