Unable to Update after (Rooting) SM G900i - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
This will be one of my first contributions to (XDA).
I'd like to start of by adding a little - probably already known fact about my S5.
After I rooted it using using (ODIN v3.09) and the SMG file I had noticed after quickly browsing through
everything that when I decided to try a normal (default) update I had no success.
I have attached a screen shot of the prompt a had received.

A work around to this issue was found by accident when I tried a previous program called "SnapPea".
http://www.snappea.com/
I was using SnapPea as an alternative to Kies etc. It's free and I have had no issue thus far.
It worked well with my old S2 and is working just as well with my S5.
NOTE: you may find a "ADB Debugging Deamon" conflict if you are running any other clients in relation to Mobile Phone editing
but these can be ignored without major concern as I have found due to running MOBILedit.
For the basic Mobile editing i.e. contacts, pictures, install and uninstall and of course the option of updating your s5 G990i!
I would highly recommend it.

[UTILITY]ApkManager (apkm) rework of AndroidSuite2012

Apkm (Apkmanager)
As a lot of features in AndroidSuite2012 were not used by the actual user I decided to release a single tool dedicated for decompiling apk's.
It has the same simple to use GUI as AndroidSuite but with less confusing buttons and a much lighter package.
The check box options are not yet implemented this is a alpha I was working on and decided to pull it from my dropbox and release.
Enjoy! Download below
PS Apktool might need replacing. Tomorrow I will update with the same method for decompiling used in AS2012.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This is normally caused if theres a space in the name of the folder. Make sure its not in a folder with a space in the name. Although I've never seen it say \ANDROID. Could you screen shot the program? And remember you need jre installed

S Health help need

hello, first srz 4 bad Englisch guys.
I've debloated my Rom (Alliance rom 5.0.1). Now my Shealth has no. blood Pressr/Spo2... (only zhe UV is avaible) options only the data options but nothing to use with Sensor. (actually shealth4. 7+shealth service2.x installed)
Anyone knows which app is for the Spo2/blood pressure that i can use it over the Sensor? I've think. i've deleted :/ ( i wont setup my rom again because of shealth......)
Best app will be to use S Health, as far as I know. You're using a Samsung dedicated hardware sensor for it, why not use the software too?
Attached is the bloody oxygen option. Some debloated ROMs provide the S Health app and its all options as a flashable zip, see if you can find one.

Not clear whether "trying" means you succeeded or failed. Given that ambiguity there is always this:
Flash a pure stock (Samsung factory) ROM using Odin and start from the beginning. You have nothing to lose as your phone was "hard reset"
Thanks for your concern but where can I download it easily cos I try downloading it from sammobile but no way

You might have to buy a membership there (sammobile) - I recently tried downloading with my freebie account and it didn't work. (It is possible that was due to my browser type or ad-blocker issue though. I was using both an off-beat linux browser and multiple ad blockers. Someone recently suggested that might be the trouble. I didn't investigate further.)
Do you know the android version and the firmware version?

Keyboard Glitch/Broken after Rooting/Flashfyre

Hi guys,
I have a fresh S7 SM-G930V(Android 6.0.1). Which i logged in via google and it downloaded all my previous apps on my old phone(i assume it automatically does)
I was following https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039.
And now my keyboard is now starting to look weird

}
I completed all the steps and rooted to the following image "Samsung_G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR (any Samsung Galaxy S7) (MD5 hash 948A01ECCF280828DFD13AC366F6FE85)"
and used Odin3_v3.12_PrinceComsy.zip as opposed to the other odin.
Any ideas besides using another keyboard app?
EDIT: Just flashed back to G930VVRU4API3, which i thought was my stock rom but has a purpleish first time start up which i thought should be blueish?
Going to try and re-flash a root after work again.
UPDATE2: I Follow the rooting/xposed steps again and now i got my normal keyboard back. The difference is that the verizon startup is white/red while when i first ever used the phone it was a blueish/purple verizon start up. But i feel that it was definitely 6.0.1 with PI3.
Accessing the phone via cable seems extremely slow but thats for another thread...
I am now rooted with a working keyboard, now time to work on the other issues....

Old SoundAlive equalizer on S10

Hi,
Do anyone have an idea how to force S10 to install old SoundAlive (SoundAlive_54) app (for example from Note9) to non-rooted/locked S10e/S10/S10+?
I've tried to do some research and I succesfully installed SoundAlive_54 after deleting SoundAlive_55 from unlocked S10.
Whole operation was only deleting /system/priv-app/SoundAlive_55/ with SoundAlive_55.apk and creating /system/priv-app/SoundAlive_54/ with SoundAlive_54.apk.
There was no need to change anything - SoundAlive_54 replaced SoundAlive_55 in all places and all old elements and effects works.

Overall information:
Note9 with Android Pie has:
Package [com.sec.android.app.soundalive] (e6ae721):
userId=10088
pkg=Package{a76a746 com.sec.android.app.soundalive}
codePath=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_54
resourcePath=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_54
legacyNativeLibraryDir=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_54/lib
versionCode=913100100 minSdk=24 targetSdk=24
versionName=9.1.31
S10 with Android Pie has:
Package [com.sec.android.app.soundalive] (7ce778c):
userId=10096
pkg=Package{d9dbed5 com.sec.android.app.soundalive}
codePath=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_55
resourcePath=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_55
legacyNativeLibraryDir=/system/priv-app/SoundAlive_55/lib
versionCode=908600000 minSdk=28 targetSdk=28
versionName=9.0.86
I'm wondering is there is a way to bypass some of those data and push SoundAlive_54 as update for SoundAlive_55.

Can you show us how did you bring this feature back on YouTube or somewhere? I really need that feature so much when I'm listening to music.
