I've recently installed darkstone's superram froyo (darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5 [kernel: Hastarin custom]) on my HD2 and followed the instructions to the letter (at least I think I did), but I'm having some issues with it. First off, I would always get a SOD when I put the phone on standby (while on Android) but I fixed this by turning off the automatic backlight in WinMo. This fixed the problem for a while, but now it's happening again, only this time it happens occasionally, not every time. Also, while Android was up, I put my phone on standby and put it in my pocket. After a couple hours, I took it out and tried to turn it back on, but nothing worked. I assumed that it had drained itself and turned completely off like it had before, but even holding the red power button didn't turn it on. I ended up pulling the battery. Has anybody else had this problem and know the solution?
EDIT: It turns out that I only get a SOD when I leave it on standby for a while. When I have it on standby for a few minutes, I can turn it back on, but if I leave it for an hour or so it dies on me.
change the radio to 2.15.50.14 first.
Maybe you cloud try americandroid too. it's a bit fresher than the superram build
Change the rom maybe
How do you change the radio?

Having really massive battery drain with ALL recent builds (±8% per hour in Standby), i found out, that it seems to be related to the hardkey lights. In former builds i just ignored the installation instructions and everything was fine (1% per hour in Standby). But since i followed the instructions carefully my battery started to drain like hell ...
Now, this is what i figured out:
- running clearcad and haret with hardkey lights ON results in really heavy battery drain
- running clearcad and haret with hardkey lights OFF results in WinMo like battery life
Anyone with similar issues who can confirm this, or maybe has a solution as well?
Cheers

Got question? feel free to start a new thread over at HD2 Android General Discussion!
IDK I thought the other way around ???
I thought it was the opposite as well. I read in threads where people were saying to press the back key so that the keys light up when Haret is loading, and that would help with battery life.

hi
could you tell me how to turn off the hard key lights

I too have the same idea as the thread owner, if i change to Andriod with the Hardkay lights on, it will remain on in the Andriod mode and will drain my batt like hell!!!
how to make the Hardkey button off/on?

??? In WinMo start explorer, navigate to your android folder and start clearcad + haret when lights turned off?
The light is turned on by keypress and the effect wears off, after about 15 seconds, when no key is pressed ... starting android only requires tapping display, and not pressing any key
Maybe this will help
Light File
This solution sovled my problems in earlier builds.
But now I'm using mattc 1.8 and hastarin 7.1.
Hastarin adds such a light file to his kernel. Try this out.
My current battery usage in standy is about 2-7mA (use currenwidget)
And this even if GPS and data is enabled.

Thx for the info, with the latest energy rom, there is a android lancher app with it. So i will wait for 15sec then start android

I have noticed that sometimes battery life differs a lot.........
Will test this over the next few days........... just out of curiousity lol
Damn, CurrentWidget shows 70mA.
I tried registry tweaks in WinMo and it did not help whatsoever. Actually my drainage went up about 40% higher (!?!) ...
I have just last night applied this thing "keypad lights ON when starting Haret" and so far I cannot say it helped as I had no much time to test it - but I have some weird feeling this one is kind of helping a little bit. Will report more on this...
Hello,
I installed Android on my HD2 few weeks ago and everything works OK. I was able to reach 7ma consumption when idle (background data off, WiFi off, BT off), but the first incoming phone call makes it jump to around 90ma. The only way I found to solve it is to reboot to winmo, fully recharge the phone (until LED goes green), restart Android and disconnect from the charger. This forces 7ma again - until next incoming call. Any ideas?
(ROM 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE, Radio 2.12.50.02_2)
TIA
Try updating to a later Radio and the latest stock winmo ROM
I've tried only 2.3.4 NAND CM builds. both MAGLDR and cLK. my HD2 sometimes stuts down (doesn't reboot, just shuts off) while browsing or using skype. well, when it is loaded. changing CPU settings doesn't help. this happens only when running on battery, if I have charger connected phone never turns off.
i kinda had same issue
hi i sometimes would have the same issue till i discovered i unlocked screen in my pocket sometimes but besides that idk try a different rom i just use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 and i love it no problems
I urge everyone to just do this simple test and report back you may have this issue and not even know it.
Hey everyone at xda, currently i have come across an issue that some of you may have without even knowing it. I realized when i was using tweakr I pulled my battery, but when i put it in i never pressed any buttons, the phone was off battery back in no buttons press and it turned itself on
I wish to get a tally up how many people are afflicted by this problem. It has not yet affected me performance wise, but i am concerned with long term affects as well as the possibility to turn it off when the situation calls for it.
TESTING
1) Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged (obvious but I am mentioning to be through)
2)Ensure you are not connected to your charger (my phone operates normally when connected and does not automatically boot)
3a) Power off the phone by the power button
b)or pulling the battery. Wait 10 seconds before placing the battery back in if you pulled it.
4)Wait it may take a few seconds but we may want to try for 1 minute to be sure it is not there
5) Report results in the poll and comment
I would think it would be a good idea to post your phones information if you are having the issue.
Such as rom, kernel, radio (ril matched or not) , desire Z or g2, and hboot(if known).
Other information is welcome to.
I have been going through several radios, roms and hboots and this has never happened to me.
Desire Z
My Desire Z auto booted. I'm running CM 7.1 RC1.
Hmm interesting i noticed mine when i started using MeXDroid mod pre ghost chilli.
Did you try anything so far to try and fix the issue. I think it would be a good idea to gather all the information possible.
Also mabe we could brainstorm ideas.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Using the current MIUI release, I just noticed this a couple of days ago. When I power down using the power button, it will reboot itself in a matter of seconds. The same thing just happened with a battery pull.
Sent from R2's G2 using XDA Premium App
mine didnt auto boot

I think that this might have something to do with the battery calibration procedure. My Z did power off normally when I did the calibrating procedure about two weeks ago. Since then I haven't tried to power it off until now. I have only installed a few apps and upgraded the radio to .30 since I did the calibration.
Same issue here. DZ.rooted with g2 hboot. Latest bell radio. Cm7 nightly 136.

Happens to me regardless of which ROM I use (Tried CM7 Nightlies, and Vision Sense 2.3.3)
Radio 26.10.04.03_M
Eng HBoot 0.84.2000
Obviously Canadian Desire Z
GREAT NEWS!
as posted by edkeys in cm7 nightly thread, drain your battery to 0% and let the device turn itself off completly dead, plug into charger and let it charge ~4 hours or until your light turns green. unplug charger, phone will boot, load up your rom, power down, AND IT STAYS OFF!
^lol i was trying that one to but for some reason it did not work for me... i may have made a mistake somewhere through and unplugged when it wasn't 100%yet (light was green though)
I am trying again later and it it works ill quote you in the first post =D
My phone started powering off normally again after upgrading to the latest nightly. Didn't even need to do that battery drain procedure.
what was changed in the nightly? i flashed a sense rom, miui, and new hboot and radios without it being fixed. i did the battery drain trick and that worked. so im curious as to what cyan changed in one nightly...
I did the battery drain with the latest MIUI and it was a no go. I may try again though.
I don't think that the problem is ROM related. I didn't have the problem initially with CM 7.1 RC1 but after I made the battery calibration procedure for the first time the problem started. Then I upgraded to the latest nightly (138) and the problem was gone.

After the phone shut down, when you plugged in the charger did it automatically reboot because mine does -.-
so ya.... still rebooting after charged to 100% from 0% and unplugged from charger
I drained the battery to nothing, plugged in to charge, and after less than 5 minutes, turned the phone on, to charge to 100% (I needed the phone on for the alarm clock). This seems to have fixed my no-shutdown issue. That was on nightly 132. I am now on 137, and so far, so good.
While on the subject, is there an app that specifically uses up the battery to drain faster? ie, turns on absolutely everything, and really drains it fast? Might be handy for battery calibrations.
Hi all,
I am running mango 7720 (v2) - radio is still 5.69 for 2 weeks now.
Have installed both radios 2.15 and 2.12 without any luck in regards to the camera trick. it worked upon a fresh format (-5ma), few apps later i am at -74ma. Battery lasts 9hrs 3g on, barely any use!!! dropped over 90% overnight.
I am aware that 5.51T/5.51 radio fixes this problem but i am waiting until XBmod releases the radio package without the need to format the phone.
I am running radio 2.12 for a few days now with horrendous battery life, until i came across something random.
Now, my drain is at -4/5ma and it lasts well over a day with 3g on. This is what i did (tested for 2days and loving it!):
Connect to wifi, turn off phone, turn phone on, do camera trick, turn wifi off, turn airplane mode on, then off and there you go!
Have tried doing the trick with/without reboots/wifi/airplane mode touched, - all failed!!! How weird, yes?
Hope this helps others....
Update 1 (14/9): Upon further testing (with just 3g on), i have been able to simplify the trick. Turn off your phone, turn it back on, put airplane mode on, then off, DONE! (no wifi, or camera trick needed!!).
How i test drain: I open HTC battery tool and put the phone in standby (ensuring i have reasonable 3g reception, as poor reception is an absolute battery killer on its own!!!). I put the phone back on after 3-4 minutes and i observe battery drain.
Readings: Upon restart -80ma, airplane mode on -8ma, airplane mode off (3G on) -8ma!
Geez, i love HTC, Mango and the people on xda that made this combination possible!!
Update 2 (25/9): For the last week, i went back to radio rom 2.15 (better reception for me) and now my battery is normal (-8ma) WITHOUT doing a thing..no battery trick, airplane mode, nothing. I do not think it is due to rom 2.15, as it started doing this while i was on 2.12. I have also installed another dozen apps or so. Seems as though mango just needed time or something, as ridiculous as that sounds. I have soft reset my phone a number of times and went straight to the battery tool, with 3g on, and battery loss is fantastic.
Go figure...
it's working only with 2.12 + 5.15t radios or with any? I have 2.15 + 5.15t and i can't see a difference in my battery life. Still huge drain.

I have 2.12 and 5.69, has been working a treat now for a number of days, with a number of soft resets. I guess to answer your question, it will depend on others testing my 'fix', since i cant.
Huge drain seems only to be a problem with 5.69. How huge is your drain on 5.51T? What is your battery current at? What do you have on (3g, wifi, etc.)?
Battery test
Battery current after standby -12ma
5.15T software radio
WI-Fi on, BT off
with camera fix
I am happy with that, except my battery always has been a bit duff.
Edit; Well done for finding fix though! Will test after Radio.cabs arrive
