Battle of the roms! - HTC Aria General

Which rom is the best?
I like cyanogen, but very much so love my Htc Radio(limited data plan so.....), which one do you use and why?...
(currently cm7)
Also, on cm7 sometimes my bars are green, sometimes white, what does that mean? (any where I can get more specific info on gingerbread?)

they are white when the connection is not ready yet.

There is no one ROM that fits everyone.
There are advantages (and disadvantages) to each.
My opinions, below...
CM7
Advantages:
Latest Android version (2.3.3)
Closer to a generic Android build
Customizable overclocking built in
Very configurable - many options
Built-in features like power bar, line-item clear for alerts, etc.)
Perceived to be faster than 2.2
Better built-in app information and system information support (But I think this is more OS than a specific ROM).
Disadvantages:
No Sense UI - so you won't have an "HTC" experience"
No FM Radio
No Sense Widgets (e.g., FriendStream, Agenda)
Wonky WiFi (sometimes won't reconnect, can't see hidden networks, etc.)
Liberated FR008
Advantages:
Sense experience
FM Radio
HTC Sense Widgets without need for 3rd party apps
Pretty solid WiFi
Can be overclocked (but with 3rd party app)
Disadvantages:
WiFi sometimes wonky, but not nearly as bad as CM7
Not the latest Android release (only 2.2)
Not nearly as customizable as CM7
In the end, for me the choice has come down to whether or not I like Sense, which I do. I also like the FM radio and sorta solid WiFi. I find Sense and FR008 speedy enough for my uses.
For others, maybe not...
Again, just my two cents...
.

I believe the color coding on the signal strength meter / wifi strength meter indicates connection (color based on theme) to google servers or lack of said connection (white).
I am using CM7 (currently nightly 11) due to the increased customization options. I tend to like to tinker with stuff, and this gives me the most options. I'm not particularly a fan of HTC sense, so I don't really miss it. Last time I swapped back to a sense rom, I ended up putting an aftermarket launcher on it to get the homescreen customizations I wanted, so I didn't have the one or 2 sense widgets I liked anyway. After that, I decided CM was the way to go, and have been on 7 since the early nightlies, with the exception of a couple weeks ago for a few days. Also, CM7 has a handy feature called phone goggles, which, had I had the foresight to use it last weekend, might have saved me from having to explain a couple of embarassing texts, sent during a state of significant inebriation, to my wife

Some differences in addition to the ones that DanGeorges listed:
CM7 (as well as CM6):
-Contacts display more information that are stored in Google account contacts (i.e. CM's contacts app display the "Phonetic name" field and customized email field names that you have for your Gmail contacts, whereas HTC Sense's contacts app only displays some basic fields)
HTC Sense (Liberated FR008 or any other Sense roms):
-Has a proprietary "Flash Lite" that lets you play flash video from browsers and the Facebook app directly; while you can also play flash video on CM roms, you have to use the Skyfire browser and can be a hassle sometimes.

CM and Sense email clients are quite different - - - one of the items that keeps pulling me back to Sense.

I thought FR008 was great, but for me it had the same serious fault as all the other previous Android ROMs, no voice dialing over bluetooth.
Since I ride a motorcycle as my primary transportation both for business & pleasure, a bluetooth helmet with voice dial is a must have. That makes CM7 an easy winner for me.

Yes -
CM7's has the advantage of a unified inbox. But no pinch-to-zoom
Sense has pinch to zoom.
My solution:
install the CM7 email client into Sense and I have both running.

Are you sure it's Voice Dialing over Bluetooth? Froyo had voice dialing, but not over bluetooth.

CyanogenMod 7 hands down.

Definitely, used it a bunch yesterday while I was bottle feeding my son (both hands occupied, phone on table, could only get a finger free to hit button on bluetooth headset)
Worked better than anticipated!

Look for a new truly "liberated" version later tonight or tomorrow. It'll have bloatware removed, apn.xml for wifi/usb tethering (without AT$T's surcharge), native sideloading, OC kernel and more. One thing I'm trying my damnedest at right now is disabling that horrible AT$T drop-down over the taskbar.

What exactly is phone goggles?

Similar to google's email goggles, when enabled it requires you to do simple tasks (math problems, etc.) Before allowing you to call/text.

What are the advantages to this version over Liberated FR008?
And what does the at&t overlay look like? I'm curious...

if you are intoxicated, it has a reasonable chance of stopping you from calling/texting someone you shouldn't (like an ex) by:
1) making it difficult for a drunk person to actually accomplish the task and
2) hopefully making you think twice about what you are doing

Cyanogenmod...because its the rom of the gods.
(And as far as the radio, give it time. I've been running cm since Aug of last year and at this point I have completely forgotten about the fm radio until it gets brought up on here. I loved it for the two weeks I had it, but I quickly got over it by just getting a bigger sd card and putting a few gigs of music on my phone)

+1 I played with CM6 for a bit yesterday. I do like Sense better but CM6 is more customizable and you can OC it. I do wish Liberated had a kernel that's compatible with setcpu. I also hope attn1 can find the solution for trackpad wake. Other than that, I'm happy with Liberated =)
Is the sense rom acting slow for anyone? Its really laggy on my aria...
And how far does cm6 oc to?

when the official update comes out, we will have an updated kernel to work with. And eventually HTC will release the sources - and hopefully someone will build a solid OC kernel.
I'm sticking with FRXXX for a while. I am settled on using Sense, though I do believe battery consumption is higher with Froyo. No solid proof, just a perception. Maybe it is because I am spending so much time in my phone. Not on my phone...IN my phone. After a failed CM flash, I had to redo all of my home screens and redo all of my settings. That was enough to make me not want to change again.
i had the 806 overclock kernel posted elsewhere on this site running with liberated fr. didn't really see any speed difference. phone is plenty speedy with fr06. did have some issues with browser crashing so switched back to default fr06 kernel.
I'm running CM6.1 overclocked to 806, there are a few things that I have noticed as far as speed improvement goes. No lag between screens, 3D app drawer is insanely fast, app launching is a bit faster, that's all I have seen so far. I loved Sense when I first got the phone, but now using a more Vanilla like layout, I don't think I would go back to it.

Thats one of the things though, I don't know if I will feel comfortable leaving sense, I loaded cm6 with 2.2 froyo and it was nice and all, but the fb syncronization and weather and all that left me feeling empty
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
I didnt think i could live without sense when i first got my aria so i put off flashing cm6 for a while and ran the liberated roms for a while. But i finally gave in to see what all the fuss was about with CM6. I was missing sense for a little while until i started to discover everything i could do with the cm6 rom. Once I started digging into the customization and discovering all that the cm6 rom has to offer I started to realize that I would never want to go back to sense. Admittedly it took a while to get used to the look and feel of cm6 and not having sense but now I dont miss it what so ever. And when I did flash one of the latest liberated roms a couple weeks ago just see how it was coming along I immediately missed cm6 and flashed back. And the newest update to 6.1 is the best this rom has ever been.
And there are alternatives to the sense weather widgets available for cm6, and as far as fb goes, i have fb synced on cm6. Definitely no problems there.

interresting - i'm running liberated FR006 and happy with it. From what i've seen of standard froyo and CM6, a main thing i dont like is the contacts manager/people app. i like how the Sense UI integrates the "groups" from your gmail contacts. I may flash CM6 and try it for a few days., but i am very happy with liberated.

When i first log into the fb app it asks me if i want to sync. From that point on fb shows up in Menu>Accounts & Sync, where I can then turn on/off sync for fb (and google as well).
I've been running the CM6.0.1-RC1-Liberty for several days now. I really like it a lot! Especially the built in music player, the power control widget is brilliant!, and virtually everything internal to the phone is customizable in the settings. However, apps keep restarting by themselves, even after running the set permissions feature that automatically re-configures every app on the phone. Also, the SIM tool box is missing, so I can't access any of my contacts. Any contacts that are installed automatically sync to g-mail. I keep my contacts on the SIM specifically to protect the privacy of my contacts! I am sure they don't want their information synced to g-mail servers. While there may be a feature in the myriad of settings options to keep this from happening, I couldn't find it.
Today, I am going to flash to the Liberated Froyo with sense. Depending on what I get in terms of default apps, and most importantly, speed, I may add the Overclocking kernal as well. By Sunday, I should be able to make a decision as to which one I plan on keeping permanently. (I will move the contacts from the SIM to the phone this time, in case I want to go back to CM6!)
I will post my opinions as to which one of the two ROMs I like the best on Sunday after comparing.

$ 240 Bounty won: Mother of all Z/HD/MT4g port Roms - please keep donating to winner

** UPDATE - Gmichaelow delivered us the first franken-z-rom. He met all the term of the bounty requirements so I paid up. Others who are getting a rom worth bragging about might want to add to G's college fund as well **
There are 5 Desire Z based inc roms now and I have installed and tinkered around on all of them:
ID's original Incdoes Desire Z
G's Uber Z
Wes342's Super Z
Nils' Business Z
Carbonite's Z
There are also 2 Rom ports (Wes342's MT4g, Incdoes HD 9.1) which are similar to the Z roms in terms of being new sense based with new features, apps, widgets, functionality, speed enhancements etc etc., but with some gotta have features (the MT4g Rom, for example, has the only working LED notifications in the new sense rom ports and the only rom that has true phone profiles [my modes] - not just airplane/silent/vibrate/ring).
While devs are taking each of the Z Roms in their own direction, it is my personal belief that:
1. a Rom is mainly only as good as its features and
2. the rom that will attract the most followers will have the best features of the Z, HD & MT4g rom ports plus various other tweaks all in 1 Rom.
Some people might call some of the apps/widgets bloatware - for me its a question of choice - I would like to be able to have the ability to choose to get the t mobile media room if I want it, remap the right button to myfaves if I like that, rotate the rosie 90 degrees, add the htc translator widget to a home screen and so on.
The "Mother of All new sense Roms" (to quote saddam) would have the following working:
1. Full EMMC mounting
2. 720p cam a lot more difficult it seems than i hoped
3. Rotating rosie
4. Right button remap at the very least, hopefully all 3 remappable.
5. All of the unique apps/widgets from the HD rom
Linkedin sync
Picasa sync
HTC translator widget
HTC e reader widget and app
HTC google reader sync widget and app
HTC locations app and widget
6. Most of the unique apps/widgets from the MT4g rom:
My modes
Working LED notifications
Media room
Yahoo sync
7. Power control Toggles in the Notifications pull down menu
8. 5 column app drawer
9. Working multipoint touch (I know its kernel and recovery dependent) but I would like it embedded in the Rom
Any other requests?
Since i am not a dev, the best thing I can do to get all of the best of all of these roms in 1 is to start a bounty. As many of the devs here will know, I donate and am not a freeloader. I would like to get the bounty as high as possible to motivate the devs into dropping everything else and giving us something that beats the crap out of the Incredible HD's features even before it is released. Why? The answer is "just because"!
I will contribute $ 200 personally. Others who want a bragging rights do-it-all rom, please feel free to add your name to the list. I will keep a running tally. Even if each of you donate 20 each, we will probably get to 5000 fairly easily - would be nice pocket money for any dev.

Gah, just read this. This is difficult to do I think. The 720p fix alone isn't done on any Z port anywhere.
It also seems like many aren't adding to the bounty because it's not like a TV-OUT fix.
It's more of a ROM request. I would take it up, except that 720p fix...

no need to chip in right away. just be good for the money when we have proof that the dev (managed to get both gmichaelow and wes342+shikouhi teams interested) gives us the rom with the features above. at that time I will PM all the bounty contributors to send the money directly to the dev and so will I. MT4G stuff isn't portable, it's tied into the framework. The only portable thing (that works) is yahoo sync, and that's not even tested.
What this is asking for is beyond any dev. It's basically what ZeusDroid tried to do when they attempted to port Rosie and failed. The Sense apks are too tied in.
Good luck to the rest though.

Yeah, sorry xD
HTC makes it difficult to use their sense stuff, and it makes sense. They put sense on HTC phones to differentiate them. If everyone could just install Rose.apk and the widgets, HTC's sense offering isn't any different anymore.
So they tie everything into the framework and make it impossible to port xD

same here! i am hoping wes can pull that off since he already has the mt4g port going. he still needs help with the cam.
By the way i think its disturbing that so many users in the inc forums never donate to devs - heard from a dev that i was chatting with yesterday that he has seen no other donations come to him despite 270 odd downloads.
i know many users are in college but even small amounts would be nice for them to get as tokens of appreciation. the code might be open source and free but their time and effort should not be.

If all of that could be done in one ROM I would do it for free. I would love it myself.
Donations are not why we do the work it is for the fun of it.
I have only received a few donations and I have never actually put a penny of it in my own pocket. I try to give it to other devs that have helped me with significant and successful mods and fixes, etc.
If someone can rise to this I can quit making ROM's and enjoy that one.

So, this above statement is partially true. What it should've said is that SOME MT4G stuff isn't portable, because they are tied into the framework. However, there are some that can indeed be ported. And I did.
Attached is a zip, that if flashed over my Uber Sense RC-2.0.0, does indeed fulfill the requirements of this bounty.

AOSP Alpha for Fascinate

So, I see Twitter is all buzzing about the developers putting AOSP on the Fascinate and I was hoping to see some discussion about it here but surprisingly....nothing.
Actually I have to admit, I was hoping to lurk around to learn some more about what this means for us. As a new Android owner, I believe this gives us the stock android experience that devices like the N1 and NS have but I'm not entirely sure.
So I'm just coming out and asking, is this the reason why so many people are excited? To get rid of Samsung's TW layer on top of Android or does this mean something more? Secondly, does this offer us a pathway to Froyo or Gingerbread or are we still dependent on Samsung releasing their version first?
Aosp is android open source project. Yes it is vanilla android. The reason there is no discussion on here about it is that it is not totally functional yet, from last I heard, 2 days ago. If you want to see the progress of this, you can go into irc and ask about it. Aosp is usually more streamlined because there is no custom skin over it, sense, tw, blur which usually slow the phone down. It offers more customization, you can look at other aosp roms on different phones to see what kind of customization it offers. And lastly, no it does not pave the way for froyo or gingerbread. The source has to be released from Google which it has been, (I think) but samsungs source is corrupted which really hinders our devs from really doing much and makes it much more difficult. The RIL, the thing that allows us to call, text, ect also is also a problem. I hope this clarifies some things for you and I am still learning things everyday and if I have anything wrong, please feel free to correct me.

The alpha build was just "released" here today or last night. It's still buggy, but functional enough for basic use. It will make it somewhat easier to get AOSP Froyo/Gingerbread working, but it will still be difficult to get either on our phones without Samsung releasing either of them first to lay the initial groundwork for them.
Jt has made his own RIL for the aosp build, so I think this does help with froyo a bit.

Thanks guys. I had read the he was making his own RIL, which seemed like you would only do if you wanted to make yourself independent from Samsung in the future.
This is my first Android and I REALLY like it compared to my previous smartphone, the BB Storm 1. However, like the Storm, Samsung's inability to produce a timely Froyo build feels like Deja Vu all over again.
I've played with TW, Sense and Stock Android and maybe it's just me but honestly, they are all pretty similar. I know that some here will vehemently disagree but all of them just let me do what I need to do, run apps, write e-mails and make calls. Truthfully, it seems absurd for these manufacturers to even write these silly custom UI's at all but they seem to think that this provides some sort of value added differentiation.
The only 2 things that bother me about my phone, the occasional freezes where the hardware buttons are lit but don't respond and then all of a sudden all the touches that I made that didn't do anything at first, start to fire off rapidly. Secondly, not being able to upgrade to apps that are coming out that require Froyo.
Full disclosure, I would have said GPS performance but that was fixed here with DJ05 and JT's 12/12 Non-Voodoo Kernel.
Well, I think the only thing that scared me away from running the AOSP rom was the list of bugs that seemed to indicate that inbound phone calls don't always work and lack of BT. While I know I can try it out and return, I hate having to restore all those apps and data settings with Titanium, not to mention the potential for a late night in IRC in case things go south!!
I was really excited to see this and loaded it up as soon as I could. It looked great, I would have kept it on regardless of the bugs, but for some reason my home button stopped working and sms functionality was sporadic at best.
I can't wait to try it again when it is finished.
Gotta say, major props to JT, birdman and others. Only reason for me wanting froyo now that i have DJ05 is HID support, which most likely won't come until CM comes around, so i'll wait on installing this, especially since they don't need bug report yet. But its nice to see progress on the playing field, especially when its progress that the community has taken into their own hands.
Thanks for all the hard work.
^this. Cant wait until its fully stable/all features working properly. JT is truly awesome at his craft!
I'm running it right now as we speak pretty stable for me, my new daily driver

Working good for me as well.
Noticed there is no task manager as well as the backup to reload contacts. Guess it's manual input of those again....not so bad since it is the 20th time doing it. Just a nice waste of time.
Glad you posted this thread. It clears up some questions I had too. I've been in computing since 1980 and it seems like the more time passes, the more unfriendly people are about sharing tech knowledge. Android has been one of the most difficult pieces of tech for me to find solid CONCRETE answers about. You have to piece things together from hundreds of websites and hope the consensus is accurate and not a stream of cut and paste work. Especially with android purporting to be open, you'd think there'd be a lot more energy to encourage more folks to develop for it, but it almost seems exactly the opposite.

Google contact sync works fine (even fixes the duplicate contact bug that touchwiz has). I think he was referring to backup assistant (which is of course missing from this rom )

Does anyone else get an instant FC on the Facebook for Android app? I was looking forward to using the app's built-in and far-superior to TouchWiz Facebook contact sync. Thing is, it just won't open after a fresh install. The only way I can get the app to open is if I restore a TB backup of Facebook taken from DJ05... which automatically keeps the built-in contact sync disabled.
bwheelies, as far as contacts go, it its probably worth your effort to put them into your google contacts now that you are entering them anyway... Just click Contacts in gmail (on your computer)and go to town, you will thank me later. Well, maybe not, but it its a handy time saver for synching contacts in the future
Swyped w/ XDA App. When in doubt, mumble.

Which ROM provides the best battery life?

I just got a DHD and have rooted and installed Android Revolution, but I am wondering which ROM has the best battery life?
A typical day for me would include:
Short call (not often)
Heavy texting
Occasional mobile data sessions (short periods of time)
Occasional Wifi
bluetooth off, wifi off unless needed, mobile data off unless needed, screen brightness about 20%, screen timeout 15 seconds
With The latest HTC update i'vê made about 20h on heavy use (lots of 3G and wifi, email, texting, twitting, browsing)
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
I have to say, since moving to GB and LeeDroid 3.0.2 it's much better for battery than it ever was on 1.3x firmware. Getting a lot less drain, though that could conceivably be due to the fact I have less applications installed now.
I'd recommend trying any GB ROM, you should see a positive difference.

+1 for LeeDroids ROM if you like Sense. I found it gave instantly noticeable battery improvements but what ever ROM you use it's important to try different radio's (and matching RIL files) as these can have the biggest effect (For more info about radio and RILs please check the development forum as all your questions will have already been answered).
Using a Kernel that allows both underclocking and under-voltage will help too when used with SetCPU profiles (again, just browse the dev forum).
Hi there,
I have not tried any LeeDroid ROM's as yet but am currently using CoreDroid 2.3.3 V6.0 and the battery life is really good, plus it's got some Sense 3.0 features which are a cool addition. RCMix ROM's are very very nice also.
As Mr_JMM mentioned the right radio and RIL makes a huge difference to the battery life. It's a case of trying a few ROM's out and seeing what works best for you.
Android Rev 3.5-
Heavy use I get 18 hours use (by that I mean till 20%, where I charge it)
Running Overclock kernerl to 1.6ghzz
Wifi & 3G on all day (this is remarkable for me because pre custom Rom I'd get 18 hours with normal usage and I've have to keep 3G and Wifi off if I wasn't using it)
I can only speak for two roms; the telco bloatware Rom, and LeeDrOID's silky smooth rom, radio and kernel combination.
The battery clearly loves the latter as much as I do.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Definitely +1 for leedroid, lee does some really good work with his custom kernal.
For me it's CM7. I usually get about 30-40hours with medium use which includes things like txting, calling, some browsing over wifi, testing out apps, email, wifi always on and maybe a game.
Though I keep my brigtness around 25% unless I'm outside in day time when I need to bump it up.
For a phone of this magnitude and a pretty small battery I find that quite fair.
I'm on stock 1.32 and I get about 10 hours under moderate use. This can shrink to 6 if I play angry birds for an hour. I have two emails which check every 30 mins; twitter updates every 10; mostly on wifi; never use bluetooth or gps; and screen set to automatic brightness.
I would absolutely love to get the numbers you guys are talking about. I'm shocked to see that you are even getting those numbers of hours while overclocking with heavy use. I now have a reason to tinker around with mods and radios. Those usage hours are in Nokia territory

Tinkering with mods and radio's involves rooting your phone (to start with) so the first thing you can then do is upgrade to Froyo or Gingerbread which straight away will improve your battery life even before you do anything else.

I'm on 1.32 because my WWE unbranded hasn't gotten any updates yet. HTC has been treating WWE unbranded users like second class citizen. Still waiting on the gingerbread update (hopefully soon), and then I will root and start exploring the mod world.
Regarding gmail. I do have a gmail account, but i'm not using the gmail application. I'm using the standard HTC mail application. It seems to me to be treating gmail as pull email because it asks me for a frequency to check. Am I correct in this assumption?
Sorry, I haven't answered your original question. The best ROM for battery will vary depending on what else you want and what radio and Kernel you use. In general a GB based ROM like LeeDroid's will be excellent if you wish to keep Sense UI.

May I ask why? Only because if ther is no real reason it would help your battery life a littel and as it is native you will get all of the advantages of gmail which are missing from the HTC mail app.

Yes but when you set the phone up you would have had to sign into a gmail account (to use Market etc.). Is that gmail account the same as either of the ones you have in the stock mail app?

Don't wait for official GB update and then try to mod as you will have to downgrade to root and the rest. You are on 1.32 which is perfect to get you started.
Another thing is if you upgrade to official 2.3.3 update you will get some HTC bugs as they always leave some bugs to piss people off.

1.32 is FroYo, also I don't think DHD came with anything lower then FroYo when it was released. I personally think Sense is a battery killer and definitely a resource hog.

That was confusing the hell out of me. I didn't think there was anything less than Froyo on the DHD but then I didn't think Froyo went down to 1.32.
Thank you for clearing that up.
In that case ozaghloul it just seems odd that you never got the 1.7x.x.x update. I know only very few networks rushed out the 1.8x.x.x update but I thought everyone got the 1.7x.x.x. Well again, fingers crossed for you.
You can try Leedroid ROMs and if you dont like sense, put the nosense patch and use other launcher.
I've got leedroid 3.0.2 with MDJ V11 kernel and launcherPro and my battery life is very good

Whats Launcherpro do? I also I have Leeroid 3.0.2 but with Leeroids Kernel, wats MDJ v11 kernel and is it better?
I am currently using the RCMix Kingdom 0.1 rom with excellent results, considering it's a 1st release. Also added MDJ kernel 11 to boost it a bit - but as in ALL releases a bit of reading helps ( having a decent search facility for single thread would help tho, XDA ! )
Hi, I have only had my dhd for a couple of weeks but I've found leedroid's rom to be very good on battery. I'm currently trying out kingdom v0.1 with mdjv11 kernel.
Hope this helps.

Well after reading the community forums at sprint.com and android forums, Ive seen people getting different results/bugs such as:
-Netflix stopped working(posted on this forum)
-Other Misc applications not functioning
-Shortcut icons appearing default with no detail
-Voicemail notification continuously appearing with no voicemails
-GPS Icon appearing even when the GPS is turned off
-Text messages taking longer to send
-Calls not connecting
Im sure there is more but these are the ones that caught my eye.
So thats why I was waiting to make sure there isnt another update to fix some of these issues.
Not having Netflix after getting a taste sucks the most
I can say that my gps icon is on and it shows off on the top. Text messages show a number when there are none. Great I updated and now I cant root.
I waiting until the bugs are fixed,

Or until Synergy is finally released.
O wow, actually just replaced my evo through sprint. they sent me a brand new one, in an envelope(no accesories) thank god I have been living with a buggy refurb for almost a year.
Only problem is it is preloaded with 2.3!?!?!? the sprint rep said it was funny also 2 other customers received brand new ones, thats unheard of from sprint IMO
maybe they want to make everyone on 2.3 because so many using the wifi hotspots...idk
so I would have redone the universal root method like I did before hand, but read here first ......so no go on universal root?

It's called "gaining knowledge, keeping informed, and keeping the options open". Some people, do not necessarily wish to modify every device they use, at every single opportunity. Since discovering XDA, I have had 6 or 7 different devices, and though I have not flashed a custom ROM to each one of them, I've done a couple. Flashing or not, this entire forum has helped me in some form with each device.

I was running Mik 1.3 for a few days and upgraded to 1.4 yesterday. From the above, only two apply on this rom: The Netflix & the GPS icon. The GPS works, but in my case, it appears as off whether I have it on or off. The NetFlix problem is an issue that NetFlix is working on and not a "bug" of GB. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I read that somewhere on here when the problem first came up.
Having 2.3.3 and Sense 2.1 grealy outweight those two bugs for me. Out of all the 2.3.3 roms I've tried, this one has been my favorite by a long shot. You just have to set up the phone properly. It took me a good couple of hours to format the SD card and upgrade the ext3, transfer all the files back and forth from the SD card, restoring all my apps and reorganizing my phone, etc.
Well worth it, IMO.
The only issue I have noticed is my Exchange inbox icon sometimes shows that I have a new/unread email when I don't. Besides that, everything is working faster and smoother. The battery life improvement is by far the most dramatic change, imo. One more thing that I personally like is the message received notification toggle is now the first option under message settings...def makes shutting off the notifications faster, which is good when you need to hide new texts from the gf
