I have been running stock rooted EB13 since day one with very little issue. I'm guessing this is not an issue of the OS but I don't know. Yesterday I was trying to download an MP3 and it kept saying there was an error writing the file. I messed around for a bit, found I couldn't save anything to my card from any program, and finally decided to reset my device. I did a TiBU and reset it. When I restored my apps they were from about a week ago and not the current data. I pulled my SD card and put it in my card reader only to find out that it is write protected. And no it's not the adapter, I tried more than one and the switch never moves when I plug it in. I have tried the Panasonic format, the newer SD format program, windows format, epic format both in recovery and in the settings. No go. Any ideas? Is it this a fluke or has anyone else on EB13 had this problem?
Thanks

I am having some trouble with my 4gb card in my XV6800. I have had it since January and been happily adding things to it and deleting them at will. Now I am having a problem with it however. I can add things to it through My Computer etc on windows and it shows up fine. But after a few hours when I go back into it on File Explorer on the phone any changes I have made are not in effect.
This includes both things that I added that are not there, and things that I have deleted that re-appear. Any ideas? It is not helping my wanting to install cabs and set up my UC config as you can imagine.
I know that they are transferring at some point because I m,anaged to install a cab from there last night, this morning, the original cab and folder is gone.
I'd suggest backing up everything currently on the card first, then formatting it using a card reader. Once the format completes, restore your files and see if your problems still exist.
P.S. Any microsd card <= 2gb will work for flashing. Anything > 2gb won't.

I agree with this... backup your storage card, and format it using software on your device such as CNETX FlashFormat... that seemed to do the trick when I was having issues related to the Storage Card
I was getting the error" file protected". I did lots of research, tried to format it in both my phone and laptop to no avail. I used diffrent software, nothing gave. Some people claim that putting clear tape on the SD adapter lock did the trick for them. Anyway, I contacted SD as my last resort, got an RMA and now I am awaiting a replacement. I did a back up and transferred all to 1 GB that I had as a back up.
FYI
I used SD Formatter V2.O and Hard disk Wipe tool (hddguru.com) , Format claimed to be successful but data was always there. This started after I installed TOMTOM maps on the card. Good luck man
there is a cab to enable sd cards over 2GB for the titan
i suggest some searching, if i come across it ill post the link
I have Tom Tom on my card, but then I have done from the start and I have only had the problems pretty recently. My computer wont read the card in the built in card reader in my computer, but it reads the new 1gb one fine.
Also, the phone does recognize it because I can play music off it, I just cannot add files to it or delete from it.
I have tried to format it with CNETX FlashFormat and it doesn't seem to work, everything is still on there as before.
Very annoying, I am going to contact SanDisk
Good idea man, it sounds like you have the same prob I do. Try putting tape on the protection switch on the adapter. It didn't work for me but who knows!
i was just trying out andftp (unsure if this was the reason, but it was the last thing i did) off the marketplace and couldnt get it to stay connected. decided to end that and reboot, phone started back up saying sd card not found and the notice asks me to "format cancel"
just put the sdcard in my pc and its showing everything on the card so i'm backing it up. have been using it no problem for the past 20days so its not the format of the card or anything. once i'm done backing up i figure i'll reformat the card and see how that goes but couldnt find anything searching the forums. anyone had this problem or possibly why it started doing this after a restart of the phone?

I had this issue when I had my CLIQ. This was the beginning of my SD card dying. I hope its not what yours is doing, but just was similar to what happened to mine before it died on me all together.
i just got it roughly 20 days ago, hope its not
I've had a similar problem with my SD card. I could read the files just fine on a pc - albeit a manuell fsck found errors which could not be corrected even after several passes.
After reformating the card it now works fine again. This happend about two weeks ago.
after backup and reformat it still wouldnt read in phone, tried putting files back on also. finally booted phone up without a sdcard in, rebooted with it in and it recognized it. stock, not rooted, hopefully doesn't happen again
Th weirdest thing happening on my Vibrant with Eugene R2 rom.
When I put a microSD in the slot, it can not use it past 2.19 gb (like if it was a corrupted card), but when I use the same card in my TP2 or in the SD card reader of my laptop, everything is fine. I first noticed this when I was copying over all my files and I kept getting the same errors I have had with fake cards in the past, so I tried my old faithful 8gb and sure enough, when I plug my vibrant as a USB drive, I can not navigate most folders and runing the checkdisk gives me hundreds of corruption errors. When I try to format, it tells me the max is 2.19 gb. When I take the same card (which had always been fine) and put it in the sd card reader, everything is back to normal, including attempting to format (it gives the proper size). My vibrant is doing this with all cards I have tried up till now.
Any clues?
Thanks
Did you ever run an older ULF kernel at some point? Are you running one now?
I had similar issues with both my SD card *and* the internal SD, which was causing all sorts of random system glitchiness. In my case, I suspected that this was due to the problems in early ULF kernels that caused filesystem corruption. I ended up using Heimdall (you'd use Odin if you're on Windows) to restore an official Samsung firmware, then I reformatted both SD cards, and from then on everything was fine.
There's probably a less drastic approach to be taken, but restoring to stock from Odin/Heimdall is a pretty surefire way to get rid of all the gremlins.
Incidentally, it was at that point that I decided to stop flashing anything except official or leaked Samsung ROMs until CM gets released. The price for being an early adopter is just too high
I am not sure what ULF kernels are, but all I have had is stock, then Eugene, then I did a restore to my stock backup (that screwed thigns up) so I reflashed eugene. I don't know how to use odin\can't figure out what files i should use.

Julie, I had this same problem with both this ROM, and my proceeding one, ASOPish; as have many, many others!
I too have been wanting a fix, but have not come across one. Because I am able install data onto my micro sd card via the adapter this is what I have resigned to doing. There was a mounting fix posted last month some time, but it didn't work for me, though others state that it did for them.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more workable solution, but at least, for me, this way does work.
FYI I had this problem until nero V3
Eat at Joe's
Having micro sd issues also. I tried moving some music and pics from the internal sd. It put the names but 0 data. I erase them and they come back. I reformatted the 8gb card it said 8gb free. I go back to the gallery or music player and they are all back. Check the sd with a file manager and thete they are.

hum... anyone else with this problem fix it by using nero v3?
This is happening on all 2.2 roms.
One issue was fixed, where the internal and external cards were being read opposite to what there were ..., but the issue of reading external sd above 2gigs is still there ...
If I remember correctly, this was the issue when 2.2 was released for the N1 .... they forgot to re-add support for sdhc cards... that's why they pushed 2.2.1.......
I was playing Let's Golf 2 yesterday, and I ended it improperly by pushing the Home button. Since I rebooted from that incident, the SD card is not mounting anymore, and the system is telling me that it is damaged or its filesystem is not accepted. Since it's the very same stock card which comes with the phone and has worked properly since it came (and of course works in other phones and computers), I am quite puzzled. Any other card I mount receives the same treatment, so it's something on the phone. I have my bootloaders unlocked and I have flashed the 2.3.3 rooted version per Flashtool and Fastboot.
I guess it's time for reflashing, or do you folks have any idea I could use?
I had a similar problem. Turned out my SD card was cracked. This brings me to my problem. After loosing my SD card Crash won’t run anymore. Does anyone know how I can restore it? I really liked that game.
Edit: Never mind. I opened it again and now it gives me an option to download the game again. I need to do it over wifi when I get home.
Sometime after I installed safestrap and a second rom, I lost the ability to write or delete from my external SD card. It may have something to do with SAFESTRAP, or possibly an app called SDFix: KitKat Writable MicrosSD which I installed and may have ran in preparation for any type of KitKat update. Anyone have any ideas of what I may have done?
edit for more info : The weird thing is, it lets me go through the motions to delete a movie file with say ES File Explorer, but when I reboot, the file is still there and I am able to watch the same exact file I thought I deleted. Also, if I set my camera to write external, it seems like it works, but when I reboot, the files aren't there anymore. Luckily the few pictures I tried taking like that were uploaded to my dropbox before I reboot..... Also, if I create a new folder and paste a file into there, the folder won't be there when I reboot. Also, it seems like my titanium backup files aren't updating, they all seem to be dated February 28 and they won't update even though it goes through the entire backup process!

Have you tried taking the card out and seeing if it works properly on a computer?

That is a good idea. I'll try once my co-worker comes back from lunch so I can borrow their microsd-usb adapter. The card is an 64GB Sandisk, and the computer won't recognize it, I believe because of the way it is formatted. When I get home, I will try to connect via USB 3.0 and see if I can dump everything to my PC and go from there....

Your computer should still recognize it though.
uhh ohh, its a VDI virtual system, and it says this card needs to be formatted before windows can recognize it....
I am copying everything over to my PC over USB. I will try the card in a card reader to see what can be done. If I format it, and if it works after format, should I have confidence that the card won't crap out on me in the future¿???
I am finally able to format it using a slow format in Windows 7, lets see if it works...
Nope, still broken with all previous files in tact.
I'm having the exact same issue and I bet others are too. At first I thought it was something to do with an ESexplorer update since I never happened before it, but I've deleted ES and tried many other file managers/explorers and still have it happen. Someone has to know how to fix this.

I had the same issue with the same card. After a lot of research I found that my SD card had somehow become locked...I know...WHAT? My sd card is looked with no way to unlock it. I can view files on it but i cannot add files or delete from the card.
I emailed Sandisk asking them if they had a solution but I never heard back from them
I have tried every solution that I have found and none have worked...
I've gone through 6 San disk 64gb class 10 cards between my Note 2 and Note 3 with my last cropping out 2 weeks ago. San disk will replace your card and tell you to contact the phone manufacturer. I did that contacted Samsung...at 1st I got the run around but I was persistent and got a hold of a good tech support agent. Samsung phones have issues writing info to the 64gb class 10 cards. They are aware of the issue and are working on a fix as of 2-3months ago. He told me the will work fine. He said they don't recommend over 32gb and a class 4 card because of the stability issues of files being corrupted on class 10s particularly 64gb 1s. Funny thing is i called San Disk back and told them what i was told and asked for a 32gb lower class and he told me i could buy it buy they could only replace it with the same one i had. Good luck!

You know this is not the first time that I've heard of this. I actually had a 10s 32Gig SanDisk micro that I ended up losing because of this problem with my Galaxy S3. I got to work one day and set my phone down on the desk and it just seeming stopped working. I don't know what it is with the 10 series cards but it seems like they all have some kind of problem.
Thanks everyone for all the info. I guess I'll have to get another card and I'm going to be sure it's NOT another SanDisk.
