hey don't get too worked up... I've had mine for like 3 weeks now and... it's FREAKING AWESOME. =)
the only thing the iphone is better is battery consumption and internal storage. in all other points the hd2 pwns the iphone 3g(s) by far.
OK, i officially have the device.
First impressions:
1. Its smaller than i thought, which is good!
2. The screen is so cool.
3. The earpiece and the external speaker are OK, i don't have the problems some are stating. The external speaker doesn't have bass frequencies but its OK. The TP2's speakers are way superior.
4. SMS's are fine, they go through without a problem.
5. When i play with my TP2 i wanna go back to the HD2. My TP2 looks outdated now. I don't wanna look at it anymore. Not to mention that for the first time i feel how bulky it is
6. The typing for me its OK. It might be a little too sensitive but i can get used to it.
So far i like it a lot and i'm already convinced that it will be my main device from now on.

The name of the tablet also seems to be photoshopped onto the Xoom... It might be a scam or just a very cheap knock-off from Shenzhen. Either way, I am still waiting for my 25% Xoom

Sad part is, I was investigating this for my buddy around the time you guys were making off like bandits. He sidetracked me from my normal XDA browsing time!
I want one...I love my Xoom but this other thing has the ability to "access various types of flies, whatever the source". Take that Motorola!

Looks like a pic from a beta version of the XOOM. My opinion, you're better off spending your money on 500 fortune cookies and playing the lottery with the numbers on the back.
I can't say 100% but I think it is a scam...I mean even knock-offs don't look 100% the same as the original.

I really like the part where it says that they have 90 units in stock. Then just a couple lines lower they say "Only 95 units left"! You better buy it quickly.
Probably recognizable for most of the die hard members here. It's like waiting for someone posting a new rom, you keep bashing F5 to see if something is there yet. Now I have a similar problem. Yesterday I received a message from my provider my contract is renewed and the Arc is on his way to my house as we speak.
I checked out Track&Trace and the parcel indeed has left the transport company this morning. Now I notice I keep looking outside the window every 2 minutes I already have the feeling I am a bit behind, while this phone just hit the market a couple of weeks ago.
Well, not a very constructive post I assume, but I thought I share something useless for a change with you guys. I already saw a few familiar names from people who came of X10, but going through the topics I already noticed lots of new names.
Hopefully some good devs buy this thing as well so we can fool around a lot with this beauty.........hmmm....still no postman here

Rooting for a custom rom seems to be quite difficult...

i know exactly how u feel. i ordered 2 and had to wait for a month before i cud get my hands on em. i called sony showroom everyday and eventually when it came, they gave me a discount

Well my wife changed here mind and went to another provider where she gets an ipad2 for free with a 2 year contract for 32euro a month. Really can't understand how they can make money on these kind of offers. I spoke with kpn for a while and in the end I get my arc for free now. In exchange it will be delivered by a very slow postman

Mate, you are going to love it when it arrives. It really is a huge step up from the X10.
I played with the X10 a little this morning and it made me realize how much better the arc is. Also, X10 feels like an absolute brick in comparison.

does the arc also has the 960x854 resolution? In that case you can use the 180 wallpapers i posted in the x10 section. Or would it be wise than to copy it to the arc section as well?
480x854 screen, so those wallpapers will work.

And that screen man, its just full of awesome and lately I noticed the light sensor working very well ! Especially in direct sunlight its very readable.

I got mine today too...
I was scared to go to the toilet because it is at the far end of the house and I wouldn't hear the doorman. It didn't help that I had to wait until 3pm for him to arrive
But it was all worth it am loving the phone so far...
If you think that's bad, how about actually having the box in the house but having to prevent yourself from opening it because you have work that needs to be done? xD
I got mine with Three UK, their "All-you-can-eat data" (real unlimited data usage with no fair use policy, tethering supported and advertised) for £40/mo with nothing to pay up front.
According to their store manager it's also unbranded and not SIM locked so when SE stop supporting it I'm hopeful I'll be able to unlock the bootloader
I got a little frustrated at the process of waiting for a OnePlus after giving the first one to my honey. Saw a good number on Craigslist, and one guy very close, who had it for about 1 week, still in the box. Nice price.

Also got mine on CL. Didn't have an invite and didn't want to wait for a pre order. The guy literally didn't open the package from the mail. I paid $400. Little bit over but still way less than the htc or s5 I was considering. I love it so far. My last phone was an S2, E4gT. Glad I got the OPO.

We will see when we get there I'm pretty sure you are right though, but let's see when we get over there! Oh yeah, and as I hear the bootloader are locked as of now so whenever you see an ASUS employee ask them when will we be receiving an unlock so we can start development! Heh.
I will be there as well. I pre-ordered 2 Alcatel Idol 3's also, so it will be nice to compare the two.

So that was a fun time. Met a few AndroidCentral people, a few from XDA, and a whole lot of people who won contests to go. I honestly thought it would have ran longer, and was glad it didn't. Pretty cool grab bag as well, and I was lucky enough to snag the red version instead of the grey.
Oh nice on getting a red version! I immediately switched the stock cover out for the view cover anyway, though.
I am liking the view cover...more than I thought I would. the rock garden was a nice touch...

Color doesn't matter. Look under the phone/usb tray in the big box. They threw in a window-flip cover.

(nod) I don't use cases either. I'm not keeping the phone, though. It's really nice. I actually like the form factor better than my Nexus 6. Unfortunately, both T-Mo and AT&T are awful here in CT. I'm bouncing between 0 and 1 bar on the Zenfone and have full bars on my N6.

I overheard you say that immediately after you got yours, I asked about what other colors they had and the gentleman sure made it sound like he would have given me a red one if I asked nicely. But I wanted black
It's cool that they had a bit of flexibility.
Jaysus145 and I rolled up from Harrisburg not knowing what to expect. We were really blown away by the hospitality and had a great time. The Zen Garden is in my girlfriend's cubicle already. Nice touch by them including a T-Mo SIM as it gives people with coverage concerns a chance to give it a try. My coverage here has been pretty solid but on the ride home, it was very up and down. Coming from VZW, that might be an issue, but it does give me an option for when my contract is up.
Good to (sort of) meet some people at the event. Good times.

I was able to snag a red one as well. The color is really growing on me!
I was at the event as well and was happy to meet some of the people and get a free phone to review and play with. I got the red one as well...seems many people did not know...that they could just ask for a red one lol.
