Probably recognizable for most of the die hard members here. It's like waiting for someone posting a new rom, you keep bashing F5 to see if something is there yet. Now I have a similar problem. Yesterday I received a message from my provider my contract is renewed and the Arc is on his way to my house as we speak.
I checked out Track&Trace and the parcel indeed has left the transport company this morning. Now I notice I keep looking outside the window every 2 minutes I already have the feeling I am a bit behind, while this phone just hit the market a couple of weeks ago.
Well, not a very constructive post I assume, but I thought I share something useless for a change with you guys. I already saw a few familiar names from people who came of X10, but going through the topics I already noticed lots of new names.
Hopefully some good devs buy this thing as well so we can fool around a lot with this beauty.........hmmm....still no postman here

i know exactly how u feel. i ordered 2 and had to wait for a month before i cud get my hands on em. i called sony showroom everyday and eventually when it came, they gave me a discount

Well my wife changed here mind and went to another provider where she gets an ipad2 for free with a 2 year contract for 32euro a month. Really can't understand how they can make money on these kind of offers. I spoke with kpn for a while and in the end I get my arc for free now. In exchange it will be delivered by a very slow postman

Mate, you are going to love it when it arrives. It really is a huge step up from the X10.
I played with the X10 a little this morning and it made me realize how much better the arc is. Also, X10 feels like an absolute brick in comparison.

does the arc also has the 960x854 resolution? In that case you can use the 180 wallpapers i posted in the x10 section. Or would it be wise than to copy it to the arc section as well?
480x854 screen, so those wallpapers will work.

I got mine today too...
I was scared to go to the toilet because it is at the far end of the house and I wouldn't hear the doorman. It didn't help that I had to wait until 3pm for him to arrive
But it was all worth it am loving the phone so far...
If you think that's bad, how about actually having the box in the house but having to prevent yourself from opening it because you have work that needs to be done? xD
I got mine with Three UK, their "All-you-can-eat data" (real unlimited data usage with no fair use policy, tethering supported and advertised) for £40/mo with nothing to pay up front.
According to their store manager it's also unbranded and not SIM locked so when SE stop supporting it I'm hopeful I'll be able to unlock the bootloader

In the same terrible situation as folks without a confirmed date. sony in my country (Singapore) just did a pre-order for SEX1. But I am waiting for operators to pick it up and offer it with contract so that it will cost lesser. Anyway, i am not keen on what the pre-order is giving.

I finally got my HAD TO HAVE IT NOW Xperia - Probably going to sell it .. Haven't even put it in my purse or taken it out of the house. My eyes are older than I am and with the super great resolution everything is too small for me to read .. gotta whip out my magnifying glasses to use it ..

-- Dessuss the accesories that look good/bad in thee accessories sections
-- Looking for cool new apps (thats always fun)
-- Pass the time catting to fellow HD owners to be in irc (freenode #DesireHD)
-- Reading this thred you probably spent 10-15 seconds reading this you have now gotten 10-15 seconds closer to getting your phones (yay !)

Well guys I am going to buy a desire 2nd hand and then see what the reviews say about the DHD and make a decision then.
After all how much can I lose £50???
I just purchased desire brand new £250.00 already sold to someone for the end of the month pickup.

I just got pipped at the post on ebay. I dont mind paying £250 but its difficult finding one at the right price.

The iPhone really sucks. You have to wait for a jailbreak (and that's going to take a while) and you can't tweak the iPhone. Just wait for the HD.

A bit extreme - personally, I will never use a "closed" device again. Android is the light in the Apple Dark.
Well guys I bought myself a second hand Desire this morning and the seller rang me up to confirrm despatch.
The great news is that I can get rid of my iPhone 3GS and have use of a "better" phone for me.
That means that I can be less anxious about the DHD release but will wait for the reviews etc and then decide whether to skip the DHD for the new dual core phones out post xmas and which should run Andriod 3.0
Keeping my pre order with Clove though and hedging my bets

Report it to your carrier. It's pretty obvious where your phone is being used to them, since they have the IMEI number. And, if they can't get it back, they can at least ban the IMEI from the network, making it useless for the guy who stole it!

Im still kinda sad, I really miss my Xperia... But hey, there are good news; now that SE has given a good step and took the right decision, Im looking at Neo or XPlay as I said before, but I have a special interest in Neo (I don't really like Arc). I calculate Im gonna have it at the end of this year, or probably before, I still don't know.
And yes, I already reported my X10 to my carrier, I asked for blocking the IMEI, hope that works.

Right, bad new for me... My MD has decided today that everyone has to have a BB 9900, so my S2 which was going to be with me tomorrow is no more... To say I'm upset and pissed off would be an understatement, but alas, nothing I can do about it...
So if I hang around here beyond now it would be seen as a bit weird and creepy, so it's goodbye all... I won't miss the repetitive posts and questions, but I will miss the great humour and pen craft...

New BB arrived today, still hasnt been configured but I had a quick play...
Design is the usual, but back to the original width so larger than the recent ones... It is the thinnest one ever though... Feels well built and looks pretty smart... Keyboard does feel like the best BB one yet, but the keys above them are shiny so show fingerprints... Back is weird if you ask me... The battery cover is basically clear plastic/glass over a textured surface, again finger prints, but different I suppose...
Now then, OS7... What can I say? Same'ol'same old...As crap as ever but with a brand new lick of paint... Touchscreen works, but I just thought, what's the point really...

Anyway, I'd like to introduce you all to a great new charity... It's called the 'Get Caspa an S2 as his work decided to get him a BB 9900 at the last minute Fund', a great cause as he shouldn't have to suffer in this way... I'm sure you'll agree...

Don't you have a mobile of your own mate or do you just rely on your job to provide you with a phone?You can get the GS2 for free on contract in UK if you cant afford to purchase it outright although i always recommend purchasing outright and avoid long contracts.
Even if i had a job that provided a phone id still ensure i had my own phone and it wouldn't be a bloody iPhone or Blackberry either.
Just an observation
Hello my friends here at XDA!!
It brings me great sadness to say you wont really really see much of me round here for a while. I originally planned to make this thread in about a weeks time when i leave for my holiday to Florida for 2 weeks but im going to post now as today i have sent my beloved X10 for repair due to accidental damage. My x10 is not due back till wednesday, the day before i leave for my holidays.
This leaves me phoneless, i do not own a laptop and tbh i rarely have the patentience to use my **** old pc which sounds like its about to take off with the fan spinning so loudly! I odnt know if any of you notice but 99.999999999% of my posts and pm come from my xda premium app or tapatalk for this very reason!
On the plus side when i get back from my holidays i will be up for an upgrade on my contact and be able to get a better newer phone. When i find something i really like and want i will be leaving you guys. I will pop in of course to 'visit' and when i can i shall post before my holidays. I have a full time job and girlfriend and fairly active social life so dont expect to see much of me is all im saying and when the time comes to move on permananltly il leave you all know.
So really this is just to say you wont see much of me round here for perhaps about 3 weeks give or take a few days.

Im open to suggestions for new phones to get and reasons why. Im staying with android and dont want a sgs2

can you please mention the reason you dont like SGS2 i think is the best option for replacement phone
Wait for new nexus phone...that is what I would do.

Well tbh i odnt think it will, iv buggered up the sim reader and needs replacing / repair. The screen sorted its self out though.

I want something brand new, not that sgs 2 is old but i want cutting edge newt time around and to follow developemt from the start. I dont like touch wiz and if i were to flash custom rom id want it to be like wb rom, remaining close to stock looks.

Hi Bro,
It is strange not seeing you around today as i know you will be missing all the fun of the bootloader unlock. What a time hey to get your phone drunk, i bet you not do that again mate lol.
Well i hope you get a phone sorted quick and that you enjoy your hols, maybe when you get back you can sort out another cheap x10 so you can play around with the unlocked bootloader with us all but if you get upgraded maybe you will not want to bother as you will have something better, well hopefully.

I know exactly how you feel, my x10 got stolen and vodafone didn't have any x10
They gave me Neo instead and its a awesome phone and all but with the bootloader unlock now I'm gutted...

dude that's the best thing ever.. the neo processor and gpu is a hundred times better. plus true multitouch
the x 10 bootloader being unlocked isn't going to amount to what people think.
you lucked out huge.
it is tomorrow i leave for my holiday, 2 weeks time il be back and hopefully have a phone, mine still isnt back from repair, im leaveing for manchester airport at 5am uk time so looks like no phone to take on holiday. Im sad without it and iv missed loads since iv been gone only one week.
