I was thinking the same thing, but for the Euro one.
I used the bootstrap and i got cwm working but it would be good to have it there for sure.

goto this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870690
goto post #486 on page 49. download the file and unzip it. it will be a zimage file. flash the zimage file using heimdall. instruction are below. you don't need to adb install as heimdall will be easier to and it works.
1.
First I rooted (use one click root) then downloaded rom manager.
2.
flash zimage using heimdall when it reboots it will get stuck at the samsung screen long hold the power button to shut it off. boot into recovery (cwm) power button plus volume up button it will start backing up to do the fs conversion but it will fail at /data and /cache. it will leave you in recovery.
3.
While still in recovery select factory reset/data wipe when finished also do a cache wipe (yes I know data whipe also wipes cache)
4.
select reboot system, if you let it try to boot it will loop/hang on the SAMSUNG logo, this is not an issue just hold power key until it powers off.
5.
while off hold volume up + power until you see the SAMSUNG logo then release both keys! NOTE: if step 4 does not fully power off and reboots just keep holding the power button until the screen blanks again then let go and quickly hold down only volume up + power until you see the SAMSUNG logo.
6.
once it boots back into recovery (cwm) it will start the same backup/conversion process again, this time it will finish and leave you in recovery.
7.
select reboot system and wait for it to load the tab back to froyo. (it will be back to factory defaults with the activation screen again)
8.
Your tab will still be rooted so install terminal emulator and run "mount" to verify that your partitions are ext4.
9.
Power off then boot back into recovery with volume up + power, it will boot back into recovery (cwm)
10.
Do a backup and reboot your tab.
How do you install CWM????

The method as you tryed is stock recovery, if you try to enter CWM recovery
after rooted, you must install Defy system recovery
- put system recovery.apk into SD card
- enable(Turn on) Unknown sources and USB debugging in Application settings
- install system recovery.apk from SD card (Use File manager or Root Explorer)
- Open System recovery App and Select Install Recovery system, it will show "Install success"
- Before reboot (Recovery reboot), you must Turn off "USB debugging"
Otherwise, defy will stuck in black screen
OK, If you want to reboot to CWM recovery mode, you can open System recovery App and Select Recovery boot
or Try that

What I always do when I flash something and it goes wrong is enter bootloader mode and flash a new sbf. I'm fairily sure to do that you hold power and volume up while booting.

I mistakenly rebooted after wiping cache, dalvik cache and sytem. Now I'm stuck at the moto logo. Is there any way to enter into custom recovery other than the flashing method you specified above?? I was using SlimBean(Slim-4.3.build.2-UNOFFICIAL-2013027-1124) with TWRP v2.6.3.0.

i install the paranoid android rom on my nexus 7 and now its stuck on the bootanimation of the paranoidandroid rom i didn't wipe the data but i did wipe the caches so if somebody can tell how to get out of it i will appreciate the help I'm new to this thank you
Hold on the power button (I believe) to turn it off and go back to recovery and re-wipe and reflash. It happened to me once. Or wait till the battery dies.
Hold down the volume up (might be down, can't remember) and power button down at the google screen. Then the screen should go black, quickly hold down all three keys (up, down, and power) and it should bring you to recovery mode. :good:

Hi. Have the same problem. When trying getting into recovery mode, nexus stuck on google logo. Please help. I don't know what to do.
Ran into the same thing and now fixed
I had the same problem and finally figured out (I think) that it was because I was installing the ROM and the gapps at the same time. I installed just the ROM and then booted. Then rebooted to recovery and installed the gapps.
1. Hook it up to the computer.
2. Shut it off. Hold power. Then hold Power and Down till at the bootloader screen.
3. Flash recovery "fastboot flash recovery recov_filename.img". I used the zip from thread 1837401 on these boards to get fastboot and clockwork recovery.
Sometimes have to do this 2x if won't run through. If it sits doing nothing, go down in the menu and reboot bootload and then rerun the command before touching anything on the GN7.
4. Go into recovery, flash PA and reboot. After got in and running, reboot and install gapps.
5. Enjoy the awesomeness!
LOL you have to wipe the data. use tib to get your stuff back. Wiping the cache is a meaningless gesture if you haven't wiped the data. If you had followed the instructions in the rom thread, there would be no problem for you.

If you have ics 4.0.4 not 4.0.3 so your problem might be that a script rewrites the stock recovery again so flash cwm via odin in download mode when pass then go to recovery manual after disconnection of computer via volume up+power then flash root in cwm

Please use the proper punctuation. For a couple weeks now I've been trying to understand what you post. Its hard for people to read it when sentence runs into sentence.

I had the same problem, because I had already taken the 4.0.4 update. The problem I (and I suspect the others) were having is the reboot after Odin installs the CWM. It happens so fast, there's no time to unplug the tablet and do the button dance to boot into recovery. As a result, the normal boot goes through, and runs the install-recovery.sh that Ryan79 mentioned in system/etc, restoring stock recovery.
Here's how I solved it: On Odin, uncheck "Auto Reboot". Install CWM6. When it goes green, unplug the tablet (still in "download" screen). Reboot manually into recovery (hold power + Vol. left, release power, hold vol. left until CWM screen comes up). I did this straight from the "download" screen. The tablet powered off after a few seconds of holding the power button, then came up to the samsung screen, then I released the power button and continued to hold the volume button until CWM6 loaded. I installed the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file. I selected YES
when the "Stock Reboot Fix" question appeared. Rebooted from recovery, Successful root! Looks to me like the "fix" simply renames the install-recovery.sh, removing the ".sh" at the end. I have now rebooted a couple of times normally, and can still access CWM6 through the buttons.

Tryvthis first:
Boot to recovery by pressing VOLUME UP + POWER.
when you see blue writing in top left corner release the power button but keep holding volume up until you're in recovery.
P.S The Home button is not needed on i9505 to boot to recovery or download modes.

Secret mode wasn't working in the Samsung browser so I flashed a zip that I found on xda that supposedly fixes this issue and cleared the cache and dalvik cache. I don't see how this could have erased twrp from my device. I currently don't have acces to a computer so I can't use Odin, is there really no way to force shutdown it or something?
