[Q] Screen not turning off while charging. - Atrix 4G General

Hi guys, new guy here trying to figure something out. I've searched other threads, but wasn't able to find the answer. When the phone is charging the screen remains on, just wondering if there's a setting somewhere that can turn the screen off while charging. I've looked everywhere, but can't seem to find a way. Thanks in advance.
Yuni

settings > applications > development > stay awake

Thank you!

OP, by any chance do you (or anyone else for that matter) have the bug of anytime the phone is rebooted (whether plugged in or not), the "Stay Awake" setting becomes reactivated? Mine is this way and can't seem to find any way to fix it.
Not really a big issue to me, but it just seems odd that it would keep reactivating on its own.

HD2 switching off automatically

Hi, does anyone experience the same thing? HD2 turns off and can't be turned on again. Have to remove the battery for it to be able to turn on, it looks like its stuck in power saving mode.
it is also known as the 'sleep of death' by the xda-people.
just go find a better ROM or radio or check which app is causing the issue.
or do a search. Im sure youll come up with lots of solutions since its quite a common problem.
It shouldn't be hard
good luck

Could it be the below setting that is the cause.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585289Start > Settings > Menu > All Settings > Today > Items
The setting "Today timeout", at the bottom left hand corner,
should not be selected/enabled.
Hi, thanks for that little info. Yes it was enabled, will see if it does it again. Had it since November and never had any issues, but to turn on the phone I had to remove the battery.
Will see thanks.
My phone switches off almost every day now and sometimes several times in one day. I've used about 6 different Artemis roms (I don't think it's rom related) and various radios and also tried MemMaid but still no success. Have just switched back to 8GB from my 16GB card in case that is the problem. Update:switched from 16GB to 8GB card and phone has not switched itself off.

Screen On

I can't seem to pinpoint any sort of pattern but from time to time my phone will just be on even after I have put it to sleep and put it in my pocket. Obviously my concern here is it's wasting the battery without me even using it. Anyone experiencing similar problems, or have any suggestions?
*edit* I managed to post this in the wrong forum I meant to post in General can someone move it?
Same thing i would keep my phone on the table and it turns on randomly..
You wouldn't happen to be running Handcent SMS would you?
I have this problem when I am charging it, I will come back to find that my screen is on.

In the settings - applications - development is the stay awake button checked? If so that may fix your problem, mine however does the same and it is not checked so.
I am aiming towards Handcent SMS being the culprit I just need to test a few things.
Still leaning towards Handcent SMS. Anyone with the problem running the fingerprint recognition, wondering if that may be affecting it also?
Looks like Handcent was causing my issue at this time. To fix you go into Hancent settings - notifications - popup settings - uncheck Screen on for popup. Will report back if I find out another app is causing same problem.

[Q] Enabling push notifications

It appears that applications, such as textplus, are unable to notify the User while the program is not in focus due to push notifications not being compatible with the fire. Is this something that can be turned on or installed or is it further down than that? I clearly don't know a ton about the system, just figuring this stuff out. Any information you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!
I think the problem is that wifi shuts off when the screen is turned off. Anyone have a solution for this?
Even if I am using the device I wont get a notification. However, if wifi is off with the screen that is a huge problem as well. I didn't even think about that. Thanks
Wifi keep alive app will help.

Prevent wake when plugging phone?

Hi all,
I have a rooted SM-G935U and was just wondering if anyone has found a way to disable wake when plugging in the phone? I have scoured Google, xposed, and the XDA forums but I have not found a working solution as of yet. Can anyone help me out?
Install Snoozy charger from the play store. The screen will still turn on, but immediately turn off again. To make this even faster you can make the animations faster or turn them even off in the developer settings.

No incoming texts over night until morning; they never show up

Hi folks,
I've got the 6013 model in the US, running on AT&T, completely stock never rooted, fully updated to 10.3.11. Either the most recent update, or the one before that, seems to have caused an issue where texts sent to me overnight or in early morning before I first use the phone never show up. I've missed some important notifications due to this. The worst thing is they NEVER show up... they aren't just delayed until I wake the phone up. After I start using the phone, new texts make it through just fine. The phone seems to be sleeping deeper or something and not getting any of these cellular-based texts. Emails and other notifications based on wifi internet seem to be showing up fine.
Do not disturb is NOT enabled (and, I've tried toggling it on and off without change). This has been going on for weeks or longer, multiple reboots, etc.. I've checked my default texting app (Textra) and the phone's built-in Messages app... the texts aren't in either app. They just never show up.
What else can I look into to check the cause of this and hopefully a fix?
Thanks!
As a test today, I sent a text from my work phone to my personal OnePlus when I got up (late! Father's Day!) before interacting with my OnePlus at all. It did receive the text just fine. I think the cellular radio may be on some timer and going to sleep / waking up on some sort of schedule. Where are the settings for controlling this kind of thing? I haven't messed with this phone's settings much... it just worked fine out of the box and ever since for the last two and a half years until recent update messed this text thing up.
Further information: In Settings, Battery, Battery Saver is OFF (I've never enabled this) and under battery optimization I noticed Textra was set for Intelligent Control; I've toggled this to Don't Optimize. "Messages" was not present; I never use it.
Is there anything else to try? Note that the phone is plugged in and fully charged at the time these issues are occurring.

Dude, not sure but hope it will work,
anyway trying will cost nothing...
Go to settings > battery > battery optimization >
hit on upper right 3 dots and select advanced optimization,
then be sure " SLEEP STANDBY OPTIMIZATION"
is toggled OFF.
Try again and cross your finger...
Cheers

Thanks @Dadditz , that was already off. Sigh. Not sure why this happens. I've tested when I get up at 7 am, sending a text from another phone, and my 6T receives it, but during the darker hours of the night, no joy. Thanks for the reply, though.
Just as a follow up, the problem seems intermittent. I got some 4 am texts from my sump alarm when the wifi went down briefly. No idea what's going on, but it's intermittent rather than constant.
