Hi, I just installed clockworkmod not too long ago, and I'm still kind of new at this. The only other rooting experience I had would be the G1. Well. All the ROM's I flash, it would get messed up near the end? Is this normal or not? I read in another thread that the wifi tether force close could be the result of a bad flash, and the tethers always force close on me =\ So would this be the problem?
Near the end of the flashing, it would zoom in for a few seconds, then it would say that flashing is done.
Here is a quick video I made with my crappy webcam. It should be good enough. Thanks.
Happens to me as well, but everything worked fine.
Hmm...Why don't the tethers work then? ]=
I tried reinstalling both su and the tethers from the market, but the tether always force closes. I tried different roms too
Has anyone else been having trouble with market today? I went to bed last night and the market was working perfectly. When I woke up today though, and its still going on, I will try to download a program and it will start the download for a second and then it just stops like I never even told it to try. I have tried on both the Verizon network and using Wifi.
Am I the only one with this problem? And if not, does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?
Thanks in advance!
my market won't even start. it has a server error it says
Mine does everything normal except downloading. Rom manager wont download clockwork recovery either. All internet works fine tho...
I've been having the download problem too, but then again, I've always had serious problems downloading from the Market. It used to be that downloads would just hang on "Starting" without ever actually downloading. This start-and-disappear thing, however, is new to me.
The end result is the same though -- it's probably about 50/50 for me whether something will actually download and install or just hang or disappear. Honestly, the Market's dysfunctionality (yeah, I made up a word) is the single most annoying thing about Android to me, and the one thing that's legitimately made me consider switching to another OS and phone. It's unbelievably frustrating when you just can't download apps sometimes, no matter how many times you try. And no, I've never found a fix.
Well, I unrooted my phone and now everything works fine. I used Super One Click Root to do it and maybe that just doesnt work for this phone....
Edit, I used a different root method and now I have root and my market is working perfectly. Feel free to try this method if you want and see if it helps you out.

I had this issue also. I fixed it by using root explorer to set permissions. You can do this by opening root explorer-system-app-tap 'Mount R/W' at the top until it says 'Mount R/O' and find and long press vending.apk-permissions-check every box for User, and only check read for Group and Others. Then tap ok and reboot. Hope this works for you

Hi,
I have two Nexus 8gb, one rooted (mine) and the other one unrooted (my wife's), both run stock JB 4.2.1. The thing is that BT sometimes works fine and suddenly it doesn't work anymore till I reboot the device... it happens in both device, so rooting is not the trouble. I have restored the rooted one with factory settings and the same... BT works fine but some day it crashes, after rebooting it works again.
Some of you have the same problem? Any solution?
Thanks in advance.

What you're describing is an issue I've had with Android over multiple phones and multiple versions of Android. I don't have a solution for you but I will tell you that I'm pretty sure there will be some work done to the BT stack in the next release of Android as there are multiple problems with the new Broadcom stack they are using in v4.21. New sound quality issues and connection issues primarily. So hang tight.

I use Bluetooth all day. I turned it on this morning at 08:00 AM. It has been on almost 5 hours. The phone is streaming Sirius XM satalite the entire time. No issue. Same thing every day. I have had 0 problems since I bought the phone.
I think your BT device is the problem.
I don't think so, because the BT device is off when I turned on the BT in the Nexus 4... I have tried several ways, 1st turn on the BT device, other times the Nexus 1st... but there isn't a clear patter, it doesn't work randomly. The BT in the phone doesn't activate, it blocked, only a reboot makes it works... extrange.
well after I rooted the phone with Towel root. The phone now installs 2 android updates on every start up, lags for a good 3 mins on start up and will not stay connected to wife any ideas?
First Tell us what firmware you are using, and exactly the steps you took trying to setup root.

Depending on how well you and the wife are getting along you might want to leave it as is!
Seriously though, we need more information to be able to help.
