Sony Ericsson X10i Hong Kong Android 2.1 Release

I know that this dead horse has been beaten enough already. But I thought Hong Kong Sony Ericsson X10 users may be interested to hear that the Android 2.1 update is scheduled to be released in September, along with a second a marketing campaign push for the handset.
Before you ask me about the source, I'll tell you now that I cannot share it.

That's three separate sources. Come on guy. You can't just make up facts then say "UH, I CAN'T TELL YOU WHERE I GOT THE NEWS FROM" when you clearly just lifted it off one of those sites.

As far as I know, they have said that the release will be Q3 and onwards. There was no official mention of September, only an assumption made by us. Please correct me if I am wrong.
No, I cannot give you a source because the information is not available in the public domain. This information was passed in confidence between Sony Ericsson and a mobile operator.
I thought it'd be nice for me to share this information with you guys but if it's causing so much distress, I have no problem keeping it to myself. Frankly, it's not worth risking my job by posting a confidential e-mail here.
You are welcome to ignore what I post (and you should take everything on internet with a pinch of salt), but the last time I did something like this, it was pretty damn accurate - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725008.

Well that doesnt give us much hope seeing that their employees cant spell their own company name lol

I work with a Pony and can confirm 3 came out

Q1 -> January, February, March
Q2 -> April, May, June
Q3 -> July, August, September
Q4 -> October, November, December
So, if it will be out int Q3, it will be released in September, everybody knows that...

Oh btw August is nearly over so there is no other possibility than september...

When you consider how many other capable phones won't get ICS May isn't too bad. At least Sony is keeping the community informed.

Just a reminder of what SE are like. One word. X10. That is all I need to say. But I will say this. For.the people who didn't have an X10. They said June for GB and actually didn't get it till august. 2months after they said. So don't get your hopes up guys. Even my mate at SEUK said I shouldn't get my hopes up. That they are very unreliable even to their employees. He says that the alpha release will be better than official by.the time they releases hehe. But may. Seems more about what they say every yr. And then it's not till august or September. Same old ways I say. And so does someone who works foe them.

We also know someone who works for them it should be out on time sony ericsson are doing everything to boost there failing phone brand the x8 x10 not so good the 2011 range they have gone all out to get every sort of advertisment they can get have tried the arc alpha and aint looking to bad i think they mite be on time with this dude.
p.s yes sony are slow and behind but if they say a date (which aint normal) they stick to it just look at stuff like ps3 and psn if they dont know they wont tell you nothing if they do your first to know.

I think we'll have it before May in the European Union, hopefully we shall have a leaked ROM before then

It's still better then what a lot of the other companies are doing. I don't think Motorola can live up to what they promise.

I'm so envious, my Orange account was hacked with a fraudulent upgrade within minutes of my upgrade month starting, my account is locked down while the "fraud team" investigate and put it right, I can't even get a pac code and leave Orange, this was 2 weeks ago, I'm so impatient, I should have my One now! sucks dude but if it makes you feel any better i called t-mobile to check if they had stock of the phones and aparently they dont but they assure me i will get it within 3-5 days we will see.

spoke to t-mobile today and they assure be it was being dispatched from there warehouse today!!!! so fingers crossed i will let you guys know when it arrives also had any one else ordered from t-mobile uk?

Android 4.3 postponed to second week of january 2014

Hi all,
Today after chating with Hong Kong chat support they informed me that the upgrade process for Xperia SP,V and TX will be postponed to week 2 or 3 2014 as per picture below, but they didn't confirm if it is for all carriers or only at Hong Kong.

That's terrible news!

No follow the care page; december 2013 is the time we get the update.

I asked the same question for germany they told me that it will be in december as per blogs.

This update will come eventually, so does 4.4

The PS4 has nothing to do with the upcomming update. Ive reported this thread because we dont need a dozen threads about the upcomming update.
There is a news thread about this so continue the disussion in there

We dont need fast updates, we need to be in the updates not to wait like kids waiting santa for gifts, some info from sony can relax us will not affect their strategies

You purchased an OEM device, thus you will have to wait till it goes through the long process like any other OEM stock ROM. Plenty of companies or OEMs do not give information on their updates until a week or two before they are pushed out to carriers.

I have to agree with all the above comments, the update will be out when SONY are ready I think it is too early for a petition thread maybe in a few months if there is no update this thread would be useful. SONY will just ignore the petition rite now, be patient, otherwise a Nexus is the way to go for timely updates.
