Do any of you know where to get "spare" parts for these devices? I recently came across an HD2 with a broken USB connector and I need to get a new circuit board and hardware buttons... just wondering if any of you knew of any sources?
Same problem here. Broken usb and answer and return buttom broken. Htc charges to much for repairing..... Bought a desire hd instead.... Good luck searching.

just to add on this. type "faulty" or "damaged" for mobile phones and you'll come up with a host of devices that're being sold cheap. you can then further filter it down to htc and you should get a few. saw one the other day with the volume keys malfunctioning.
Any of you guys still got your old, broken HD2 lying around?
I damaged the one of the pins on my wifi module after replacing the touch-screen digitizer, now I'm only getting 10-20% signal strength over wifi.
I can't find the part anywhere and wondered if anyone would be up for selling theirs, either the module or whole broken phone?

My screen stopped responding a few days ago. Pretty sure its a HW problem since I've flashed to different working ROMs and it doesn't respond to anything. I'm still debating if I should invest in fixing it or a new phone. If the price is right, I'd be willing to sell it. PM me

May want to look here first... http://www.phonegg.com/compare/12/HTC-Touch-vs-HTC-P3450.html
Your P3050 from Telus is the Vogue(CDMA) while the P3450 is known as the ELF(GSM)
Where the digitizer may be concerned they may be the same, but the phones are completely different while a search on EBay for "P3050 digitizer" came up with 12 hits for the item your seeking
basically, if you have to ask "do you think it will work?" you probably are better off not trying and getting the hardware that fits rather than spending cash on something that may or may not work unable to get a refund and having to spend more to get the right item to start with...
Im assuming your asking this as you already attempted to go to the Telus location near you and dealing with them and or your insurance ( you DO have insurance on delicate electronic equipment that has a high degree of gravimetric interface issues (aka gets dropped and broke easy) LOL

No it won't work... They both use different D-pads

That's a very good price. Jump on it if you need it. When I was looking for them a couple of months ago I couldn't find one for less than $50. Of course, that price included a case that I didn't need...
About that ebay link
Ironically, I JUST bought that same digitizer from that same ebay seller this week, and installed it last night. I have an HTC Touch from Sprint, but this new digitizer worked perfectly. Right fit, easy to connect. Took 4 days to get the item from the time I bought it. Couldn't recommend them more.

I don't know what Telus' warranty is, but I suggest getting a replacement.
I have both phones.
The T Mobile is in much better shape (in additional to the extra mem) and I was wondering how hard it would be to swap just the cell transmitter / receiver.
thx in advance
Arent most SoCs have everything soldered down on the motherboard? The only things that are not soldered down are stuff like camera and screen, since those are connected through ribbons. If you somehow are able to pull it off, I'd be dumbfounded lol.
I was hoping that the 'Receiver P/N 36H00838-00M' was different on each phone.
I went ahead and pulled and swapped.
I was a little lucky - neither was bricked - but no joy.
The T Mobile tried to maintain a E connection (failed) and the 9193 didn't do anything.
I swapped the Receivers back so I'm where I started.
Except for data speed I truly like the T Mobile a lot more. I feel like the display is better (and the extra mem is really great!!)

blimey, skills. nice one. Wanna come swap out my cracked screen for me? my hands shake farrr to much. hehe
Presumably when you swapped the receivers you also updated the radios appropriately? I recently got a 8585 and was pondering purchasing a receiver to try what you describe here.
Are you going to sell your T9193? I may be in need of the motherboard from it to repair mine and have been trying to find someone with one they'd sell cheap. Does your T9193 work just fine?
Thanks
-Drew
Ndarkstar, if you try this would you let me know of the results? Like my last post said my T9193 motherboard is going and it would be way cheaper if I could just switch out the receiver to get 3G with ATT than to buy another phone from Australia. I plan on also PMing you with this Ndark, just in case you dont see this post. Thanks
-Drew
I actually want to try the same thing. Did anyone have any success? I have a T9193 with a bad digitizer and a working T8585. Also, I wonder if I can swap the entire mainboard from the T9193 into the T8585? I know the LCD and Digitizer in the T8585 are slightly different but will all the connectors fit? Any input would be appreciated.

A couple of months ago my hd2 decided it didn't like me anymore and wouldn't respond to touch input. I gave up on it, but I'm really missing it and have been looking to get it fixed.
I've been looking at digitizers on ebay (non-soldering type)
Could someone who's done this please help me and point out if either one of this is the right kind?

I have the T-Mobile HD2 but am in the UK. From what I've read the T-Mobile version has the "plug-in type" so it should be what I need.
well, just try searching tmous lcd
but the thing is that our device is quite old and there might not be anything left

I've been a few months without my HD2 and got an Infuse to tide me over. My HD2 had the same problem and HTC said repairs would be as high as $160. I bought the glass for $26 thinking that I have replaced one on an Aria, iphone4 and repaired someone else's work on an iPhone4, so this should be cake. I watched every video I could find, got all my tools out and with a few undisturbed hours and a well-lit office, set to work... and totally BORKED my phone. The digitizer ended up separating into a deck of mylar-like cards and reintroduced me to its version of 52 card pickup. Disassembling to the point of the touchscreen/digitizer is easy enough, but that touchscreen/digitizer is a b****! I then ordered another glass & digitizer (not already sealed together) and set about putting those in, and... I am back where I started - with a non-responsive touchscreen. I ended up findin an HD2 on craigslist for $100- in winmo only, the touchscreen is sometimes nonresponsive, but haven't had this issue show up in AmericanAndroid, SD version (yet). If you try to do it yourself, watch every video and get this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HTC-HD2...005?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b0ad776d for the TMoUS version.
do NOT use the ones in your ebay links as getting the glass separated from the digitizer is FAR more difficult (yes I used plenty of heat) than anyone lets on.
Well, I had attempted a repair on my hd2 (the international one); which I messed up big time.
After reading that comment, I guess I'll just sell for parts.
Problem is, I'm now in the UK, and getting it from the US means having to pay heavy customs charges on top of buying the phone.
So I bought my girlfriend a N7, she had it for almost a month before her dog decided to chew on it. It had a case on it but the screen got a small hairline crack and so the digitizer is toast. She was heart broken so I ended up splitting the cost of a new 16gb N7 with her, and she's sending me her old one.
So what should I do with it? I have $125 into it, maybe I can find a N7 with bad hardware and swap screens? Or wait to find a replacement screen for cheap enough and fix it? Use it with a mouse and keyboard? Sell it? She kept it in good condition so the only cosmetic issue from the cracked screen is a teeny scratch on the plastic bezel.
Maybe sell it for parts?
If you do I call dibs on the speaker since I just blew mine the other day :/
Sorry I'm not more help tho

Absolutely. Everyone who drives a car over their Nexus really deserves a new one at no cost to them.
Probably a new car too. Just in case the tablet damaged the tyres.
Will it blend?

The replacement screens on that site are used, which I guess is good because they'll be the same as from Asus but $129, sheesh. I think I'll just wait for someone to fry their N7 or brick it and buy theirs for parts. Maybe I'll just wait for the cost of the screen to come down, it's a 16gb model so if I could find one for less then a $100 it would be worth it. I already have one so I'll probably end up giving it to my sister once it's working.
would you sell it? if so what for? There are a few of us around that are working on trying to get an OTG setup internal that might be able to put it to use.
Unexpectedly got soaked with seawater on vacation with my nexus in my pocket. First of all, out of all of us two cameras, a Samsung midrange android phone, and one of those brick like old Nokia phones all were casualties - only my nexus 4 survived. I think that is pretty impressive.
anyway, it didn't make it through unscathed. The mic does not work and also the gyroscope is pretty wonky. everything else appears intact.
as this was water damage I'm assuming no warranty will cover it. my question is what's the best option at this point and how much is it going to cost?
send it to Google / LG for repair? Try one of these cell phone stores that claim they can repair broken phones? Try and find the part and fix it myself? or just buy a new phone? what's going to be the cheapest?
I would recommend to sell it. The phone is water damaged. Even if you send it to LG or take it to shop to repair mic or gyroscope; other problems will appear sooner or later.

Yep, I'd say get a little bit more money and just get a new one. Keep the old one as a paperweight or something. hahaha

I figured that's probably the best option. Is there no way to tinker around and try and replace the mic with parts that are available on eBay or something until I get together enough cash for another nexus?

There is. Just follow
and replace as necessary. Not sure how long the parts will last. There is a chance that the motherboard would just burn off one day.
My mic has failed too (as well as a portion of my digitizer ugh) and I have decided to order a mic from ebay for $15, I've already opened the N4 up and its super easy to replace so I would say replace it and while your in there look for any corrosion (will look white and chalky) and clean it off with a q-tip and 99% isopropyl alcohol
Water damaged MIC, ordered replacement usb charge port from ebay for £12. Using the video posted, I was able to successfully replaced my fault MIC, phone is working as per normal.
I ordered one from eBay but it looks different from the original. You guys think I should install or send it back? This one has two antenna connections but the original only has one.
