Anyone having trouble watching youtube videos or flash videos in browser? Mines keeps crashing when I try to watch a video in browser and in youtube app
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App

You didn't happen to download the flash player from the market did you? If so there is another thread in this forum that has a link to the proper APK that is optimized for the tegra 2.

LOL.
And to be OT, flash videos are amazing and crystal clear at this resolution.

I agree, it even runs HD streaming perfectly on Amazon.com prime service.
Netflix streaming does not work, the webpage reports that 'its not compatible with your browser' seems stupid, but oh well.. now i have an amazon prime account!
Wish this thing would play mkv's. thats a big issue.

A+ for saying what we all wanted to say ... sadly spankwire wont load desktop version for me

actually I restarted my phone and everything is back to silky smooth.

Netflix uses Silverlight bro. You wont be able to view any SL content until it's put on on the market like Flash player is. But it will never be put up so no need to worry about it

you can view Amazon Prime on your Atrix? I tried but the Watch now Link did not do anything.

In another thread someone mentioned that they were able to play the videos by browsing to the website.
I tried that in the stock browser and the video started playing. It looked nice and smooth and HD. After about 2-3 mins, the framerate dropped to like 3 frames per second and the video become unwatchable. I couldnt figure out a way to fix it, so I gave up.
This is a deal breaker for me considering how awesome HBO Go is. Any rooted devices/custom roms got it running?

Works perfectly in the Dolphin browser.

this is debatable. Not everyone has been having the same success as you. I have tried a couple different browsers and the video starts out smooth, then after a few minutes the frames drop and it's unwatchable.
Haven't been able to figure out why, since I have plenty of RAM available.
Contact HBO. They have to make it work.
It's only a matter of time until this app has GTab 10.1 support. Email the developer. I did. And I'm having success watching it through Dolphin HD

720p videos in Youtube app

Hi,is there a way to stream 720p (instead of HQ which is 540p i guess) in youtube app?
The only way i tried is by browser,it's ok but it's difficoult to touch the commands...
I was looking for a third parties app or an hack of the original app

In short, at this time, no.
Just use the browser to watch 720p YouTube. The hardware acceleration works flawlessly and it runs silky smooth!
Tip: you have trouble hitting the full screen button on the lower right of the video, just long-press once the video loads up, and an overlay should appear which lets you full-screen easier.
Even if I use the browser I get that ridiculously crappy 360p, it just loads m.youtube.com and I can't leave it.
What am I doing wrong? Only way I've ever watched 720p youtube have been embedded videos. The difference is not even funny, how come there's no third party app for this? It's insane.
You have two choices. One is download an app call JetVD, you can google it and download it right fron your phone. The next option is download a browser like Dolphin Browser from the google market and select it to render websites as it would if you were browsing on a desktop. Both ways will net you 720p but the Dolphin Browser will get you 1080p if you care for it lol

JetVD is not on market.
I normally use Tubemate to watch or download youtube video.
you can choose 360-1080p video to watch and also can download them which is awesome for me. Tubemate is available on market or you can google it.

Probably it is frowned upon for downloading youtube videos, i had a rom once that had an in youtube download option and the dev several times got a youtube email stating they would like him to use the stock one.
On the url place of the browser type ABOUT:USERAGENT then on the menu that comes choose desktop now go to every page and it shown as it would be on your home pc

No Sound From Flash Using Firefox Browser

Downloaded Flash Via an apk file and managed to get the video working from TV network websites so I can watch prior episodes I've missed. BUT there is no audio.
Can I use Firefox Beta or maybe I have to utilize a different browser?

How about some help for a bro?
Seriously, I'm returning the Nexus 7 if I cannot get Flash to work with it. There are many websites I go to that use it so personally it is a deal breaker. I admit this is a better hardware device than my KF but at least the latter does what I need it to.

Thanks alot, I owe you one!
I cannot play videos from every website I went to test it, but 90% worked for video AND sound.
I'm bookmarking the link you provided cause I have a feeling when another software update comes along it may not work and the developers will update that thread accordingly.
All other apk files for Flash I tried beforehand didn't work except the .17.

Flash is a bit hit and miss on the N7 but flash down loader on Play might be of use.
For TV in the UK you can't beat TVCatchup.
Thanks again for the thread on xda for Flash .17.
Still some websites where I cannot play videos BUT those are in the minority versus those that work.

Latest Flashplayer + Boat browser.
IMHO - Boat is way better than Chrome.

You Tube offline watch it later. Possible ?

The last version of youtube enables the preloading (caching) of all the videos you add in the watch later playlist. But it needs to be online in order to play them, for some crappy reason. Is there a way to bypass that and play all the videos in "watch later" while offline?
Some info on this feature and the crap reason.
YouTube, careful to draw a distinction between this and total downloading of its vids (which breaks its terms of service), is careful to point out that you’ll still need to be online for the first second when you press play.

Guys, he doesn't want a YouTube downloader. He wants to be able to play the video the official YouTube app caches but while offline. OP, I didn't know you could do this, I'll look around for a way.

I can't get on WiFi at the moment but, I'm thinking that YouTube would store the videos on your phone. I'm thinking in the /data partition under one of the YouTube apps folders. I'll check later tonight once I have WiFi.

Just use a YouTube down loader. I know its one extra step but if its worth the extra step then do it.
Use PVSTAR+ as player - it searches and shows youtube vids, and stores them in a cache. You can also copy them out of the cache and they are normal mp4 files. (it also has a mp3 mode, which only downloads the music part it seems). The app also runs in background and with screen off. Completely replaced youtube app with it.
(it also searches on dailymotion and i think you can add other sites)

Does the video you tried to watch support 1440p? Search for "2k demo video" or something and see if 1440p is available when you watch one of those.
I did not do anything special it just played search 4k video test you will find a couple great test videos.

Should be by now. It wasn't when the OP was made. I hade it before apk mirror too.
However the OP was to inform people they did not need to do the build prop edit anymore to get the 2k viewing.

New app updated from Google Play worked for me. But it wont work right off the bat. You have to force close app, go to the app settings and clear cache and data. Restarted YouTube and voila! Haven't had 1440p enabled in quite a bit
Anyone Know how to keep video quality at the highest? seems to change between videos. Nothing is settings.
Depends on the resolution the video was uploaded with. Some videos are low resolution, some are high. So you have to check each one. YouTube also streams in a lower resolution to get the video to the viewer quicker. Not everyone has fast enough Internet to stream 4k videos without buffering issues.
