Now why is the phone charging yet battery level doesn't go up but down very slowly WTF?, also I have this problem very frequently where it just doesn't charge at all! But this time it isn't charging its discharging even with the charging sign SMH, anyways who else got this problem?
This phone is so lucky there isn't another htc phone with a real keyboard that looks as classy and has the latest GPU processor (I swaer these are the only things that is keeping me with this phone) in tmo other than the G2, and no not the mytouch 3g slide, it is outdated already small 3.4 screen, thicker than G2, older GPU (adreno 200) so nop not that one lol the glacier seems to sport a real qwerty keyboard but not much is known so it is too far away from now.
do u have wifi turned ON when you charge? If so, try turning OFF wifi and charging it.. you should see a difference
You didn't have Navigation running, by chance, did you? I remember my Nexus One couldn't keep up with the stock car charger and got nice and warm while Navigation was running. You might also want to try rebooting; there may be an app that's drawing a lot of CPU time and killing the battery faster than it can be charged.
System Process "YES" Running G2 phone down?
So I did some digging last night and noticed that this system process was running my phone at 100% cpu usage all the time... System Process YES. Anyone know what the hell this is for and why it is having such a negative impact on my G2? I am at wits end here I want to find out if it is me before I call in to T MOE AGAIN.

It is unlikely to be wifi directly. In my experience wifi uses less than 3G. I have been leaving my wifi on nonstop since the initial reports that T-Mo may be going to a (firmer) softcap of 5Gb, which I go over every month currently even without tethering. I have had no problems whatsoever with charging.
I think the advice to reboot and see if the charging problem still occurs afterwards might be the better suggestion. It could be a rogue app maxing out CPU time or perhaps continually probing GPS, though I am not sure if GPS alone would be enough to tip the scales.
Nop I got nothing on no navigation or wifi, but now it seem to be charging even tho very slowly.
You could always try powering off the phone when you charge it.
Got the same problem with my T-Mo G2...
Now it isn't charging / powering up anymore :|
Possibly a stupid question, but are you using the stock charger? Most other chargers do not provide as much current and may not be able to keep up with the phone's power usage.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Also, keep in mind that if you're charging via USB (via laptop or PC) you're not going to get as much charging current versus using the AC adaptor.
I'm using the stock charger that came with the device and the stock MicroUSB cable connected to the charger.
Also tried with HTC HD2's charger.
Man I just hope this gets fix with the OTA update, but wouldn't this be a hardware issue so it can't be fix with update?
This phone by far is the wierdest most problematic device I've ever had in my life, but at the same time the best lol

Wow and the charging problem continues smh, its now stuck on the small red bar not going to the yellow or green been charging for 2 hours and its only @ 15%, and the replacement shipping had issues so the 2 day shipping I paid for did not happen so now ill have to wait by Monday and I order the 2 day shipping on Friday. Lucky me I did demand them to waive the 20 dollar fee for the 2 day shipping since I did not get the shipping in 2 days so they did waive the fee

Just so you guys are aware most laptop usb ports do not supply enough power to charge your phone efficeintly. Most have a high power usb port with an icon to indicate this which is what u should charge from.
Iv noticed if I use a regular port my phone bearly charges.
Let me know if this helps!

Its due to the fact that android's battery meter is more of a demand meter, so if you don't run it all the way down the first couple times it won't read remaining battery life correctly and try to make you charge when you're at h alf battery.
See threads about calibrating battery.
Hrm. I've had a 3500mah + extended back cover for several weeks now as purchased off eBay. This was before I knew about the wonders of Juice Defender and custom roms that helped increase battery life. This was when I was getting a few mere hours out of the stock battery before needing to charge.
Anyhow, the 3500 did increase life. I'd say it doubled it. After I found out about JuiceDefender, I only stayed with the 3500 for about two days before I reverted back to the stock battery. With JD, I can easily get all day out of the stock battery. It's amazing.
I just took the cover off the 3500 to see if I have two 1200's or two 1500's sandwiched together. I took the end cap off and indeed there are two cells laying on each other, but don't want to disassemble any further. Battery is a nice spare to have.
What an amazing battery!
Never seen that number even on my Flyer!

he could have disabled all animations, force-closed processes, etc.
I have bluetooth running eight hours a day, streaming music for four to five of those to it, at least three to four hours of reading massive PDFs (textbooks), ppts, and word documents, WIFI on whenever available, etc.
I've gotten 10-13 hours without too many issues. The 10 was with a LOT of screen time, wifi or data running always, and bluetooth running always.
It also depends how you charge your battery. I make sure to fully charge my battery, and then run it into the GROUND (eg note powers off completely) before I plug it back in. Every time. You get maximum capacity that way, there's a name for this, but I can't remember what.
Anyway, battery 101. Kill processes, disable unneccesary services, use WIFI when you have it, disable everything you don't need, disable sync if you want/need to, disable gps, animations, and especially use minimal screentime. I don't see why the note wouldn't pull at least 36 hours if it was left in airplane mode the whole time.
Actually I was just watching movies and listening through bluetooth, thats why I don't have other processes eating my battery but I didn't do anything special..just straight 6 hours of watching movies using mobo player..
But I noticed that using mobile data to surf the net would drain my battery faster, so try to use wifi whenever available..
Everything about my setup is stock, only de-odexed to manually install my language..
Also noticed that when my phone left idleing, there will be Android OS drain in my battery usage, wigh "suspend" and "events0" showing in BetterBatteryStats but I still didn't figure out how to solve that..

Yeah, I managed to squeeze out around 15 hours on my Mini (around 14 hours screen on), on Wifi browsing 10~, 2~ hours on Pdfs, 2 hour video, 1 hour music with screen off.
Brightness @ 55-60%? not entirly sure but somewhere around there.
That again, its fully data on Wifi and not 3G.
The Mini does seem to use RAM a lot more efficiently, It does run a like 2 task in the background and pauses the rest doesn't jerk up (99% jerk free).
Tab runs a huge ton of apps in the background without pausing intensive ups, it uses up RAM fairly heavily and jerks up a bit. I find myself constantly tapping on the multi-task menu killing background task dispite having 1GB<-Thats a touchwiz ROM btw haven't tried AOSP on that.
Besides that, Ti OMAP 4430 vs Apple A5 2nd Gen
Both Cortex A9 Dual Cores running at 1Ghz, Ti uses 45nm while the second gen uses 32nm (More power efficientcy)
Both have PowerVRs, Ti has a Single Core PowerVR SGX540 @ 304MHz Vs A5's Dual Core PowerVR SGX543MP2 @ 250Mhz/core
Overall, I believe it has more to do with Android's base. It is written on Java as a pose to C+ like iOS. Java needs its codes to be emulated on a virtual machine while iOS runs it nativly.
If Android can be coded in C+, It will take away CPU cycles and we could see a drynamic improvement in battery life, speed, literacy and closer CPU and GPU integration.

Do you suggest that it is better to keep plug the charger even though already full.
Is there a Charge and Discharge Counter or something like that, just like a notebook, that would shortened the battery lifetime?
In that case, it is okay then to let it charge over the night, right?
The one your describing is called charge-cycle. Every battery has one. Its better to fully drain your battery once in awhile so the cell on your battery wont solidify. Do it maybe monthly. On notebooks we can remove the battery, and use it plugged-in so it would not wear-out the battery fast. Plugging your device while the battery is still installed is different from no battery and plugged-in at all.

It came in handy this morning. Apparently I was so tired last night that I set my phone down on the wireless charging station (forgetting that I didn't have the wireless charging cover) and forgot to plug in it. At some point in the night my phone died, meaning my alarm didn't go off. Luckily my wife's goes off about 10 minutes after mine normally would. So, I plugged it up & was able to have a 50% charge before walking out the door to go to work this morning. That was a very pleasant experience with the quick charge feature.

P.P.S Defintitely not sure about it but you can be.
Greenpeace would complain because more power is used to charge quicker and for more power used, there is more power needed but for the extra power needed, coal power stations need more coal and to get the coal you dig it out of the ground. So in other words, the dinosaurs may be dead but they are dead pissed.

The biggest I see with this "Faster Charging" is that, this is the first phone I have ever owned that doesnt die on the charger.
What I mean by that is that, when I using the HotSpot Tether and playing games and multitasking all at the same time, my previous phones would either over heat and force the phone to cut off to cool down "LG G3" or the battery percent would get lower and lower while on the charger.
This has been my problem on every phone from the HTC M8 to S5 to M7 to Note 3 to Nexus 4/5 everyphone.
With this faster charging it charge fast and is able to keep up with my multi tasking demands while using the phone.
This may be a feature of the Snapdragon 805 being able to handle the work load better.
