=== INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (CWR)
This process will erase everything on your nand. So, if you are already using a previous rom, backup everything!
First of all: DON'T USE THE MAGDLR FUNCTION "USB MASS STORAGE" TO COPY YOUR FILES ON THE SD. IT IS BUGGED AND WILL CORRUPT YOUR FILE. YOU HAVE TO USE AN SD CARD READER OR CWR USB MASS STORAGE FUNCTION
Download PANASONIC SD FORMATTER and use it to format your card with SLOW ERASE
Prepare your SD Card with first partition primary FAT32. This is where you will put all your stuff like music, videos... so make it bigger as possible less the space for the EXT partition. Ext partition must be EXT3 or EXT4, primary, and must be the second partition of the SD card, just after the FAT32. The EXT partition will be seen from your phone as it's internal storage memory. Maximum 1gb EXT is suggested, bigger one can cause issues. Refer to this for an help to make the partitions http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...6#post10654666(only ext3) or use this for ext 4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905089
After the partition are created, you need to flash MAGDLR 1.13 and the 400mb Recovery for MAGDLR that you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913 follow the instructions on the thread
Download the FULL RAFDROID PACKAGE and copy the entire zip (not extracted!) on the SD CARD root.
Put the SD CARD in your phone and power it on and go in the MAGDLR menu (hold the power key while powering up)
Select BOOT AD RECOVERY
Click on INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD and then CHOOSE ZIP FROM SD CARD
Select the FULL_RAFDROID_HD_EXT_*r*.zip that you downloaded before.
Select "Yes - Install........" and wait for installation then Go back with power button and select REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
First boot can take up to 20 minutes. If you are stuck on white screen with HTC logo just wait. If you hear boot sound more than one time, you had a bootlop and something has gone wrong. Maybe your partitions are not setted up properly. Delete everything, reformat your SD card and try again.
When you see the lockscreen, give at least 5 minutes to settle. Then do all your settings and then reboot again
Go in Settings -> Audio -> Disable "audible touch tones". This will avoid robo voice and phone freezes.
Enjoy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember: bootanimation is not working then you have black screen do not worry just wait
you need :
ext3 or 4 partion on sd card
magdlr 1.13
recovery 400M

File was not completely transferred. Assuming it was moved from pc to SD card via USB mass storage on MAGLDR 1.13, it happened to me today.

thanks dude, funny thing is i went to flash a cwm zip lik ten mins ago and it also happened to me
question already answered, so I removed my post
I think It is Because He Is Using The Wrong Option ..
He trying to use the "update" Option .. not the "Choose ZIP from SD Card" Option
To Install Your New Rom ..
Choose From the menu - Install ZIP from SD Card
Choose From the menu - Choose ZIP from SD Card
Choose From the menu - Choose THE ROM ZIP from YOUR SD Card
Use the 'Volume Down' button - and Choose THE ROM ZIP from The Menu!
And Then press the 'Call' button!
This Will Install The ROM that you copied to the SD Card!

Nope. You can see the zip files he's trying to install. He's clearly using the choose zip file option.
The issue is that you put the .zip onto the card using magldr/cwr and those two methods sometimes cause problems. Put it there using regular phone disk drive or sdcard adapter, and if that still doesn't work you should try redownloading the .zip file.

I would agree looks like you are trying to use the update. Follow Warlocks directions and you should be good to go. If that don't work delete it from your SD card and move it back over and try again.
Hi all,
I'm about to root and install CM7 in my Nook color by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227
As I have no microSD adapter, I've just wrote an image on the card while it was still in the Nook. (Just plug it in and start the process) after it finished, I unplugged it, turned it off and then on again but my Nook just booted normally, not from the SD like it should. Then I checked from the settings page and I found this:

Did I just write an image on the internal memory?!?! I hope not but it seems like I did (?) It can't be right? I had 5GB of memory size showed before but now just 898MB. My SD is 1GB of size.
Please help. Thanks.

Seriously, you amaze me.
Firstly, "I have no microSD adapter" = that's bad, you better get one and a computer.
Secondly, "I've just wrote an image on the card while it was still in the Nook." = that must be a very new technique, you might want to show us how you write an image on the NOOK.
Thirdly, "(Just plug it in and start the process)" = what's "the process"
Fourthly, "after it finished, I unplugged it, turned it off and then on again but my Nook just booted normally, not from the SD like it should." = you said you unplugged, I assume you meant removing the uSD off the NOOK, then how would you possibly expect CM7 booting from the uSD? You drive me in a maze.
Do explain a bit clearer.
if you have a blue dot nook, you have a 5gb system and 1 gb "storage" partition. This _MIGHT_ be normal for you.
I suspect this:

and that the image write to the SD card simply failed. You will probably need a card reader and possibly EASEUS Partition Manager (if you scrambled the card badly enough) and/or a fresh SD card to proceed. I was able to write the initial image I used to SD using the NC as my card reader, but I've seen wikis saying you're taking a chance doing it that way.
It might be worthwhile to try inserting the card at different times (after OS is fully started up, after reboot but before OS has fully loaded) to see if you can get the NC to recognize it, which might get you a second chance at writing the image. Most likely, though, you've scrambled the card good and will be lucky to even get a PC to recognize it in a proper card reader.
I doubt you did anything at all to the NC itself.

So first of all, don't panic. It's going to be just fine.
Second-- is your stock system rooted? If so, I think it would still be possible to install CM7 but perhaps not easy for a beginner.
Since you are a beginner, I might point out that the microSD adapters are about $6. You really have no excuse not to have one.

I'm not at all familiar with stock or the partitioning, but you are doing this wrong. You haven't hurt anything permanently, so relax, but I would follow the standard procedures until such a time as you have mastered it before you start improvising.
Just a friendly suggestion.
Ha ha.votinh....I'm sorry but that reply was classic.
using HTC HD2 512MB version, with MIUI.COM installed into the NAND
Questions:
1) I went to setting, and check the disk space free for the phone, adding up the disk space used, and free space, I only have 250MB in my phone? Why? How do I see 512MB in my phone?
2) How do I make the SD card the place to install all applications? like making it default?
3) When an application has been installed onto the phone; it says "30MB on Phone" and I hit the button "move to SD", and after moving, it says "140kb on SD" - what happen? Does it mean that it couldn't move the application from phone to SD? Or file size reported incorrectly?
250mb is a lot of room still left on your device. i only have 73.5mb in my system and i partitioned my sd card to 1gb so i still have 686.1mb left for data.
a great tool to know what apps can be moved to your sd card is appmonster. i personally love the app and have the pro version. it will tell you what apps can be moved safely as well as create a backup of evey apk file you install. a lot of other features as well. im sure there are other ways of doing this but i'll stick with this app instead.
I think you have misread my post; I have using HTC HD2 which is suppose to have 512MB in the phone,
but when i go into the system setting and take a look, adding the used up space + free space, both of them adds to be only 250MB! where did the 256mb go to?
Thanks, I will try app monster, but please let me know how do i utilitise the whole 512mb? It seemed that I'm only using 250MB of the 512Mb in my phone
yes i thought you meant you had 250mb availible after you installed your ROM. also there is a app called Move2SD Enabler (root only) free in the market that will allow you to install to your sd card by default. to answer your question that you only have 250mb total it would seem this is wrong in some way. i mean if that was true you wouldn't be able to flash almost any sence ROM because they almost are always over 250mb. what miui ROM are you running and how large is that ROM? all i could think of is you partitioned your phone incorrectly but thats really just a quess so my advice would be to wait for someone with more experience. sorry i couldn't help out more.
Sense rom? I'm using MIUI rom, which is about 78MB when download from the website;
I wasn't saying that's what you are running only that if your device only had a total of 250mb that you wouldn't even be able to flash a sence Rom. Have you tried to look at a app that will tell you how much space you have as a way of double checking the numbers you've gotten?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
You have 512 but your Rom and system files are installed on there so you dont have much leftfor apps
You need a Rom with apps2sd support and you need a ext partition on your SD, cwm will partition for you, use this Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498 there is an app on there to move dalvic cache and apps2sd

your question was answered earlier as you already have titanium "BACKUP" then use it no data will be lost
and also THIS page will help you out alot
Use miui backup its pre installed back everything up, install new Rom format SD via cwm (back up everything on SD first pictures videos and stuff and your miui folder) when you partition it using cwm it will wipe your SD install new Rom, go to the apps2sd GUI turn everything on, then go to miui backup and restore everything

thanks guys for helping a complete newbie!!! the official miui tutorial should include this info too!
btw, from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498
it says:
Choose EXT size (Maximum is 2048Mb) and Swap size (Recommand is 128Mb)
but there's a select to choose 4GB as EXT size........should i go with 2GB or 4GB?
I think my microSD class 2, which is way too slow for this; I've to get a class 6 or 10 one.
I tried to use 1GB ext, and it's working perfectly now; even with class 2 speed!
Stick to 1gb you'll have problems after that

Hi
1024 MB with 0 MB swap is all you need.
Any more will possibly give you problems.
0MB swap? i used 258 or 128,
is there an easier way to change swap to 0MB?
I'm using an 8gb sd card for my HD2 and I wanna expand to a new 16gb one. My device is currently running Hyperdroid and I wonder how to transfer all of my data and files ...in my old SD card to a new one. Is it simply copy/paste or all them or something else ? Just want to make sure everything is working properly after installing the new sd card. Someone plz help me with this
hi,
If you're using mgldr, i would suggest making a full back up in recovery first by booting into mgldr>ad recovery>back up and restore>back up. After that, format your new sd card and partition it as required if you're using sd-ext/apps2sd. Remove old sd card from phone and make complete transfer of all the files from old sd card to new one by cut/copy paste method using your pc. After transferring files, insert your new sd card and boot into recovery by going to ad recovery in mgldr. Once in recovery, go to back up and restore choose restore and select the back up u made earlier. It should be there if u transferred all the files from old sd card. After restore is done you can reboot and wait for it to settle down. U can wipe dalvic and cache and fix permissions in recovery if u want before reboot but i dont think it's needed since u have a fresh sd card after formatting it first and the files are exactly the same as previous sd card.
Sorry i can't help if you're using clk. Hope i was of any help.
Are you running Android from NAND or SD?
if from SD just copy the whole files from the 8gig to the 16gig
or
just make an image copy of your 8gig to 16gig then just adjust the size using EAUSE or mini tool partition

Yep, this is exactly right although I think you can go to advanced restore>restore SD-EXT to make things quicker (restore backup will restore everything)

Look in my tips thread linked in my signature. In item A9 I list reasons why you may be having problems getting the SD to boot, including using a built-in SD card reader in your PC for burning.
well i have tried everything in A9 other then a USB ecard reader, I have used my laptop and my htc inspire as an ecard reader with no success. I have not tried plugging the usb chord into my pc, i will give that a try later and see how it works. If that does not work I think it is time i give up. Do i have to hold a special button combo to get it to boot into the sd card? or should it autoboot when i power back on the nook?

You don't need any special buttons to get it to boot into the sd card if its done right. When you put your sd card in a card reader, you should see only a drive letter with boot in the name with files like uImage uRecImg, uAltImg, etc on it. If the cm7 zip file is still there, it never flashed properly. It has to have a name with an "update-" prefix, or it won't flash. If you downloaded a CM7 zip file that has any name that doesn't start with "update-", change the name to start with "update-", and try again.
okay this is what i have on my sd card its called boot F: so what do i need to change. I dont understand the update- thing, i have never had this nook cracked/rooted nothing other then stock, I also have done this with both win32 and winimage both have completed successful. I am using generic-sdcard-v1.3.img to make the sd image then copying the cm7 over that is in the attached pic. Any help would be great.

Everything looks right on the card in your PC. But that does not mean it will boot in the Nook. If you have it burned properly it should boot automatically to the SD when you power on from a powered off condition. As I said in my tips thread which I think you read, many factors can prevent it from looking right to the Nook and booting. You said you used the card reader built in to the PC. That can sometimes make it not bootable by the Nook, even thought it looks fine on the PC. Get a cheap usb style card reader and burn with that.
But once you get it booting, you do need to rename that cm- file to say update-cm-. When verygreen made that script file all nightly zips started with update-. Now the CM team starts the name with cm- and verygreen's script will not recognize the name if named that.
