Help me, i got this infinite error loop saying " The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly". I just got this problem today, when i use marketaccess i found out my sim value is empty (and i was like "aha, so that's why i don't have any signal the whole day") then i restore it to original value but i still don't have any signal. So i tried to reboot my phone, and when it rebooted i got this problem.
At first i thought this is the ROM problem (using CM7 RC1 with lucid theme), first i tried to use plain CM7 RC1 without theme but it didn't solve any problem.. Then i use nightly CM7 but still i got the same error message over and over again..
Anything ?
saryu,
I would try reverting everything to Stock, Use the 2.3.1 Nandroid backup here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093 see if the issue is still there.
If not, Bobs your Uncle, start again with CM7.
I restore everything to my latest backup from my rom manager. Back to nightly built 25. All my apps gone, luckily it saves my day.

So for the last 5 days I had some very weird problems with my phone. About 2 weeks ago I started with my first Cronos Rom and it worked great. I flashed 1.5 and 1.5.1 without problems and I used it without an ext partition all the time. But then the problems started. When I wiped my whole phone and tried to reinstall 1.5.1 JIT, the phone didnt boot anymore (stuck on the "Android" bootscreen). I wiped again and again, tried 1.5.1 without JIT, 1.5 etc, but I couldt get the phone to work. Nothing worked, so I created an ext partition and tried again. It worked. My phone started and I was able to use it for about a day without problems though I didnt want apps2sd. But then some other weird things happened. 3 Days ago I bought a bigger SD Card, partitioned it, wiped the whole phone and flashed 1.5.1 JIT. The phone started, but after I installed a few apps, I got an error message (installing xxx failed). I found out that theres an "repair ext" function, and it worked, but after I installed some more apps, the problem was back. The second problem was, that after rebooting the phone, more and more apps wouldnt start anymore (FC). The last problem that occured was an FC of the market app. After that, I wiped everything again, tried to flash 1.5.1 JIT, but it happened exactly the same like on the first time. Problems installing apps, FCs, stuck on boot etc.
I am totally down at the moment because I killed my whole weekend trying to get my phone working again. Could anyone please help my with this? I just dont understand what I did wrong. Shouldnt a complete wipe fix almost every problem? And I dont understand why I suddenly cant use my phone without an ext partition. Any Cronos version I try freezes on bootscreen without an ext patition. Is there any way to get my hero working again? Please please help me.
(PS: I also posted this on the Cronos Board.)
I would take out the sd card, wipe system and dalvik cache, and install some custom rom.
well, to make sure it is NOT your phone, did you try another ROM? Eliminate possible problems?
At least try something that is known and stable, like a stock rom, the Taiwain-rooted-repacks (not a rom based on it, but just the taiwan rom rooted) or good ol' MoDaCo 3.2 (based on 1.5 stock).
Til now I just tried the last 2 or 3 Cronos Roms, and as I said, they didnt work, but when I get home from work I'll try the Modaco Rom I used before.
I dont understand what this has to do with the Rom I use. I always wiped the whole phone, dalvik, etc. so shouldnt it just work like the first time I flashed it? No matter what Rom I use?
Another weird thing (could have something to do with this): After I wiped everything and flashed Cronos 1.5.1 JIT, the market still knew what apps I had installed last time. It showed my bought apps AND the apps I was able to install before the latest crash. So does this mean the phone wasnt wiped completely?
The market tracks your purchases and (free) downloads through your google account. So that's normal that the download-list is full.
But it might very well be that you didn't wipe correctly, although I'm curious how you manage to accomplish that. What is your current recovery?
The whole point about trying another ROM is elimination. It doesn't need to make sense, but you need to check things of the list.
There is something weird going on, so trying to solve it logically will only get you so far . Keep trying to narrow down the list of causes. Might well be a bug with Cronos 1.5, or the overclock not working these days because your phone is just a bit hotter than before, who knows.. Like I said: eliminate causes!
I'm using the newest AmonRa recovery to wipe the phone.
Theres one thing I forgot: Yesterday I flashed 1.5.1 without JIT, and then 1.5.1 JIT right after it (just rebooted a few times between). The phone worked great until my SD card crashed. In the taskbar it always showed me "checking for errors"(something like that, my phone's in german ), but in my PC and in the recovery the card worked like always, so I had to wipe the card and start again from the beginning.
Try another ROM , and if that doesn't work, try without SD card.

Maybe sdcard faulty? What are the logs you get when booting up the phone?
Soooo, I wiped everything again and flashed Modaco 2.8 without an ext partition. It booted correctly, so I wiped the dalvik cache and flashed Cronos 1.5.1 JIT. It also booted (wow, first time it booted without ext since all the problems started to occur) but I instantly got FC's (phone app for example). Now I wiped completely again and flashed 1.5.1 JIT. I hope it boots, as I still dont have an ext partition. As soon as I know something new, I'm gonna tell you.
So now it seems like its working again. I was able to install all the apps I need without a single error and now I'm restoring my settings and contacts. Suddenly it even works without ext again.
I guess there was something very big f*ked up that I couldnt repair by simple wiping the phone. Very weird that just flashing Modaco got it running again. Now I have back my working phone with ultrafast Cronos Rom and without App2SD, perfect. At least till now I hope it keeps working.
Thanks for your help guys, I think I would have smashed the phone to the wall sooner or later. I never thought about flashing Modaco so I'm happy there are people like you.
Thanks again, and thanks to Feeyo for his unbelievable Rom.
PS: Can I uninstall, Facebook and Footprints without destroying everything again?
Yes, just delete both apps using ADB or use a root explorer, search both apps in System/app and delete them.
Or you could use the MoDaCo online kitchen for removing those apps.
I am running CM6 (with no bugs) and when I go to flash a different ROM after going through the splash screen when the phone is about to load and installing last bit, the message "android.process.media..." FC happens. I have looked and looked through XDA for a fix but have yet to find one.
I have rebooted after full wipe, no SD Card, wiping the SD Card etc. all to no avail.
As a note- the only reason I was going to flash a different ROM was to check 4G speeds in SF.
Does anyone know what is causing this?

Not exactly sure why it does this except knowing it doesnt happen when you start your device with the sd card out. I've had the same problem that I was finally able to fix.
Just nandroid backup your phone, wipe everything (Factory wipe/dalvik etc) and nandroid restore.
I tried every other thing imaginable and finally this fixed it as my last resort.
I'm happy I found this out as I was always having to nandroid back to an old backup every other month or so as once this starts FC'ing I'd never been able to make it stop without a full reload of the rom or nandroid restore...
I was running CM7 7.02 from emmc with Dalingrin's 4/24/11 OC kernel, and was very happy with it. However, I got distracted by shiney... Rom manager gave me a pop up saying 7.03 was available, which it hadn't done in the past, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
I ran a full backup, installed the update, booted... and all my apps were gone. It was a fresh install instead of an install over my existing 7.02 like I would have gotten if I just booted from my CWM boot SD card and flashed. Well, crappy, but I have my backup, right? Still, might as well try the OC kernel and see how it runs real quick... oh, won't boot after the OC kernel. huh.
So I boot to recovery, and clear cache, and restore my backup.
Everything looks perfect. Back to my customized layouts... wait, where is my Honeycomb style bottom status bar? I'm back to the default look/feel. Ok, I can fix that... wait, why isn't my N button working? I've gone into ADW settings, selected several options for the "home button" functionality, rebooted, nothing works. I've got everything except a working N button. Why?
The only time it has worked is ONCE right after I installed a second home launcher, flashed 7.02 over 7.02, rebooted, and hit the button. It popped up and asked me which of the two launchers I wanted as default. After that, it hasn't responded.
Anyone have any idea what I did or what I can do to fix this? I'm fine if I have to format and start from scratch, I just would rather not since I'm stuck in an airport and waiting on a flight home, so I'd rather be reading/watching movies/playing music instead of tinkering... if it's something simple to fix, ya know?
That post just made me mental!

I'm glad I could provide some amusement?
I ended up wiping data and system, installing 7.02, gapps, and 4/24/11, clearing cache and dalvik, then booting up and then refreshed my apps and data from Titanium. Everything worked great for a while and then the N button stopped again. No idea what happened. I've been working 16+ hour days for 7 days straight and can't think straight. On the up side, I was able to finish watching my movie on the flight home after my flight was delayed for 4 hours.
I need sleep. I also need to figure out why my button keeps dying. Works perfectly in CWM and to wake the device up, just not for it's intended purpose.
Had a similar problem with the N button not working with the 04/24 kernel. However it got working after a reboot...
One thing you could try is to use the 04/04 kernel instead. Might be a OC related issue.
my nook color has been rooted and been running with CM7.1 for a long time till last night, when i tried to upgrade RomManager to a new version of 4.8.
I used some unusual ways to install the apk, such as copy the apk file directly into /system/app with deleting old one first. and it worked. But for the first time running this app, it asked me to install Recovery, I said yes. And the worst thing happened that the app went to FC, so I rebooted the system to check whether everything was fine, BUT sadly it stopped at the Loading progress with CyangonMod logo in the middle of the screen.
So what should I do next to recover all the things? HELP ME!
SOLVED!!
by using the original Nook Color system 1.0.1, all went back, and I have to root it and install CM7.1 again, all again!
Hey ! I today had a problem with my transformer. I was on stock ics rooted rom and I wanted to give a try to the CM9 with cornerstone rom.
I made a nandroid backup before wiping everything. When it launched, I wanted to connect to internet as usual. But I encountered the problem wich is the topic. The wifi icon (I'm talking about the color, not the toggle button wich was stucked on OFF) was stucked between the OFF-ON step, you know when you click on it, the color change a bit before being lighted wich mean it's on. When I watched Wifi in parameters panel, it was stucked on : Wifi activation.
I waited some hours but nothing happened.
So I tried to come restore my last rom, so I performed a wipe (even if it is maybe useless) and then I backed up. But the problem remained on my back up!
Finally I installed the same rom as the nandroid backup on the back up and it worked.
I just posted this cause I did not find anything on google or xda, so I hope it will help someone a day.
I'm having this problem as well. I'm trying various combinations of flashing Revolver 1.3 and back to my NAND backup. So far, everything restores just fine but the WiFi is still an issue. I may have to try an ICS stock ROM then back to Revolver and so on. I'm sure one of those combinations will work.
Ironically, I used EOS Cornerstone and got back to my Revolver backup without issue but using the CM9 Cornerstone seemed to give me the problem. I'll post back if something works.
****************
Ok, I got WiFi working again without issue. After numerous attempts of using the Revolver 1.3 and 1.3.1 update, the only thing I did differently was install Revolver 1.3 ONLY. I didn't flash the 1.3.1. Upon bootup, I got the typical setup screens and sure enough WiFi was good and it picked up my Adhoc tether without issue and I connected successfully.
I then rebooted into recovery to restore my NAND backup. No issue at this time that I can tell.
I can't tell anyone for certain if this will work but if you are using your NAND backup of Revolver I would:
1. Boot into recovery
2. wipe data/cache
3. Install Revolver 1.3 only. Then reboot like normal.
4. Go through setup screens upon reboot and make sure Wifi works. If it does, don't restore settings and apps from Google, there is no point.
5. Reboot back into recovery and restore your NAND backup.
Hope this helps anyone else. I may shy away a bit from the Cornerstones until we can see some more WiFi stability on them.
Wifi Issue
I had the same issue, I had to flash the Full ICS Rom from asus then restore my nand backup. Seems like going from cm9 back to another rom breaks the wifi even after you wipe. Let me know if this fixes your problem.
Heres the link for the ASUS stock ICS Rom.
