Not getting text messages - EVO 4G General

Anyone else experiencing the same issue? I'm on 6.1 CM. Not getting any text messages, however I am able to send them. Help? ??

I had this problem once on cm6 on the hero.... I had to wipe, load a sense rom, verify SMS worked both ways then really load my cm6 rom.... I've read others have done this as well....good luck

LOL, thanks for the response. I just did that exact thing. Have a sense ROM running fine now.
I wonder if I could jump right into a CM7 nightly? Don't wanna have this issue again...

Why not?

Ok, I got SMS back by flashing a sense ROM then back to the latest CM7 Nightly. However, still getting the V30 voicemail error.
Is anyone else having Sprint VVM errors? Hard to believe I'm the only one.
Thanks

Just wanted to follow up. I restored Sprint VVM via titanium and it worked.

Text messaging is an on and off problem with sprint.... doesn't matter what rom. Making a call sometimes fixes it.

Im on warm 2.2 and this happened to me a couple of days ago. The only reason I even knew was because I was getting texts from someone on google voice that has both of my numbers and they were asking me why I wasnt responding. I rebooted like 3 or 4 times and like 20 texts and 10 mms messages came through.

Works perfectly on my vibrant and my old mytouch. I guess it depends on which device you use

I am having the same problem. If someone can please help us on this then I would really appreciate it. Thanks
I had the same problem with that app after upgrading to any build that uses thew newer ppp networking protocol . My guess is it has to do with the instability of current ppp implementations. The only way I could get that app to work was to use the RMNet version of the ROM.
Thanks man

Having the same problem on Shubcraft 1.5. I have H connection with full signal. First the app says getting account status, then connecting to account, then communication error. Definitely a bug in the app code.
I had problems with it as well
...sign up for a youmail account at www.youmail.com they also have a visual voicemail app in the market...there are a lot of cool features with youmail like custom greetings for individual contacts, the ability to prevent certain numbers from leaving a voicemail and quite a few others.
Same here. And happened when I switched to PPP as well. :/
it worked on a darkstone froyo non sense build for me.
doesnt work on a CM6 based build however, same as above.
I just installed TMO Visual Voicemail on HyperDroid. It uses a Cyanogen mod and RMNET. It worked fine and rather quickly.
Going to try the EVO kernels (which are PPP) on this build and see if it works.
Anyone have an update on this?
Or an alternate app to use with T-Mobile's voicemail? (I don't want a voicemail replacement, like YouMail. Thanks for those who are thinking of suggesting it.)

Where did you find the app? I tried the marketplace but only third party ones show up.
There was an updated one up until about 2 weeks ago. Now it's gone. :/
I found it here, after a Google search.
It was actually linked from T-Mobile forums, people were complaining there as well.
To anyone here who is using this. Does it still work? From what I've read Tmobile is having problems with their visual voicemail.
I am using it currently and have for weeks now with no real issues (the latest build with the new frontend that was pulled from the Market).
There are some non-obtrusive bugs: voicemail icon does not disappear, occasionally old voicemails are not deleted, and a few others.
My biggest non-issue is the incredibly low volume though.

I have not been able to get this to work in over a week now. I thought it was because I changed builds. Nice to know it's a T-Mobile issue.
It actually works for me. Windows version is still a no go, however the latest android version is OK.
I found it here:

This used to happen to Vibrants before Samsung fixed the GPS. Disable location access for google.com. Frustrating, I know, but it will suffice until a fix is released.

My browser kep crashing after I flashed caulkin's tether fix on certain roms.
I removed the fix, and problem was gone.
If you didn't mess with Myn's rom after flashing, there shouldn't be such problem. I'm guessing you probably flashed something addition to it afterwards.

I don't know what to tell you.. I have no issues with Google.com
how is the phone a google phone its made by htc with a google OS .. unless your running a nexus one ?
but yea google.com loads fine for me
It is probably reading something from a previous install and is fighting the ROM for rights to access that website. I ran a clean install of Myn's Warm 2.2 rc2 and am not having any issues. Are you getting any error message when the browser crashes? I noticed that the Android software likes to cough out a multitude of error messages when things go wrong.

Thats what I expected, I just didnt want to jump on the update and crash my phone.
yea it should all good. I've heard of it not finishing the install on some roms but to my knowledge it shouldn't break anything.

Hmmmm... Mostly stock Epic here, but I've noticed that after this update: My voicemail widget no longer works. It shows unable to load on the screen. If I create a shortcut to the app, it works fine. Problem is, there's no indicator of how many voicemails you have without the widget.
EDIT: Sorry... Didn't reboot the phone. That fixed it. It helps if you read ALL the distructions

Texting on sprint.

Is anyone else having an issue receiving texts? I woke up this morning and couldn't receive texts.it was working fine last night. Running cm 6.1 rc, because the stupid pos phone won't let me load a new rom.

Good Handcent alternative?

Well kids, i've been running Handcent since day 1. Up until recently it's been great. Exactly what i wanted. But the past few updates have ruined it. It's slower then ever. To the point of being unusable and i've had enough.
What are some alternatives to Handcent? The real reason i got it was because i liked the layout it offered. I never really played with the other features. Any suggestions welcome.
I tried the new Stock and its ok.
Going to try Go SMS.
I've been using GoSMS

agreed, handcent has become crapware, bloated, packed with "online services".
I used to love it, for it's customizability. (hard to believe thats a real word...)
but with the new Messaging 3.0 in the Sense2.1/3 ROMs... its good enough.
I've heard bad things about GoSMS losing msgs. suddenly deleting All msgs...

I have yet to hear anyone say that go SMS has done so. But it seems to be an android problem. I've heard both handcent and chomp SMS delete all messages. Also, if you do a Google search, various android devices have been plagues with deleted messages (the original Droid comes to mind) ,even when using the stock messaging app.
It seems to have been a problem in the messaging framework in earlier android versions. I'd be interested if you could find these reports of deleted messages on phones running Gingerbread.

GoSMSPro FTW
Just did a search to see if anyone else was noticing how slow it was. Guess I'm not the only one. Gonna try GO as well.
