Works perfectly on my vibrant and my old mytouch. I guess it depends on which device you use

Works fine on my nexus just not this hd2 idk I changed port numbers in my apn and it really made a difference with NY internet speeds so I'm happy about that lol

I am having the same problem. If someone can please help us on this then I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I had the same problem with that app after upgrading to any build that uses thew newer ppp networking protocol . My guess is it has to do with the instability of current ppp implementations. The only way I could get that app to work was to use the RMNet version of the ROM.

Thanks man

Having the same problem on Shubcraft 1.5. I have H connection with full signal. First the app says getting account status, then connecting to account, then communication error. Definitely a bug in the app code.

I had problems with it as well
...sign up for a youmail account at www.youmail.com they also have a visual voicemail app in the market...there are a lot of cool features with youmail like custom greetings for individual contacts, the ability to prevent certain numbers from leaving a voicemail and quite a few others.

Same here. And happened when I switched to PPP as well. :/

it worked on a darkstone froyo non sense build for me.
doesnt work on a CM6 based build however, same as above.

I just installed TMO Visual Voicemail on HyperDroid. It uses a Cyanogen mod and RMNET. It worked fine and rather quickly.
Going to try the EVO kernels (which are PPP) on this build and see if it works.

Anyone have an update on this?
Or an alternate app to use with T-Mobile's voicemail? (I don't want a voicemail replacement, like YouMail. Thanks for those who are thinking of suggesting it.)

Where did you find the app? I tried the marketplace but only third party ones show up.

There was an updated one up until about 2 weeks ago. Now it's gone. :/

I found it here, after a Google search.
It was actually linked from T-Mobile forums, people were complaining there as well.

To anyone here who is using this. Does it still work? From what I've read Tmobile is having problems with their visual voicemail.

I am using it currently and have for weeks now with no real issues (the latest build with the new frontend that was pulled from the Market).
There are some non-obtrusive bugs: voicemail icon does not disappear, occasionally old voicemails are not deleted, and a few others.
My biggest non-issue is the incredibly low volume though.

I have not been able to get this to work in over a week now. I thought it was because I changed builds. Nice to know it's a T-Mobile issue.

It actually works for me. Windows version is still a no go, however the latest android version is OK.

SKYPE at last!!

Skype finally made it to Android and Legend in particular. Haven't tested it with voice calls yet. Now, maybe GTalk will follow?
I've tested it a bit and it even works on EDGE. I couldn't believe that myself but it does.
Link
Hmm... Just seeing the list of permissions it requires confirms I'll stay away from this one as I did from the PC version.
Oh well I lived without it so far without any problem, this won't change
edit: and for a 2.1 stock legend, that's also a pretty big app to install!

Gtalk is a stock app on Android. Or i'm missing your point?
Tested Skype for few mins, seems to work fine. Great sound quality, but... It's so heavyweight and there is no option to shut it down COMPLETELY. Lastly, my phone went offline (which newer happened before) so i just uninstalled it and already forgot. Bloatware.

It froze my phone twice, had to reboot several times... This release of Skype makes Legend unusable, at least my Legend.

Can someone please post the Skype.apk file.
The Skype download for Android link doesn't work.
Thanks,

If you use Market Access, you can gain entry to it.
I did this and downloaded the app, however, i keeps crashing within seconds of me running it. Any idea why?
When I try to sign in, it instantly says try again later, seems like it doesn't even try to sign me in. Any earthlings having the same problem?
Works fine on my phone.

EDIT: Spoke too soon... Skype just crashed, and now I can't sign in either

[Q] Voicemail Cyanogen

I recently just flashed Cyanogen and was shocked to see no voicemail app installed. I searched around and saw google voice stuff but when I tried to set it up it wouldn't work. Can someone help me please?
I believe there should be a flashable zip or the like with all the google apps.
Sent from my Epic 4g running Nebula Rom
I already flashed Google Apps, and there isn't any voicemail app included in the package.
There isn't an AOSP app for voicemail [besides I guess Google Voice]
Darn, I guess I'll have to pick up my phone from now on.

I suggest Google Voice. It is much better than sprint vvm.
Has anyone ever figured out to get rid of the phantom voicemail notification on cyanogen?

There's no voicemail app, because we had this thing back before smartphones, where you called a number, usually your own, and would get to a audio-prompt voicemail system...
I know, archaic, but most of the world still uses it.

Dowload SPC (free from the market) and blacklist 9016. Works like a champ.
I posted a flashable zip for Sprint VVM a while back which works fine on cm6.x. I use GV for my business line and Sprint VVM for my personal line on the same phone.
Sprint's VVM works just fine on CM6 for me-- no "phantom" VM notifications or anything. You do get text messages from 9016, but I configured Super Private Conversations to blacklist it awhile back and since then I've completely forgotten that was ever an issue.
That's so weird... I just had this problem this morning... after a little browsing, I found the APK for sprints visual voicemail. Simply install it from email and there you go! I'm running cm6 and the sprint vvm is working perfectly. I would definitely suggest that!

LOL, thanks for the response. I just did that exact thing. Have a sense ROM running fine now.
I wonder if I could jump right into a CM7 nightly? Don't wanna have this issue again...

http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/forum/48-htc-evo-experimental-mod/
Ok, I got SMS back by flashing a sense ROM then back to the latest CM7 Nightly. However, still getting the V30 voicemail error.
Is anyone else having Sprint VVM errors? Hard to believe I'm the only one.
Thanks
Just wanted to follow up. I restored Sprint VVM via titanium and it worked.
Text messaging is an on and off problem with sprint.... doesn't matter what rom. Making a call sometimes fixes it.

Im on warm 2.2 and this happened to me a couple of days ago. The only reason I even knew was because I was getting texts from someone on google voice that has both of my numbers and they were asking me why I wasnt responding. I rebooted like 3 or 4 times and like 20 texts and 10 mms messages came through.

whats the best video chat app qik, tango, fring or oovoo

So after using Cyanogen 6 & 7 here's a little review on what video chat apps work on froyo CM6 and Gingerbread CM7. I figured this would save some of you some time
Qik - works great on CM6 but it force closes on CM7. Video quality is good and audio is ok good enough to do the job
Tango - works great on CM7 with a mod where you can use front and back cameras. But on CM6 it only detects the back camera. Video quality is good but audio not so good
Fring - works on CM7 with out any mods but the video and audio quality is not so good. On CM6 it only detects the back camera.
Oovoo - is the new kid on the block working great both audio and video on CM6. I didn't test it on CM7 so if someone does let me know this app and Qik is the reason why I went back to CM6 from CM7.
I've tried them all too but unfortunately the battery drain from the apps is really poor... I just uninstalled and will reinstall when a friend wants to video chat.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Battery life on cm6 is really good even with the video chat apps
Tango is still upside down for me on FFC using CM7. Changing manufacturer to Samsung in build.prop didn't fix it . Image is right side up using the back camera.
What about Yahoo? It's apparently the only one that works from phone to PC. Can anyone confirm on our devices?

Tango works great for my girl and I using the older version. The updated version has us looking at each other upside down. So if anyone having that problem just revert back to the older version.
Qik I have not tried since I flashed cm. I heard its working on the latest nightly build but have not tried it. I never liked the quality when I used to use it on the stock rom anyways.
Yahoo video chat still gotta be the best though. Video and sound quality are best. Better than qik and tango. And it does not work only from pc to device, it also works from device to device.

the Gingerbread ROMs are the only ones with goofy FFC working with Applications. All FroYo based ROMs should work fairly well. The app developers have no upped their apps to work with Ext4 style ROMs. It has nothing to do with the developers of the ROMs, but has everything to do with the App Developers.

Use Vlingo....that app is flawless, and you can do literally almost anything on it. Plus it's free.
U have to download voice search from the market. That's what I did miui rom.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Voice search was is already installed on most of the ROMs I used, and it was updated by me if it needed to be. Im talking about when I open up my key board to send a text, I would use several different keyboards that have the mic and it never would work properly. Sometimes it would work OK, but most of the time it was horrible. I noticed that all gingerbread ROMs I use also do this. I went back to MikFroYo v4.61 and it works perfect. I was just wondering if any of you guys using a newer gingerbread could suggest one that you are currently using where the voice to text works good on the keyboards.
Vlingo is pretty good, but it constantly runs in the background.
