Hi *,
i have a big problem here. I'm developing with Eclipse and the android sdk. Everything works fine. I can debug in the Emulator as well as on my HTC Desire HD. No problems. But i can't debug on my POV Mobii (modded with Advent Vega Firmware and MoDaCo R8). I can set it to USB-Debugging mode. But it doesn't appear under the DDMS section in Eclipse.
I'm running Windows 7 32Bit. If i try to install the original USB driver from Advent Vega oder the driver that comes with the MoDaCo package Windows says that it's not compatible with my device. Tried out some things for over two hours now but nothing works.
Does anyone had the same problem and perhaps knows how to solve it?
Greetings
EDIT: I've found this: h-t-t-p://android.modaco.com/content/advent-vega-vega-modaco-com/327084/what-to-do-when-your-usb-drivers-are-wrong-win7-64/
Now everything works fine
Thanks i was unable to make it to work in windows.
FYI: in linux it works with no problems
hi, it's not working for me! he can't recognize the drivers from modaco package, any clue ?
Hey, i managed to get it work! thanks anyway

After many hours of searching, I've found the correct Webcam driver for the Shift X9500 model (i.e. 0c45&PID_62c0). This one is tested and verified to work. Tried several others, didn't work. It is the exact same driver used on Acer Aspire notebooks. I've repackaged it for all to use. Please note, it will come up on your Device Manager as "Acer Crystal Eye webcam" -not to worry, it works perfectly! Oh, and it's actually a Sonix driver, but still no model number to download the Sonix equivalent from http://www.sonix.com
http://rapidshare.com/files/214304160/SonixShiftCamDriverXP.zip.html
Please can someone host this download somewhere else as RapidShare says its 10 downloads have been used up already
Thank you!
Why do you need these drivers? I didn't need to install any drivers for web-camera. I think XP has drivers for it. When I installed XP (SP2 and SP3) the drivers were installed automatically and it is working perfectly at least with Skype.
my camera driver was auto recognized by windows update
Ah, well I haven't got as far as any windows updates yet... I need actually to reinstall Windows anyway as the chipset driver failed to load and after about 15 different attempts to load it now, doesn't make any difference... so I have to sit for another evening waiting for WinXP to install.
On the bright side I have finally got XP to install so am hopeful about everything else working too!
I can confirm that WinXP does indeed have software for the webcam - but only with SP2 or better. Of course you need SP2 to install the rest of the XP drivers anyway as I discovered the (very) long way!
webcam driver is optional
this webcam driver is optional in case you want to see something else other than "usb webcam" in your "imaging devices" list of windows xp. it isn't needed, but just an enhancement. i've never had a problem with rapidshare, let's you download files every 15minutes, better than most other hosting sites.
Hi, I stumbled upon this post as I badly need the HTC Shift webcam driver. Do any of you still have a copy? Can you guys give me a link? Or can you point me to any direction?

The same problem on my side:
adb (V 1.0.26)
but custom ROM from Samdroid (Leshak)
May be some one know about problem in deep?
Thank you in advance.
I had a lot of issues with drivers.
I got it to work by following some of the tutorials on the samdroid forum.
forum[dot]samdroid[dot]com is mainly devoted to our spica.
I've tried the Vegan-tab BETA 5.1 and runs very smooth, but the wifi does not work because the hardware is different between the Viewsonic and Vega.
Could we install (I do not know how to install drivers on linux from the command line or add to a rom) drivers BuzzBumbleBee (harmony vendor) in this rom? or others with the same problem adapted for Viewsonic?
I want do do some development for Firefox OS and I have a ZTE Open C to work on. But I can't unlock the device. I've downloaded the Open_C_upgrade_Tool and run it in serveral environments. I only have a Mac and so I installed Bootcamp with Windows XP but the Upgrade Tool just says scanning for device ... and never finds it! Also tried it with XP running under VMware Fusion - the same result the UpgradeTool just searches for the ZTE and never finds it.
Before I pluged the ZTE to the system via USB I took out the SIM-Card and the SD-Card even tried with only SIM-Card out but again no success.
So can anyone here give any help with this. I read on other post that people had the same problem but there is no answer on this matter ...
And without unlocking my device it's no use to start any project.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Hi,
You can follow this guide to flash a the rooted image on your device (I assume you have an EU version) :
(Warning : not sure if it works on US version)
http://builds.firefoxos.mozfr.org/doc/en/devices/zte-open-c-eu
(and optionally update FirefoxOS with the provided -unofficial- builds)
The best would be to use a real Windows computer, I don't know if it works in a virtual machine for sure. But be sure to install the usb drivers (download link provided in the above guide) before trying to flash.
I have done it on my Open C and now I'm currently testing FxOS 2.1 (aurora)
dear devs, I posted in the general forum, instead this should be the right place
Android Studio does not recognize my phone, so I am wondering how did you do to develop and test apps!
I checked everything, developer options, check USB debugging, gradle.build etc, the phone is not recognized on windows because lack the original drivers that AFAIK are not available. Also from a previous post are recommended some tools, I downloaded, but i am afraid to run this exe.
I have even tried to install from AS the SDK Extras Google USB drivers, but the telephone is not recognized.
I guess you find a workaround to make possible developing apps.
please could you share something about that?
under Linux is recognized, lubuntu 16.4 default kernel. On Windows still not
Really? Because my linux doesn't recognize it. I tried in download mode and with the phone running, and I have debugging mode enabled. It appears nothing if I execute "adb devices", just a blank list.
My kernel version is 4.4.50. Maybe updating it to 4.9 would fix the problem? I searched for kernel verdion of ubuntu 16.04 (because trocchietto mentioned it as a working platform" and has the same kernel.
What I have to do?
