Your phone is updated when the phone provider updates it ..
Connect to Kies to check for updates .

Thank you Jje. Difficult to check where I am vs the latest (kg1/kg2) ..always tricky with Samsung...cheers.
They should make some PDA/PHONE/CSC lookup script.

Hello Odia, you sure? If so, weird, I am in Paris! I fear that, as 2 years ago with the player Hd, i'll never will get the latest firmware! ;-(
Your CSC is OXX, which is the multiCSC version. If you want to check what you have and what is out in non-wipe firmware, Intratech's thread is excellent. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

I want to change my CSC from KOR to TUR. I run Samsung Galaxy S / S2 CSC application but in CSC menu there isn't any option except for KOR (I want to install Turkish CSC, but TUR isn't on the menu):
I am using Frankenstein XWKJ3 and SiyahKernel v2.1. How can I install TUR CSC?

NO MIRRORS PLEASE!
Just to make sure (and to avoid FC), please do clean cache and full wipe/factory reset after and prior to flashing.
(Remember that factory reset deletes all user installed apps!)
Remember to connect your phone to pc and run "RunMe.bat" after flashing, to copy all necessary binaries and profit with full ROOT!
Enjoy!

yes it's newer. there were two xwjvx releases. both branded by polish carriers (era and plus). people bloated them and posted here. xwjvz is a open europe software, not a carrier branded one.
Has anyone tried to upgrade from a JVT with the 1 file version? Is that working without wipe and keeping all data? I'm interested in upgrading but don't want to reinstall everything at this time!
So are there any visible differences from JVT?

No theme, no tweaks, its clean rom with rooted kernel.
We are trying to keep the kernel stock, just rooted, so i dont think cwm or other tweaks will be applied (maaaybe in future, but it's just a "maybe")
Ok so I install this but there were no root don't know why had to rooted with s.o.c. I flash it with my region csc file but its a 2.3.3 so dont know if thats the prob but I dint get my carriers apn so had to put them manualy and the signal is by far the worst I had on any modem only 2bars almost an hour using it runing pretty good but the signal is soooo baaaaad

This is not an official ROM, thats why we won't add it to samsung-updates.com
Adam
I have some questions about JVZ before flashing :
- can we use JVT MOD whith it ?
- can we use an other kernel than your stock+rooted kernel ?
thanks
Yes, u can use any kernel you want.
$omator is working on moving stock+ mod to JVZ, so please wait as we didnt tested what will happen if you apply older mod to it
Using this rom with semaphore 2.1.1 since today, so far very good performance w/o overclock or any other tweaks. Waiting for some mods for the battery percentage and increasing ring.

Greetings XDAers.
I got a N9005 for my bday (yay!). And I'm enjoying it a lot, but it's a singaporean Note, the PDA is DX, so is the baseband, and the CSC is OLC set to XSP (My full specs bellow). Among other things, I want the "latest and greatest" rom, which Singapore doesn't seem to offer (last is from august), and I would like to have Spanish for the system, which not being a XX PDA I do not have. Also I've decided to stick with factory for a while, even if I miss terribly some things from CM I want to enjoy the S Pen to the maximum and play with gestures for a while at least.
My worry is that the singaporean device is not region locked, and I worry if I install an european rom (Spain PHE seems to be a good choice of PDA and CSC for me), that it'll lock the device to europe, to which I really have no access to unlock. Not easily.
Thus I wonder where the region lock is, is it in pda? is it in CP? is it a combination of PDA and CP? If I do not update my baseband can it still lock or can't it lock? Those are my questions. I could try with an American pda+csc too I think, since in theory any provider in latinamerica should work within the lock (I'm in Venezuela)?
My device versions:
PDA: N9005DXUENF3
CP: N9005DXUENF1
CSC: N9005OLCENF2
CSC SELECTED: XSP

1- Flash PHE firmware will not region lock your phone. So don't worry.
2- At the moment, the latest firmware for XSP is GNH1, that is newer than the latest one for PHE (currently is GNG1).
You can check yourself using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser', enter 'PHE' or 'XSP' into the CSC textbox and tap Go button to search. The latest firmware will be listed on the top.

Thank you Nguyen.
Is this a general rule, or because PHE is not region locked itself? I ask because I know UK phones seem to come locked now, but afaik and as far as I've seen UK's BTU is one of the newest firmwares out there. And being an XX pda I should get Spanish and English with it.

Flashing another firmware will not region lock/unlock your phone. But it can only brick your device, if the firmware is not compatible with your phone (in the most case it is due to different PIT file).
Hello, I have a SM-N910H (3G only, international version), with stock firmware, no root.
Now I have: Android 5.1.1, CSC=N910HUUB2COJ1, PDA=N910HXXS2CPD2, TTT=Trinidad Tobago.
I want to upgrade to 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but it is not yet available for Trinidad Tobago. I am thinking on flashing any SM-N910H firmware currently available for download at SammMobile, but I don´t know if there will be any problem since the CSC/PDA are different:
Nepal, PDA=N910HXXU2DPCD, CSC=N910HODD2DPB6
Ukraine (Kyivstar), PDA= N910HXXU2DPCD, CSC=N910HOXE2DPCD
Uzbekistan, PDA=N910HXXU2DPCD, CSC=N910HOXE2DPCD
Also, I would like to know if any of these three options include the spanish language as an option, because recencly I bought another phone in Thailand, and it has several asian languages, plus english, but no spanish.
Thank you.
I tried with CAC: Uzbekistan, (910H, 6.0.1, CAC)
it works FINE: finger print: OK, private: OK, great improvement of StylePen,
in general, ok so far
Spanish: not check, for I use with ENGLISH, sorry
(Used ODIN to upgrade from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1, downloaded StockRom rom sammobile
first, run the stock rom 6.0.1
failed with hidden.img (as usual)
extracted the Stock Rom (by adding .RAR, and use Winrar to extract the "hidden.img")
add .tar to the hidden.img -> hidden.img.tar
use ODIN to up this one (AP:....)

Thank you very much for your answer nguoidungnq. Can you please check under Settings / Language and Input / if the Language Spanish is available ? It is just a minute... Thank you !
I live in saint lucia, I own a Note 4 N910H, im on the ubekistan 6.0.1 marshmallow firmware upgrade ,my sim carrier is Digicel. The csc never matters to me as long as the rom is the one made for the Note 4 N910H specifically, everything will be working fine. Also as far as the Spanish language, you should be able to select that from the initial welcome set-up. Hope this helps.

Hi Donalgodon,
1. Is primary language for Nepal Stock Rom is ENGLISH?
2. When you flash by ODIN, did you select the option: "Odin nand erase all"
Thanks.

1. I'm not sure, but all the languages you need are possible. You select it after install.
2. No! Leave everything default. If you check that, you'll have problems. Don't do it.

Hello,
It would be awesome when someone could help me.
- Tonight I flashed the newest Stock rom (Security Dec 2018) with Smart Switch.
- Then I rooted the phone with TWRP + Magisk
- Then I decidet to deactivate the OEM Unlock
What would be the easiest way now, it looks that there is a new bootloader in this rom, so I can not use an older Rom? Is it true, could it be?
Can please tell me someone a Rom (what is downloadable and not behind a paywall) what I can flash with Odin or a simple other solution. My knowdledge in this kind of business is old and I nearly never use it. I tried it now for around 6 hours, please can someone tell me a noobproof strategy for a Samsung SM-G950. If it matters I´m from Germany.
Work in progress
-- Using SamFirm to download new Firmware
--- tried new German + new AT Firmware
--- both failed, is it possible that Samsung released a new version this night so my version is newer? Error Code: --- SW Rev. Check Fail (Bootloader) Device: 4, Binary: 3
I give it up for now
:crying:

Your issue is you are trying to flash older firmware than what is on your phone. You need firmware with bootloader version 4 or higher. Bootloader version number is the 5th number from the right of the firmware file name. A simple check of software version can be found in settings - about phone - software info - baseband
You can search for firmware using samfirm or sammobile or updato all are free to download

Can you still get into recovery/download modes
You could try a factory reset
Not sure what firmware your looking at but if from Germany on updato I can see at least 2 firmwares which may work with version 4 bootloader
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Edit: For some reason link not going directly to Germany firmware list
You will have select model eg: S8
Then use filters to select region

Thank you very much but this side sucks, downloadtime > 1 day
Can you please give me a filename to keep sure I take the right one.
In what specific position do I see where the Bootloader 4 is? My thinking was just take the files from end 2018 and 2019.

Samfirm will probably be the quickest.
File name convention eg: G950FXXU4CRKG the number 4 ( 5th from right ) is the bootloader revision number the higher the number the latest firmware available. You can not downgrade firmware ie: 3,2, or 1( bootloader no.)
The latest ones I can find for Germany region for the s8 Oreo:
G950FXXU4CRL3- CSC - DBT - December 14
Since I am not sure what carriers you have but CSC codes as far as I know
DBT - I can only assume unbranded(non carrier) ?
XEG ( 1&1 )
DDE ( congstar )
VIA ( 02 )
DTM ( T Mobil )
VD2 ( Vodafone )
I would use samfirm as it is quicker in downloading at least for me
In samfirm top left enter model no. SM-G950f
Underneath in region box enter ? ( I can only suggest using DBT or one of the above. )
Samfirm.will only show latest version available for your region.

I think the problem is that SamFirm sucks actually. I can not download manually firmwares there, maybe the automatic sucks und brings me old results.
Now I download this here: https://samfrew.com/de/amp/download/Galaxy__S8__/ke8v/VD2/G950FXXU4CRL4/G950FOVF4CRL1/
I think now I got it. I thank all people what have inspired me. It´s flashing.
Just a final question, is it possible that MOST Firmdatabases what are promoted in XDA Developers are a bunch of ****, it looks like the owner of this ****sides permanently promote their moneymakingmachines here.
Final Notice: Because I don´t trust this side, I flash the Nov Version and than flash with Samsung Tool the latest Dez Vers.
