Hi everybody,
Well i have got my htc HD2 for a while now , got sick of windows mobile so i went and put Cyanogenmod on it.
All worked well , but after a week or 2 people can't hear me when i call them , nor when they call me. I can hear them just fine.
Messaging also worked fine on android , no problems.
So i went to install windows phone 7 when it came out for the HD2 ,same story ; everything works fine except for the outgoing sound in a call.
I tried the latest version of the radio , and several others , tried to reinstall the OS mutltiple times .
I even checked my sim card in an other phone , in that phone , it does work fine.
What can i do ? it's really annoying not to be able to call properly.

does sound work when you record voice recorder? or video? could the mic hole be full of pocket goo?
This happens to me also. No sound until maybe 5 seconds into the call it starts to work again.

The mic works fine , it does record sound in video mode ,etc.
It only happens in a call.
small kick , any ideas ?

Hi all,
I just flashed my HD2 to android, all process goes smooth and let me thank you all for your contributions.
My HD2 seems working perfectly on everything except making calls and receiving calls, everytime when I make a call or receive a call, the sound I hear from the receiver was like someone speaking under the water, and the buttons on the screen also seemed not working properly. Also, the system said sometimes that the phone module is not working properly and ask me to shut it down......
The rom I am using is NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9a NAND
Hope you guys have clues on what is happening........

The sound problem in a call is I believe called "Robotic Voice", but of course, the description for it is different for everyone.

what radio U have ?
The radio version I am using is 2.15.50.14
I'm using the same radio rom. Try the speaker phone trick above. If that doesn't work you may have to reflash the rom. Otherwise this build is awesome for me.

The speaker option mentioned above will work.
Tested the same ROM as you have and fixed it with the speaker 'trick'
When I press speaker, the phone freezes and asks me to force close the phone process. So I cannot get out of robovoice mode.

Hello, I'm currently having some problems with my Optimus L5 ... When making or receiving a call, the microphone stops working completely, I hear the other person normally, but the other person can not hear me. The curious thing is that when I activate the speakerphone, the mic works normally. Another way that works normally is when I connect the headset and talk to your internal microphone. Already tested programs recording voice and music recognition and apparently all work perfectly . For this reason I think that the problem is not the mic itself but a software problem .. But I remember I did not touch anything in the system that it was the microphone, and a few days ago everything worked normally ..
If anyone knows any solution please help me, I'm going crazy with this problem and I am still unable to make or receive calls, it is really annoying ..

@-CALIBAN666-, this problem is not in beta 5, I know this because I use the CM 10.1 since beta 2 and it never happened... this problem appeared after a long time using the beta 4.2. I thought the beta 5 would solve my problem somehow, but unfortunately did not...

I'm sorry for opening that topic but i'm desperate now. I saw similar topics for that but i tried every written solution on that topics not working.
Last month i've rooted my i9500 first time and flashed CyanogenMod (4.4.2 Kitkat). There were few bugs on this ROM. For example Camera Problem, Low Mic issue etc.. After i used that ROM 2 days, i decided to change my ROM because of bugs. I changed 4-5 ROMs for i9500. ( Phoenix, CyanogenMod(New Version), MIUI etc... But the low mic issue was still there.
I tried flashing Stock Rom 4.3
Flashing Stock New Rom 4.4
Flashing stock Kernel and stock Radio
Flashing other ROMs...
I tried all of them. All problems gone except low mic issue. First I thought something wrong with my hardware but after that i noticed that the low mic issue is just running on Phone Calls. If i open speaker my voice is perfect but in normal call people barely hear me or don't hear me.
Voice recorder and Video Recording is perfectly record sound. The problem is occur only Phone Call without speaker.
So i need your help, how i can solve this low mic issue ?

try downloading AudioManager on play store and see if it helps. It could be a hardware problem you know.

I downloaded AudioManager but nothing changed. I guess the problem is not hardware because if i use speaker on phone calls my voice is perfect. Audio recording and video recording are also perfect.
No solutions ?

You've probably got dirt in your microphone hole, locate it on the bottom of the device and use a dental pick or something to clear the blockage.
Perhaps you're covering the microphone hole when you hold up the phone to your ear?
I tried to clean it nothing changed. I'm holding same as i always do . I tried directly speak to mic hole. Nothing changed

I Have same issues, im sure Hardware is working Fine, mic in low volume if using at phone call and record voice note. but in other apps like Audio Record, and Activate Speaker Phone mic is Working properly, S Voice, etc
I also upgrade my device GT-I9500 JB 4.3 with firmware for Russia I9500XXUFNB3_I9500SERFNB3_I9500XXUFNA6_HOME
After that , start my problem with S4 device and microphone NOT working level is so bad and low .... sound is very poor
If I use speaker option mic working good , also if I use bluetooth headset for communication sound work good , normal .
But have problem if I answering and try talk "normally " by microphone .
Today try with other 4.4.2 firmware like I9500XXUFNB7_I9500OLBFNB4
But unfortunately, there is still the problem with my S4 GT-I9500
My mic work good with JB 4.3 but this problem start when upgrade to 4.4.2

i9500. on AOSB KK 4.4.4 1.3v mic works fine on phone calls, whatsapp voice, recorder,etc
but on euphoria rom , some builds mic only works in whatsapp and google nw etc and not on phone calls
frapetis CM12 v19build, mic works sometimes in calls, sometime not, sometimes after dialling crazy screetching noise comes, cannot hear the call then nor they can hear me. after 2-3 call attempts, voice becomes fine,and can call with no troubles. but this sh*T keeps happening.
tried going back to TW(AURORA, STOCK) , still same story, mic not working in calls, but in voice recorder
Some builds mic doesnt work only,anywhere.

considering the fact that voice works with KK and problems are only in 5.0/.1 ROMS. tried different modems for lollipop also, still no use

however when my friend calls me over skype or viber on my phone the speaker and mic is working perfectly fine and we can talk?Does anybody know what could be a problem hw or sw?Tnx in advance

Seem problems of the ROM. Flash other custom ROM or flash STOCK one.

The problem is with "Phone" app
You need to replace it or factory reset or flashing a system folder

I have already Flash 2 different rom in each case factory reset wipe dalvink memory etc and no luck, if I call for example on hangouts I have no problems.
I will try deleting the phone app

I'm using LG magna 6.0 rooted phone and everything is working great except when i want to make call using viber or whatsapp or even skype . I can barely hear other side, but other side can hear me great. When I am using SIM call everything is normal, even sound is more then good. During viber call i tried to increase with volume + button but there is barely change.
I try to use Mobileuncle MTK Tools but i didn't figure out what to change, and when i change something nothing happened (no changes after restart).
I only want to increase (boost, fix) call volume for viber/skype/whatsapp because other levels of sound are great (SIM call, headphones, back speaker , mic, media...) and don't need adjustment
Is anybody have idea what is wrong with my phone?
Is there solution for this?
